How to connect HP Officejet Pro 8610 to a Laptop that's not connect to the internet

Just bought the HP Officejet Pro 8610 all-in-one for the local Historical Society. Neither the laptop nor the printer will be connected to the Internet. The printer will only be used for printing reports, scanning images, etc.
I have just removed the instruction manual to familiarize myself with the connecting procedure but I notice there are several references that require internet access.
Is there a work-around that allows me to install/connect the printer without requiring access to the internet?

Hi,
How many computer will be using the printer ? If only one the USB (you may have to buy a cable) is the way to go. You can also use wireless direct to print but this is not reliable:

Yes - but - you need an app that supports file sharing and you still need iTunes on a computer, or you need an app like Folder Plus that lets you mount the iPad like a USB drive. You need the helper app on the computer as well.

I used to have this all in one connected to my pc, until I was experiencing a few printing issues, so I decided to uninstall it! When I tried to reinstall it, the pc will not connect it. I have tried different ports and have replaced the cable, also downloaded the latest software and drivers all to no avail. I can connect wirelessly to my laptop, but unfortunately this isn't a solution for my desktop as it's not wireless, therefore it has to be connected via usb. At my wits end, please help me!!!!!

Hello,
Can you try inserting a flash drive into one of the USB ports in the printer, to make sure it reads it?
The port on the printer might be what's giving you the issue. Also, can you try connecting the printer USB to a different PC?
Let me know the outcome.

Hi there, are you referring to the printers status within your ePrintCenter account, as in the image below? The printer dropping the connection to the local WiFi network or a problem with your internet access point (router) maintaining a reliable connection to the internet could be possible causes for what you're seeing. How do I deactivate adobe pro on my old laptop that no longer works?

I just recently had to purchase a replacement laptop and need to have Adobe Pro running on both my laptop and desktop machine. Unfortunately, it appears Adobe is still registered on my old laptop that is no longer functioning? How can I deactivate so that I can activate and use on my new laptop? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I checked the registered Acrobat11 Serial number at the server and found that you were able to successfully deactivate the copy on one of the machines today.
You can install the software on up to 2 machines now as Adobe EULA entitles you for the same.

Installing PSE 12 on laptop that is not connected to internet

I purchased and installed Photoshop Elements 12 several months ago on my desktop computer. I am taking a class on Photoshop Elements and would like to install the program onto my laptop computer in order to take it to the class; however, my laptop has Windows XP on it and I no longer use it to connect to the internet. How can I install my Photoshop Elements 12 program onto the laptop using my installation disk? Thank you.

Pse 12 should work fine on windows xp, except you won't be able to update past the camera raw version 8.0 that ships with it, unless you do it manually
and unless you can at least hook up to the internet once, i don't know if you can activate photoshop elements 12 or get the photoshop elements 12.1 update.
It's possible you could activate pse 12 using the steps below, but i've never tried, so i don't know if it will work.

My airport extreme (new-5th gen) connects to my iMac - and a PC laptop but will not connect to the internet, my ISP says that I have entered the correct modem ID and that I contact Apple supt as they do not support airport extreme...??

Any suggestions getting my modem (Speedstream 5200) talking to my new airport extreme? Airport Extreme says I do not have the correct user password for the modem but my IP provider says that I do and that they (Bell Sympatico) do not - in any case - support Airport Extreme and that I should talk to Apple Support...who do not come to the phone. So my computers see my new network and my Airport Extreme sees my computers but it cannot access the modem and therefore the internet. Any ideas?

If the Speedstream is acting as a router, then the AirPort Extreme must be configured in Bridge Mode to avoid having two routers in series on your network....which would certainly cause IP address conflicts and connection issues.
To configure the AirPort Extreme in Bridge Mode.....
Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup
Click the Internet icon
Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)

I have a 2010 macbook pro 2010 13.3" laptop that will not update from 10.6.3

I have an Apple macBook pro that will not update at all. It is a 13.3 model the initial load is 10.6.3. The battery is dead as well and the pram seems to not hold as well, time reset even when plugged in on restart. any update leads to the spinning wheel freezing, and i mean freeze even the dvd drive stops working completely. Any ideas?

You can update to higher versions of Snow Leopard by applying the combo updates, anyway. Your predicament may come from the fact that a prior update didn't install properly, and is blocking the install of other updates. You should download the combo updates from Apple's website, and apply them.
You'll find the 10.6.8 update here. You'll still have to apply the various security updates that have been released since, if any.

HP Officejet Pro 8610 all in one printer will not print a PDF or JPG in color

I am using mac osx 10.6
I can make copies in color. Print word documents with color and pretty much everything else but print in color any PDF or JPG. I have tried various printer configurations. I have tried from acrobat, illustrator, and photoshop. With photoshop i even tried the option of letting photoshop control the color settings. I hae tried multiple differnt files all with the same results. All are color files. I do not know what to do. I re-installed the drivers for the printer as well. I do not get any errors and the ink levels are fine. 3/4s full in fact of every color

Click File > Print , in the dialog box, uncheck "Print in grayscale ( black and white )"

That sounds like you are saying you do not have a DVD drive on your computer to insert the discs. No problem. You can download the installer direct from Adobe. All you will need is the serial number.
Download CS5 products Photoshop CS5 installers are available for both Windows and Mac.
For Windows there will be two files, an .exe and a .7z that must be downloaded. The exe will create the installer when run.

No print from Windows 7 Desktop and Officejet Pro 8610

I purchased and installed a new Officejet Pro 8610 about a month ago. My desktop computer is an HP Windows 7 unit. The printer is setup wireless. Up until a few days ago, everything has run fine, but now I cannot print anything from my desktop computer. Printing from my MacBook laptop works fine. Printing from my iphone is fine. Scanning to the desktop computer is fine. Webprinting is fine. The printer icon has a nice green checkmark in the devices folder. I have run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which claims to fix a port issue, but does not resolve the problem. I have use windows to troubleshoot the connection, which claims to make the printer available to my homegroup, but it does not resolve the problem. I tried changing the security settings for the spooler. Did not resolve the problem. I cannot manually stop and star the spooler via dos prompt. Says system 5 error, access denied. This is maddening. I got rid of my old printer (which reliably printed from the desktop) so that I could have wireless printing capability, and now I have wireless capability but cannot print from my desktop. Aaaaggghhhhhh!!!!

Hey , Thanks for getting back to me regarding this issue. At this time I am going to have you load an alternate Officejet driver on your product. Because the network connection is fine, and scanning is still fine I do not believe that the issue that you're experiencing is connectivity or software related. This alternate driver I am going to have you load will operate the exact same way as the Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer driver. Therefore, you will not lose any functionality by performing this fix. Please try the steps below. Step 1: Clear Temp Files: Click on your Start menu
In the 'search programs and files' box located right above Start after you click on it, type %temp% and hit enter on your keyboard
When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will now highlight.
Select the 'delete' button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the Temp files. Should a Temp file still be used than you will automatically get the pop up to 'skip' that item.
Close the Temp folder once it is emptied
Right click the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling BinPlease proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Load Alternate Driver: Please click here to download the Officejet driver Once the download is complete you may get a prompt to Run the download. If you see the Run prompt, please allow it to Run.An extraction should now occur. Once the extraction is complete an installation window may pop open. Please close any install windows. You do not want to run an installation. Next, click on your Start menu. Mac OS X Won't Print Card Stock on Brand New OfficeJet Pro 8610 e AiO

Hi All - I print cardstock all the time and just purchased a new OfficeJet Pro 8610 eAiO from Best Buy 2 days ago. The salesman told me it was the best option for cardstock printing and the specs say it can handle 110lbs cardstock. It is hooked up and printed a couple standard paper pages nicely. But when I put in the cardstock, it made all the noises like it was printing, but then "Load Paper" shows up on the LCD screen. We have tried unplugging it, but that doesnt do anything. After a little bit of fiddling with the tray (pushing and pulling on all tabs and springs we see), we put the tray back in and then it prints. But we have to do this with every print request. I have read to select "heavy paper or card stock" in the printer properties and to disable tray 2. I dont have a tray 2 on my printer (that I am aware of at least). And I dont see an option for printer properties for me to change anything. Does anyone have directions for this process? Also - I read that the printer may work if it is kept nearly full of paper? Has anyone had success with this? Any help is appreciated.

Checking over the printer's specifications, found at this website. HP Officejet Pro 8610, 8620, 8630, 8640, and 8660 e-All-in-One Printer Series Printer Specifications. This is a supported paper size at 8.5 x 11, if the paper type is Index Card Letter.
I also would recommend trying the solutions within this guide. An 'Out of Paper' Message Displays on the Control Panel and the All-in-One Does Not Pick Up Paper. Again please, try a custom size print to see if that will work. Create Custom Paper Sizes in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X.
