  • Can't connect ipad to airport extreme

Can't connect ipad to airport extreme after internet provider reset modem. Works fine only with MacBook Pro.

Have you tried resetting your network settings?
Try "forgetting" that network. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the chevron next to your wireless network name and then "forget this network".
Tap it again to choose it.
If that does not work... then try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
You will need to enter your networks passwords again, after which they will be remembered.
To see available networks go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Available networks are shown under Choose a Network...

    Hi,
Recently i bought a new ipad mini, now i want to know how can i connect my Ipad Mini to external home theater speakers (Sony). Please let me know what type of hardware and steps i have to use.
    Thanks in advance.

You should be able to use a 3.5mm plug cable to connect iPad to the AUX input of your sound system.
Make sure you set the volume to about 5% to 10% on you iPad.

  • How to connect to dsl airport extreme with built in modem

    Hello everybody,

PS: again sorry for my poor english

If you try to set up the new AirPort Extreme with AirPort Utility 5.6.1, you will receive a notice that you need a more up to date version of AirPort Utility.
Nevertheless, AP 5.6.1 will allow you to set up the basics....wireless network name, password, etc.
It will appear that you can change other settings that are not found in more recent versions of AirPort Utility, but if you go in and check using a newer version of AirPort Utility, you will find that the settings that you thought you had made have not "stuck".
For example, you want to change the Radio Mode on the new Extreme and not use the Automatic setting. AP 5.6.1 will appear to let you do this. But, if you check the setting using a more recent version of AirPort Utility you will see that the setting is still set at "Automatic".
So, the bottom line here is that unless the newer version of AirPort Utility has the specific setting that you want to change, you will not be able to make that change.
Is there ANY chance, to set up my new "towers" with more
options, than the current Airport Utilities do offer?
    Unfortunately, no.

  • How to connect Xbox to Airport Express

I currently have the Xbox connect to the Airport Express (ethernet).
The cable modem is connect to the Airport Extreme in another room.
    The internet is WPA protect.
The Airport Extreme is password protected.
Is this a possible set up? Also, can you provide directions of how to enter all the correct setting information on the Xbox? Do I need to enter anything on the Airport?

Looks like this thread died. I have a similar situation. Got a Time Capsule connected to a modem, and an older airport express in another room I've been using to stream music. The wireless network is WPA password protected. My son just got an Xbox 360. Just fooling around, I connected it to the airport express, but wasn't able to see the network. I have the airport express set to "join network." Do I have to set up a WDS? If so, do I have to change settings on the Time Capsule (to main base in a WDS)? I'd rather not set up a WDS, as I'd rather not mess with the Time Capsule, and I've heard that WDS cuts down on the signal strength of the wireless network. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • How to connect a 2nd airport express in a home network?

I'm triying to connect a second airport express in my home network but when I plug in and go to Airpot Utility says :
"This version of AirPort Utility doesn’t support this base station. Go to AirPort Service and Support for more information."
I don't know what to do to get connect the second airport exprees?, Do I miss something ?

You need AirPort Utility 5.6 to configure that model Express. The problem with that version is that Mountain Lion will refuse to let you install it.
This dilemma is easily solved. You simply need to extract the app from the installer package using a package extractor like Pacifist or unpkg. Pacifist is shareware, unpkg is free.
    Download Pacifist here: http://www.charlessoft.com/
    Download unpkg here: http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Download AirPort Utility 5.6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
When the AirPort Utility .dmg file finishes downloading, open it to expand and reveal the AirPortUtility56.pkg package installer file.
Directions for Pacifist (I do not have screenshots for unpkg but the idea is similar):
Open Pacifist and from its File menu, navigate to the package and open it.
Click the "reveal triangles" until you see AirPort Utility 5.6.app:
Select it and then click Install from Pacifist's toolbar. It will then be installed in your Utilities folder, and you can quit Pacifist.
Mountain Lion will not allow you to delete its existing version of AirPort Utility. Just ignore it. It and the older version (which will bear the unique name "AirPort Utility 5.6") can peacefully coexist.
If you happen to have an archived copy of the AU 5.6 app somewhere, such as a Time Machine backup or equivalent, you can simply restore it or drag the app to your Mountain Lion system's Utilities folder instead of resorting to the above procedure. It will run without complaint. It is only the package installer that is the problem.
If you have an older computer with a version of AirPort Utility earlier than 6.0, you can administer it that way as well.

  • How to connect to specific Airport

I have a new Airport Extreme-N which is hardwired to the internet. In another room I have an Express that I use to connect to my DVR to get "on demand" programming.
I am using the Extend this network option on the Express.
I am noticing that the iMac will often connect to the Express (which then connects ot the Extreme then to the internet) instead of connecting directly to the Extreme.
Is there a way to force the iMac to connect directly to the Extreme.
I'm getting some odd wireless issues (wireless stops working, have to cycle the iMac airport on and off to reconnect) and am wondering if this might be an cuse.

    Oops! My fault.
There is an option in the AirPort Utility to not allow wireless clients connect to the AirPort, except for the base station (the express would connect to the extreme but the express won't let any other device connect to it while the extreme would let you connect to it). However if you're using the express to extend the range, this won't work (but if you're using the express just to use printer sharing and AirTunes, try this).
    To do this:
    1. Open the AirPort Utility (which is found in the Utilities folder which is in the Applications folder).
    2. Select your AirPort express and click on Manual Setup.
    3. Under the Wireless tab, uncheck Allow Wireless Clients.
    4. Click on Update.
Then check and see if your computer connects to the extreme.

  • Which hdmi cables and how to connect iPad?

Can someone recommend an hdmi cable for appletv device to my tv?   Also, how do I connect my ipad2 to the appletv or is that the mirroring thru
WIFI?  I need a geek squad for free,

Any decent HDMI cable will work from your Apple TV to your TV. Go to Radioshack, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc. and get one the length you need.
To use your iPad with your Apple TV you need a wireless network in your house, both the Apple TV and the iPad must be connected to the same network, and you will need to turn on Airplay in the Settings menu on your Apple TV.

  • How tot connect 2nd gen airport extreme to 1st gen timecapsule

    Dear Apple Guru's,
    I have the following problem:
The timecapsue I use, type A1254 is my connection to the internet through a cable modem.
it allso serves several systems over ethernet and over WIFI.
the WIFI range is to small.
So I bought a Airport Express, type A1392.
I would like to connect this via Ethernet to the timecapsule, as that is the faster connection, and then extend my WIFI network.
My expectation was that, both being apple, it would be a piece of cake. alas, I have not been able to make it work,
Will you tell me how to do this?
    Greetings
    Wilfriedo

    Dear Tesserax,
your proposed solution works, even under AirPort Utility Version 6.1(610.31)
you don't have the option for my Time Capsule (1st gen) to select 'share a public IP-adress'
Internet connects solely through ethernet. you can select PPPoE, DHCP, or static.
Still: it works like a charm.
    thank you
    Wilfriedo

Unfortunately, the USB port on the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) does not support scanners or scanning functions of multi-purpose printers.
