i've recently bought a new nokia lumia 520.
the phone is amazing!
On my pc i have windows xp service pack 3
i installed zune and connected the mobile to pc but zune is not detecting it.
how do i connect the 520 to zune?

you don't use zune for wp8.
just connect your device with a usb cable to your pc and it should auto--detect, then auto-install the drivers and then you can just go to "My Computer" and you will see "Lumia 520"
it will show up as a drive and you can just drag and drop mp3/docs/etc to your device now.

The Lumia 1020 does not support tv or video out via cable. You can play media stored on the phone via wifi to a DLNA enabled player. This won't work for Powerpoint.
A possible workaround is to use the Nokia Beamer app to share whatever appears on your phones display to an internet connected tv or display.

How to connect Lumia 920 with PC Suite

Hi,
I downloaded and installed latest Nokia PC Suite on my WIndows 7 machine. While connecting my Lumia 920 with USB cable to my system, it shows "Quit the transfer mode from phone if you want to use the phone with PC Suite"
I have not been able to find this option in the phone anywhere.. I want to connect and backup my contacts and sync alot of sother stuff as well.
Can anyone please guide me as to how to do this.

No, but you wil llimit your phone options and features.
If you are away from home and your phone bricks or gets damaged you have no way of recovering until you get back home. By using the cloud your can access your data anytime, anywhere and your phone and backup data are always in sync without you needing to do anything. If that is not what you want by all means go ahead and try THIS (there are other options.. go Google it)..
You will also HAVE to own/use Outlook for any of these to work.

No WEP Connection Lumia 520

Hi,
It seems that I cannot connect to mu home wifi using a WEP. It is showing a password error and cannot connect.
WPA and others work ok. It is just refusing to work with WEP.
[I cannot change wffi to WPA because we have a repeater at home and they will only cooperate in the WEP or Open mode]
Tried resetting and all that is on the support website. What a mess!!!
Any help....or should I boot it back to the shop!?

You should not be using WEP anyway, it is extremely unsecure and an outdated protocol. It is also know that certain WEP chipsets are very picky about connecting devices and often do not do so. It's far more likely an issue with yoru repeater then with the phone.
In any case I woudl certainly suggest you get a mopre secure setup.

Lumia 520 only shooting 2MP instead of 5MP resolut...

Anyone knows how come my Lumia 520 camera shoots 1632x1218 pixels or 1632x916 depending on the aspect ratio, instead of the 5 megapixels it's supposed to shoot? I've used the standard camera app, did a (soft) reset, tried to use the Nokia Camera app, but still 1,5 to 2mp. How can I get my "full" 5MP? :-)

How did you check that resolution? did you check images on the phone?

What connection did you use when you updated your phone? Is it cellular data connection or Wi-Fi? Have you tried contacting your operator about this? Try to remove and reinsert your SIM and then reboot your phone. I managed to unlock lumia 520 as testing device, now I want to install app from sdcard but I'm unable to do that. I installed file manager free from app store and it shows the sd card but not the contents of the sd card. How do I open sd card on this device

Hi, waydie. Lumia phones do not support TV-out feature via cable, but you can wirelessly show pictures and videos on your TV using the DLNA feature. Lumia 520 messaging not connecting

When I started using my phone everything was good, until 2 weeks ago that it wouldn't connect to my msn everytime it happens I am obligated to go to Airplane Mode which leaves me with no calls or data plan option and it's frustrating, I got a data plan for a reason, and I hope there is a solution to it. Well if you got the Phone Pggray43 at a Local Corporate store in your Area) you should be able to return it as long as you have all the contents.! Phone, Charger and any other accessories that came with it the Box of Course.. As long as you have not went past the 14 Day return.. the store can go over what you used as in Air Time and Data..
Now if you've went past the 14 Day return you be Liable to pay a E.T.F = Early Termination Fee the fee for this is around $300 so hopefully you have not went past the 14 Day return window the Manager if Available is the one I would talk to tell them your on Social Security and you just can't afford a phone as this I'm sure they'll work with you to get something solved..

For heavens sake .Lumia 520 is a smartphone that cant connect to wifi. very useless. I have tried all those steps abt settings on the router without success. i love my fone but i feel disappointed with it..Feel like i can return it to shop

Is it just your wifi that you have problems connecting to or is it all wifis? What router settings have you checked? Router settings can be a complex maze but there is no reason why the 520 should not connect unless there is an issue with your specific handset.

Once linked to a specific account the contact will sync there and not to another account. It may be possible to backup contacts using an app like Contacts Backup, Remove them (from outlook,com) and restore the backup at which time the app may ask to which account to backup.
As I recall Contacts Backup creates a .VCF (VCARD) file on skydrive which you might be able to import into an Android phone or you can export the contacts from outlook.com and import them into gmail.
So you have options, but it would be better to ask in an Android community to make sure.
