How to connect my Mac Air 13" to my Philips display with DVI and VGA ports?

Use a DVI to micro-DVI adapter if you're on an original MacBook Air, and a Mini DisplayPort adapter for a newer one.

When you have connected the monitor or the TV to the MBP, open System Preferences>Displays and it should show a category called Arrangement.  These links should give some of the details:

  • How to connect a mac pro A1186 to 27" cinema display

Hello! Trying to connect a newer display to older mac pro.
Have a mac pro A1186, want to connect it to a 27" Cinema display. Any way to do this? I've read that there needs to be a female-mini-to-male-dvi converter, and that those don't exist?
    Any suggestions or help?
    Thank you!

    Hello,
A new graphics card wouldn't be a bad idea; but if you don't want to go this route, I know from experience that the Altona DVI to Mini DisplayPort Converter works all right. It is discontinued now, but I'm sure a few of them can still be had through eBay or another similar source. I bought and used one to connect a 2006 Mac Mini to a 27" Cinema Display a while back. Hope this helps.

  • Connecting Power Mac G5 dual 2.0ghz  to a tv - DVI to VGA

I have a dual 2ghz G5 that I'd like to connect to my TV which has a female VGA connection. I have a DVI cable that I was using with a monitor, and a DVI-VGA male adapter to connect the computer to the TV. I want to use the TV as the sole monitor. I changed the resolution to be 800x600 in case that was the issue, but I still can't get the TV to recognize the signal. I read somewhere that typical adapters suitable for PC use may not work for Macs because there may be some kind of signal difference. Help!

This forum is for hardware G3 & older, running OS 9 & older.
Suggest you repost your question in the G5 forum or Tiger forum. See index at http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa?categoryID=1

With this adapter. You will also need an HDMI cable.
The Thunderbolt port doubles as a mini DisplayPort on the MBA.

This could be an issue with that vintage Tv.
Svideo is more fitted for video player input.
Go to http://eshop.macsales.com/ to see what options are available.
If you send them an email, they will help if you don't see option.
Prior to sending them mail, select the exact model you have from the
list of the MacPro's and any other details.
Is there a reason your still at 10.4.11?
Also, Apple Tv streams to my Tv's.
May just have to do a Craigslist search and pick up a worthy Tv with HDMI ports.

  • How to connect my mac book pro to network printer Canon IR 2010f?

I'm desperate to know how to connect my Mac book Pro to network printer Canon IR 2010f. This printer has an independent system, therefore, no need a PC to be on, in order to print. But this printer is a network printer. Help me please.

The Canon UFR2 v2.20 driver for Mac OS X does not list the iR2010F as a supported model. The same is so for the Canon PS driver so I therefore believe this model is PCL5e only.
What you should do is open Safari and type the IP address of the iR2010F. This will connect to the internal web page of the copier and from the provided pages you should be able to see what printer languages are supported.
If it only lists PCL then you will be able to print to this copier using the Generic PCL driver included with 10.6.
So if you open Print & Fax, click + to add and then select IP > LPD for the protocol you can then enter the IP address of the iR2010F and leave the queue name blank. For the name you can change that to iR1020F and for the Print Using, select Generic PCL Laser Printer.
One note with regards to this driver. It is defaulted to 300dpi so you will need to open the print dialog when you do print and change the resolution to 600dpi to get better print quality.

I am trying to connect my wii wireleslly but I have fount some dificulties !@@#$$%
I have a desctop mac and I am using the version 10.7.5!
I was able to Configure my will on the interstet with success. My internet sharing is on but I have problem with the next steps...
I am trying to find how I add a new firewall policy but still haven't found anything ( and TCP port number)
    Please HEEeeELllLPPPP!!

You do not need the Setup Assistant; in fact, you do not need any software on an external hard drive. I have two LaCie's; I erased the drive as soon as I plugged it in. You will need to format it anyway because most hard drives come Windows formatted. So, if you only want to use it with the Mac, highlight it in Disk Utility and choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as the format and the GUID Partition scheme under Options. While doing that, it will erase the drive (and get rid of the LaCie software) - once finished, your drive is ready to use for Time Machine or any other backup plans you have for it.

  • I need to connect my mac air with my mac mini home computer?

I cannot find out what is needed to connect my mac air with my home computer, a mac mint

If you have a WiFi network at home, the MBA should easily connect to the Mac mini or vice-versa for anything from file sharing, oprical disc sharing, or even screen sharing. Start in System Preferences > Sharing and turn on the desired services. In that same panel you can choose whether that access is for all users or for specific user accounts on the particular system.
Then go to the other computer and open Finder then look under "shared" and select the computer you want to share. If you have activated screen sharing as well as file sharing you will actually have logon to both shares using the user account and password for the user you specified on the other machine.

  • Best way to connect my Mac Air to my TV ?

What's the best way to connect my Mac Air to my TV ideally wirelesly so I can have meetings in the room displayed on the TV?
The TV has an HD port.

You're only option at this point in time for a wireless connection to your TV for mirroring your display is a product called McTivia, which runs around $180.
If wireless isn't absolutely necessary and you don't feel like shelling out that much cash, a simply HDMI cable and a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter would do the trick and save you over $100.
