how to connect my MAC Book Pro (2013) to a display?

When you have connected the monitor or the TV to the MBP, open System Preferences>Displays and it should show a category called Arrangement.  These links should give some of the details:

  • How to connect my mac book pro to network printer Canon IR 2010f?

I'm desperate to know how to connect my Mac book Pro to network printer Canon IR 2010f. This printer has an independent system, therefore, no need a PC to be on, in order to print. But this printer is a network printer. Help me please.

The Canon UFR2 v2.20 driver for Mac OS X does not list the iR2010F as a supported model. The same is so for the Canon PS driver so I therefore believe this model is PCL5e only.
What you should do is open Safari and type the IP address of the iR2010F. This will connect to the internal web page of the copier and from the provided pages you should be able to see what printer languages are supported.
If it only lists PCL then you will be able to print to this copier using the Generic PCL driver included with 10.6.
So if you open Print & Fax, click + to add and then select IP > LPD for the protocol you can then enter the IP address of the iR2010F and leave the queue name blank. For the name you can change that to iR1020F and for the Print Using, select Generic PCL Laser Printer.
One note with regards to this driver. It is defaulted to 300dpi so you will need to open the print dialog when you do print and change the resolution to 600dpi to get better print quality.

  • How to connect my Mac Book Pro to Linksys WRT160N router

    HI,
I just bought a   Linksys WRT160N router. I pop the installation disk in my mac book pro and walk thru the installation procedure successfully.
But I can't connect wirelessly from my MacBook Pro (running mac os x 10.5).
It sees the router and I did type in the password correctly (i copy from the text file generated by the installation procedure), but I keep getting 'coonnection timeout'.
Anyone has similar problem and know how to fix it?
    Thank you.

I experienced this behavior today.  My client had a WRT160N version 3 running on firmware 3.0.02.  I upgraded it to the current version, 3.0.03, because checking for upgrades is part of the service I provide to my clients.  After that point, I could not connect wirelessly -- I got the "connection timeout" message every time I provided the password.  Reviewing the firmware release notes, I saw a mention of "Fixed wireless channel 11 being unstable."  My client was operating on channel 11.  When I moved the router to channel 1, bingo -- the wireless connected perfectly.  And no, no one in the vicinity was running another network on 11 -- there was only one other, and he was on 6, which is non-overlapping.
The best part was when I called Cisco for help and got told there would be a charge for assistance to solve the problem their own firmware obviously caused, that (unlike every other manufacturer in the business) they don't recommend people upgrading their firmware unless something is clearly broken (where is that on the website or in the upgrade instructions, please?), and that they don't keep copies of the older firmware.

  • How to connect my Mac book Pro to a TV

How to connect my MacBook Pro to the TV using HDTV cable

I am assuming your TV has HDMI connector.
In that case, if your MacBook is the retina-one, you have HDMI connector there too. All you need is HDMI cable to connect teh two.
If your MacBook has thunderbolt port instead, you need Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and HDMI cable.
    Hope this makes sense.

  • When i connect my mac book pro to an external display using a VGA cable and adaptor, the external display splits into several different columns of the same screen overlapping one another. Does anybody have any ideas as to why this happens?

I have used different VGA to mini port adaptors, different VGA cables and connected them to different external monitors and prjectors but the same thing happens. I am starting to think there may be a problem with the macbook itself however, when i have used a HDMI lead and adaptor to external monitors the external display is fine.

  • How do I connect my Mac book pro to Apple TV wireless

I am not sure how to connect my Mac book pro to the tv with Apple TV wirelessly

You need to enable home sharing in iTunes on MBP and Apple TV. You will also choose which photos to share within iTunes.
Setting up Home Sharing for Apple TV (2nd generation and 3rd generation) - Apple Support
Any movies would need to be imported to iTunes or pointed to it if on external drive.
Back up your iTunes library by copying it to an external drive - Apple Support
The movies would also need to be compatible with Apple TV
H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High or Main Profile level 4.0 or lower, Baseline profile level 3.0 or lower with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
They would then be accessed by going to the Computers icon on Apple TV.
Note: Computer needs to be on with iTunes running.

  • Connection between Mac book pro and thunderbolt Display

When im connecting my mac book pro to the thunderbolt display ,it keep disconnecting from the internet. What i need to do with connection? Please guide me ,what i need to do when im connecting thunderbolt display to my macbook pro and wifi will work?

Bluetooth paring for file transfer is not supported on iPads.
You can use Airdrop if both devices support it, or a 3rd party App, but you cannot directly pair an iPad to a Macbook and transfer a file over the bluetooth connection.

  • How do I connect my Mac Book Pro to a projector I have the adapter but cant get anything on the screen

How do I connect my Mac Book Pro to a projector I have the adapter but cant get anything on the screen

Go to your "screen settings". then chose "find screen" then you vill find the prosjector.
this will probably fix your problem.
if this dont works can it be something wrong with your adapter.
    hope it helps

  • Any ideas how to fix my mac book pro to canon pixma mp640 printer connection?

Anyone have any ideas how to fix my mac book pro to canon pimxa mp640 printer link? The two are connected manually yet the ! remains on the 'print' page next to the printer name. it was working fine until i changed the ink cartridges. Without the wireless password - which I've never had and don't supposedly need as it's not a wireless connection, I am being prevented from resuming printing.

If it's on a windows network you have to enter your (windows) log in (name/password) credentials.
This should be a 1 time event. It will remember it thereafter.

  • How can I connect my Mac Book Pro (year 2008) to the TV set through  HDMI? I've seen a DVI to HDMI iwire but I'm no sure that it is correct. Could anyone help me? Thank you very much.

How can I connect my Mac Book Pro (year 2008) to the TV set through  HDMI? I've seen a DVI to HDMI iwire but I'm no sure that it is correct. Could anyone help me? Thank you very much.

I do not know the iWire adapter, but I use an inexpensive ($3) DVI to HDMI adapter from Monoprice, along with a regular HDMI cable:
    http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419&cs_id=1041902 &p_id=2029&seq=1&format=2
Be aware that this will only transfer video. You Macbook Pro cannot combine audio through DVI to HDMI. You will need to listen to the audio through the Mac speakers, or attach speakers or a sound system to the Mac earphone jack, or determine if your TV has the ability to accept external sound from the Mac while showing video through HDMI (few can).

How can I connect my mac book pro to the HD TV to watch my videos on the TV?

Depending on what model of Macbook Pro you have, you can either wirelessly mirror your computer's monitor (using AirPlay, so an AppleTV is required.) You can also buy and HDMI cable and special adaptor for your Macbook Pro so you can wire your Macbook Pro to your TV via HDMI cable.

This is an example of the adapter you might have to buy. The cable/adapter depends on your Macbook Pro model.

  • I want to connect my Mac Book Pro to the internet in France without any wifi connection available? Mi Fi? Sim card?

I want to connect my Mac Book Pro to the internet in France without any wifi connection available? Mi Fi? Sim card? All we have is a phone signal in this rural French location. I want to be able to Skype to states from there. We have a friend with a 3G ipad who uses an Orange sim card to do it. I would rather not have to buy an Ipad.
    thanks

I found out that the data package for one month useage with MiFi is 1G. How many minutes of online time does that correspond to?
