How to connect my MBP at my TV ?

Hi,
I would like to connect my MBP at my TV via HDMI, peritel would be best , how do I do that ?

So S-Video is better quality than RCA?
Yes. RCA mashes all the signals into one pin. This results in lower picture quality than S-Video which separates brightness and color signals.
Both are far inferior in resolution and quality to the current digital standards, so when you connect your laptop via S-Video, the resolution is going to seem very low and coarse compared to your laptop monitor or digital TV, and RCA even worse. This low resolution can be no problem for simply watching videos. But you'll find it hard to read the Mac interface if you try to use an old TV as a computer monitor. A new digital HDTV, on the other hand, would be a sharp, high-resolution monitor.

Hello Sirs, I'm having a hard time connecting my MBP 13" (mid-2012) to my projector using my mini-display-VGA out adapter. But when I switch to Windows 7 (via bootcamp), it can easily be connected... Please help me with this problem. Thanks

Try connecting the Minidvi to the VGA and connect it all together, first try turning ing on the MBP, then connecting dvi to the the projector. Make sure your projector input is set for VGA. If noo joy invert the affored mentioned proceedure. You should see your image if not, try going to system preferences>displays, click display.   Try readjusting the resolutions in display. reboot monitor.

  • How to connect a MBP to a BENQ external monitor using a HDMI cable and a HDMI to mini display adapter?

Hi, I have just bought a brand new HDMI cable and HDMI to minidisplay adapter  and tried to connect my Macbook Pro up. The external display knows it is there but it is not getting any signal. I have tried on another TV and it also says no signal and I also tried using another Mac but it still didn't work.
    Can anyone help?

In some versions of Mac OS X, with the Displays pane open, holding the Option key will show the detect displays button in the lower right.
I am using OS X Mavericks. Where did the Detect Displays button go?
You can find the Detect Displays button in the Displays section of System Preferences. Once there, press and hold the Option key to see the Detect Displays button in the lower-right corner. You can click this button to manually detect another display.
Another technique is to sleep and wake your computer, which will send the detect display sequence as well.

  • How to connect MBP to MacAir in target

My cursed 15" 2011 MBP has had a disk fail and won't boot. I tried repairing from a disk but it said to back up my files and reinstall. I have a MacAir but is there a way to connect the MBP to the MacAir in target mode so I can run a back up? I know the MacAir doesn't have a ethernet connection which is how I used to do this.

  • How to connect U3014 to MBP Retina?

I have MBP with Retina 13" and I just bought Dell U3014 from amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-30-Inch-PremierColor-Monitor/dp/B00C2RPW8O). This monitor comes with 3 different cables:
    * One of them seems to fit DP in/out ports in the monitor and the other end to the thunderbolt port on mac;
    * Dual Link DVI Cable. It is not use, because I don't have compatible port/adaptor on mac;
    * The 3rd one seems to fit to SS port in the montor and the other end is just a USB which, of course, fits on mac;
I tried many combinations to connect them, but no success so far. Mac does not recognize the monitor, and the monitor keeps showing "No DVI-D Cable. The display will go into Power Save Mode in 5 minutes." I run OS X 10.9.2 (13C64).
    1. How to I connect them?
    2. I also have Windows 7 x64 installed as a Boot Camp. Same issues there, and I would like to know how to connect them in that case too.

    1. Select the firewire drive in the Finder. (Powerbook)
    2. Choose Show Info from the File menu.

  • A 'How to..." question - Connecting a MBP to a HDTV

Just finished installing my new Pioneer HDTV (PDP-427XD) and want to connect my MBP to it. I'm not ready to invest in an Apple TV just yet so I am looking to connect the MBP physically to my HDTV.
Can anyone recommend the best way to do this. I know I need a cable but don't know which one to get.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks for the help.

What you need is a DVI to HDMI cable like this one from monster. The DVI end will hook right up to your MBP and your TV will have a HDMI slot so this is all you need.

Have you enabled Home Sharing in iTunes?
Clearly the MBP and AppleTV need to see each other on the Local Network.
Presumably they are all connecting via the same router.
Check if you have any security software running that might be blocking communication if you have already enabled Home Sharing on the MBP.

How to connect macbook pro to panasonic hd tv with hdmi cable

    Hi m,
It depends which MPB you have and the inputs on the TV. The following assumes your TV has an HDMI input which will work with a computer.
This is if your MBP is from April 2010 or newer:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4241
First connect the adapter to the MBP and the HDMI cable from the adapter to the TV, then go to System Preferences > Sound > Output > select HDMI.
Or if your MBP is older than that and you have a Mini DisplayPort, you can use something like this: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/CBLMDPHDMID/
If it's older than that, for video you need a DVI or mini DVI to HDMI or whatever input your TV has. For audio, you need a 3.5mm stereo mini plug to RCA or optical (Toslink), depending on what audio input your TV has.

  • How to connect with a cable box

I cannot seem to find any information on how to connect up an Apple TV in a system that has an external cable box. I live in NY City where you cannot get cable TV without the external cable box. Where in the set up (along with my DVD player and component audio) do I fit the AppleTV?
    PowerBook G4 15FW800   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   1GB RAM

I've used a 5 X 1 HDMI switch from Monoprice.com and it works just fine. I only have two HDMI inputs on my TV and use one just for the cable box and the other has the 5X1 switch hooked to it. The five ports are: a Toshiba DVR, a Mac Mini, an Apple TV, a DVI to HDMI cable for my MacBook and a spare port hopefully a HD-DVD some day.
One problem is if you calibrate the HDMI port on the TV to a device on the switch, when you switch to a different device the picture may not be optimal for that second (third, fourth or fifth) device. This is not the fault of the switch, rather a function having different devices on one HDMI port.
Rarely, very rarely, when switching to the Apple TV you need to tell it the resolutions for the TV.
Finally, if you are impatient, it takes three seconds or so when switching between devices. Otherwise a switch works great for me.

  • When I connect my MBP to another screen, all fonts turn dark and my VLC screen is really dark!

    Hey.
    Hope anybody can help me.
I have a Macbook Pro with Lion installed.
But... When I connect my MBP to my Samsung 32" screen.
    * My fonts (Only on my Samsung, not on my MBP screen) turn dark, from a light greey to a really dark greey.
      * When my VLC screen is on my MBP its normal, but when I put it on my other screen then it becomes really dark so its impossile to see whats on the screen.
Its the same on every screen i have tried (an LG aswell).
I have had this a couple of weeks now, ever since I borrowed a HDMI adapter from a friend and connected it with my MBP.
Its really becoming a problem. Since I can't watch anything on my screen anymore.
    Does anybody have a solution?

    Try:
    - Going to NF support site/contacting them
    - Try a different adopter
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • MacBook Pro: How to connect to a Dolby TrueHD receiver?

    Hi there,
As there are more and more Blue-ray video's coming out these days I decided I want to switch to blue-ray. Since I own a MacBook Pro (model 2009) I need to attach an external one.
Though, what I wonder is how to get the best audio quality of my mac. Most blue-rays support Dolby TrueHD, and my receiver has an optical in for that. But how can I connect my MacBook Pro to my receiver, so that it truly is Dolby TrueHD (or DTS-HD Master Audio for that matter).
    Thanks!
p.s. Specific brands or types of cables are appreciated, as I guess I'll have to go to the shop to get something.

I'm not sure if I'm reading this correctly (as your MacBook Pro can't play Blu-Ray DVD's) but you can connect the MBP Digital output to the receiver using a Toslink cable like this:
