How to connect my Satellite 5000-104 to a TV?

Hi, hopefully someone can help. I've got an old Toshiba S5000-104 which works perfectly. However, I wanted to connect it to a TV display and there is a very strange combined video-out/line out connector (not a standard composite or s-video) and I do not know the kind of cable which would be needed for connection. If anybody knows, your help would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks
R

For me it is not strange but very good solution because with this cable you can send video and audio signal to the TV. This cable on one side has jack like on headphones and on other side three chinch ports: yellow for video signal and red/white for sound.
I really do not know if you can get it by your local dealer but I am pretty sure you can get one by authorized service partner. Unfortunately I was not able to find picture of this cable.

  • How to connect the Satellite Pro P100 to Hifi

I've got Satellite Pro P100. How to connect this notebook to HiFI
This is probably easy, but what can i say... just call me stupid.
I've got the lead that goes out of the headphone jack, it links up to my hifi nice.
Trouble being, there's a nasty hiss in the background. Tried plugging my boys mp3 player into the lead, and that works fine.
Any chance of some help... thanks

    Hi
In my knowledge you can connect the Sat Pro P100 to HiFi only via a 2-RCA Audio Y cable adapter. In my knowledge the notebook does not support the S/PDIF audio out so you will be able only to use an analog sound port.
You could also buy a stereo adapter with 2x cinch jacks to connect the notebook to the Hifi. Such adapter can be plugged into the headphone jack
    Check this:

I think you should visit the nearest notebook dealer. He can show you the right and supported cables and adapters.

  • How to connect my Satellite A200 with a Philips LCS TV?

Hi, I have problems to connect my Satellite A200 1E1 with a Philips 32 PF9967D LCD-TV HD ready.
The manuals recommend a HDMI extension that is unfortunately not availble with my Laptop.
However, isn't is possible to use a S-Video connection instead? I could accept a reduced quality. When I connect the Laptop with the TV, I have the impression that the Satellite does not send any signal out. The "FN F5" combination does not show the opportunity to switch between the screens. Once I connected a beamer and had no problems at all with switching between beamer, laptop screen or both.
Any comments would be highly appreciated, thanks a lot in advance.

    Hello
In user manuals is written in almost each chapter about ports or slots a short comment: depending on configuration. That means that this users manuals can be used for different A200 notebook models.
Every notebook delivered with HD-DVD optical disc drive has also an HDMI port. According the notebook specification your notebook has no HD-DVD ODD and because of that there is also no HDMI port.
For TV-out there is sonly one port S-Video. Using this port you can send video signal to your TV. I have LCD TV too and I have used it many times with my A200 notebook. It is very simply but be sure you use the right channel (S-Video) on your TV. Using FN+F5 key combination you can switch to the TV.
If this does not work you are doing something wrong.

  • How to connect my Satellite E105-S1402 to an external projector?

    Hi everybody
I own a Satellite E105-S1402 that has an HDMI port. Unfortunately, the projector we use in my office is not HD ready so it has regular VGA input connector (DB9). How can I connect it to this type of projectors? Do I have to use a digital to analog converter? If yes, which one? Is there a cable adaptor?
    pls Help!!!!

    Hi
The Sat E105 was not known to me until now ;)
Well buddy, generally its possible to convert the digital video signal in analog signal (but not analog in digital ? )
To be honest I never tried to connect a non HD device to a HDMI port but maybe the converter like this one would functions:

Visit electronic store and buy high quality HDMI cable. Talk with your local dealer and pick up info which one they have.
To connect your laptop to the TV is simply.
Connect both devices with the HDMI cable, choose HDMI channel on TV and use FN+F5 to switch to TV.
    Everything should be OK.

  • How to connect my Satellite A300-1J1 to HD TV

    Hello
I have a Toshiba laptop model Satellite A300-1J1 (which does not have a HDMi socket) & have just purchased Toshiba XV551D 40" HD tv. Want to be able to connect laptop to tv with the best picture quality possible, would a DVI to HDMI cable be better than the standard 15pin monitor to external monitor/tv cable?
My laptop has a IEEE1394 socket, i'm presuming this is the same as a DVI socket??? (I could be wrong tho!) Also on reading the tv manual, it says unless I am connecting HDMI to HDMI, I would need a separate audio cable?
Please advise asap, I'm looking to buy all necessary leads online rather than go shopping so want to make sure I get correct leads from the off.
And apologies if i sound thick lol.
    Thanks

HDMI or DVI will be the best quality.
15pin VGA is analog and has a limited resolution.
If your TV has speakers, you can simply use HDMI to output the sound to the TV (HDMI includes audio signals).
If you use DVI, you will need an Audio Cable from the headphone jack on the laptop, to your Speakers/Hifi.
IEEE1394 or FireWire is not a video connector. It is similar to a USB port, primarily used to transfer video/audio from a camcorder to your PC.

  • How to connect my Satellite L300 to the TV?

    Hi...
I have a Toshiba Satellite L300-2C4 and wish to connect it to my Toshiba 32HV10E plazma
The tv have a hdmi input, so I bought VGA adaptor and connect it to the computer
    Unfortunately it doesnt work.
The computer can recognise the tv but not the same with the plazma
    Anyone?

    I agree with Tom.
Problem is that your notebook has external monitor port only and can send video signal only. Many TVs have such port but I dont know if this plazma TV has such port too.
As Tom already wrote try with VGA adapter.
    > The computer can recognise the tv but not the same with the plazma
To be honest this sentence is not so clear to me.

  • How to connect my Satellite A100 to TV?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-285 and I really want to connect it to the TV.
Can anyone tell me what cable I would need to do that?
We have no pc world or any shops like that up here.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello
It is very simply to do this. All you need is S-Video cable. S-Video port is placed on the left side near the I.Link. Please note that this cable can transfer the video signal only.

The television is a samsung 1080p one, i would be grateful for some advice.
    Many thanks
    Claire

    Hello Claire
I presume you use your notebook with original preinstalled OS that you got with your notebook so it should work without problems.
Connect your notebook to the TV with HDMI cable. If your TV has several HDMI ports please enable right port on TV and after doing this use FN+F5 key combination to switch from notebook to the TV.
When you use FN+F5 key combination can you see several options including HDMI option?

  • How to connect my Satellite C660-119 to TV

I wish to connect C660-119 laptop to TV but there appears not to be a HDMI port.
Can you advise alternative solution ?

It is a bit complicated due to missing HDMI port. According notebook specification your notebook has RGB port only and it can be used if you want to connect external display. This port sends video signal only.
You can use this port to send picture to the TV too. I dont know which TV do you have and which ports has your TV but for sound you need separate audio cable.
    It a bit complicated.

  • System check on Satellite 5000-104

how can i check weather my system has any major problems?

    Hi Gary,
That's a very general question and to be perfectly honest, I'm not entirely sure how best to answer! What sort of problems did you have in mind? As a general rule, things like viruses and spyware are best checked for using specific ant-virus and anti-spyware software.
As for "broad" system problems (for example the graphics card not working properly or a printer not correctly installed), you can get a quick overview from Control Panel, opening "System" and selecting the Hardware tab, then the Device Manager button.
This will open up a long-ish list of stuff like hard drives, usb ports, displays etc. Don't worry too much about understanding all of the items on the list, some of the system devices are a little obscure! Anything not enabled (so the system doesn't even try to use them) will have a little red "x" next to it, anything with a problem will have a little yellow "warning triangle" next to it.
For the most part, bugs or glitches in the oprating system only show up when a specific peice of code tries to run, and it would be near-on impossible to write a program that can effectively test for all possible combinatins of everything, so its best to deal with these as you encounter them.
I hope this helps, if you have any specific problems, post away on the forums and we'll see what we can do to help!

We will need to check some settings on your Mac or PC, but in order to do that, we need to know what operating system you are using on your computer.
If you have a Mac, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the computer screen, then click About This Mac. Post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.
