How to connect old aiport express to my new Airport Extreme?
I have a PC running with Win7 and just replaced my Jensen With a brand New Airport Extreme.
I have set up the Airport Extreme to the internet, Iphones and Ipads and it work as it should.
I have downloaded latest Version of Airport tool on my PC. In addition i have downloaded the airport tool for Ipad.
I have reset one of my airport Express and it now shows up both on the Ipad and on the PC airport tool.
My Ipad says "base station e5713b cannot be configured."
I have wired the airport Express to my Ethernet to be able to "see it" on my Airport tool.
My AirPort tool on the PC will not permit me to add the airport Express to my new Airport Extreme network (no network names on the drop-down list to choose from). I wished for an easy set-up, but nothing seems to be plug and play as the Commercial says.. can you please help me?

Yep - I in fact have two A1088 and one A1264
I actually bought the new router because the Jensen
router always lost connection to the Airport Express after some hours or days. I
always needed to restart my Jensen to play music and that was driving my wife
mad. The hope was that the Extreme should fix this. Both A1088 have been set up
to only stream music to two of my stereo amplifiers from my PC’s Itunes library.
Are the A1088 now useless?
The A1264 has been set up to feed internet into a Denon Reciever that needed Ethernet cable.

I got a new iphone (& today a new iPad) both come up when attached to my laptop as another persons name in my household. I want to add my phone & Ipad to the devices, but it doen'st give me that option to add this phone or ipad - they are listed under the wrong persons names... how can I change the devices name??? very frustrating - THANK YOU!!!
I'm afraid you've misunderstood the nature of data on your computer. Yes, you can log into Facebook, GMail, YouTube etc. from any computer and all the content appears in front of you. The same is not true for documents and data created and stored on your own computer. Your iTunes library is this kind of data. It should be backed up on a regular basis and copied to your new computer when you switch machines.

When I updated firefox none of my bookmarks were kept and it will not allow me to post any bookmarks. I get a message saying an error occurred try again later. I use Vista as my OS.
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I moved to new house where I have wifi base station I made extension via TP-link power line adapter and connect my Airport utility 6.3.2, but I don't now how to set up as a second network with one IP address?Could you help me please?

It's in AirPort Utility, AirPort panel, Wireless tab.
When I'm within the range of the base station I connect normally, but further away the connection drops despite the fact that the other Airport is very close and light is green. Interestingly, my PB Pro has signal almost everywhere in the house, but my iPhone and Mac Mini don't. Most likely just a hardware difference?
In AirPort Utility with the second Express, in the AirPort panel, Wireless tab, have you checked "Allow wireless clients"?
The second AP does show an IP address: 10.0.1.3.
With a "Configure IPv4" setting of "Using DHCP", that suggests that the second Express really is connecting to the first Express. In that case I have no other explanation of your your problem. -

Airport Utility fails to see Airport Extreme Only an Older Base Station no longer connected
Very weird what's happened... earlier this morning there was a power failure (none of my 2 computers were ON, and they are plugged in thru UPS with power surge/outage capabilities).
I turned my old Macbook Pro (2007) and everythign is fine. My Mac Pro (2008) is fine but it can't connect to the internet.
I've resetted both the modem and the Airport Extreme Base Station.
I've restarted and resetted the PRAM on my Mac Pro.
I've tried many times to diagnose it/change settings/create new network with Network and Airport Utility to no avail.
When I open Airport Utility on the Macbook Pro, it shows the Airport Extreme and it all looks fine... when I open Airport Utility on the Mac Pro, it only sees an old Snow/Graphite Base Station I haven't had plugged in in a log time. It doesn't see anything else.
I've tried trashing the Airport Utility preferences as well... but still nothing. The Wif Fi icon shows a '!'. When I click on it, the pull down menu shows an "Alert: No Internet Connection", but it still shows my network (and the neighbours' network) and it even has the check mark next to my network... ???
I'm running 10.8.5 and Airport Utility 6.3.1.
Please. Help.Just a quick update, spent 90 minutes on the phone with apple support today. If I boot the mac in safe mode, the airport utility can see the base station.
In the course of trouble shooting, a test account was created, but the airport utility had the same issue. It proved that there isn't anything wrong with any of the hardware at the very least, and points to user level configuration problems (unfortunately, I was not able to sort that out with support).

I downloaded the new version of Pages and it has reverted to the old version. It will not let me re-install the new version because it thinks it has it installed
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5.1 files can not be opened in Pages 5.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

I see. If you go to Settings>General>About>Name, that is the current name of your phone. The backup bearing that name should be the more recent one, and therefore the one you want to keep. I would delete the other one (presumably the one set up by Best Buy under your real name, assuming you changed it later), then see if that gives you enough space to back up again.
If it still reporting insufficient storage, use this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4847 to try to determine what's taking up all your room. In them meantime, you can perform a manual backup on your computer so your have a current one while you're troubleshooting this. To do so, connect your phone to iTunes, then right-click on the name of your phone on the left side and select Back Up. -
I opened my ical and all my events had been erased and all my claendar accounts were gone and it will not allow me to add new events or accounts.

Thanks so much for wading in. I did exactly what you suggested - glad you gave me the hint about how to access my library files. There was only one document that seemed to have anything to do with cache, and that was called Calendar Cache. (I've attached a screen capture of all the files incase I should have deleted something else as well.) I deleted Calendar Cache then restarted iCal, but after updating I was still unable to add new events.
Is there anything else you can suggest?

Why is it that when I delete a song off my 4th generation I touch it will not allow me to add it again. I manage my music manually (no syncing). I can add a new song, but as soon as I delete it on my I touch, I can't put it back on.
I never heard of that problem before. I I can suggest is the stand fixes:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
