Hi.
Before to re-install Windows, I saved my Firefox Sync Key.
After windows installation, I can't to access my firefox sync account to get my bookmarks! It says: unknown account, register!
But I have a KEY, I need my bookmarks back!
Help me, please, to recovery my bookmarks back!

You must have been using a quite old Firefox version if that version still used a distinct Sync key.
Firefox 29 and later no longer use a specific Sync key, but derive the Sync key from the password of the Firefox Account that you use to log in to this account.

You would need a Firefox 28 version to connect to an old Sync account that used the Sync key.

Encrypted wireless networks use either 40-bit or 128-bit keys. The key is conveyed in either eight-bit (ASCII) or four-bit (hexadecimal) encoding.
When using hexadecimal, each character in the final encryption key is four bits long when converted to binary.
The 26 characters of a 128-bit key add up to 104 bits. This 104-bit password is combined with a 24-bit random number, called the initialization vector, to create the 128-bit encryption key. The initialization vector is supplied with each packet of information sent and is part of the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) algorithm and 802.11b standard.
With 40-bit encryption, the 10 hexadecimal characters equal 40 bits, which are then combined with the initialization vector to create the 64-bit encryption key. In this case the 40-bit name is a misnomer; it is actually a 64-bit encryption key.

go to 'Edit' in the menu bar. Then choose 'Preferences'.
you'll see a pop-up and there's a tab called 'Devices' there. If you click that, you will be able to check a box that says 'prevent automatic syncing for iPods, iPads and iPhones' or something like that.

NB: if you don't even see the menu bar that has options like 'File, Edit, View, etc', first click the black/white square button on the top left of your screen, and then click 'show menu bar'. It should pop right up.

Downloaded new 4.0 today and decided to download and sync mobile to my HTC EVO 4g which seems to work but how do I make Firefox the homepage on phone?

Have had Firefox for years on my mac and works great. Downloaded today new 4.0 on desktop mac OS 10.6.7 and works great. Have sync and decided to follow instructions to download Firefox to my HTC EVO 4G. Seemed to download correctly and did get the 3 part key and entered fine. Firefox icon shows up with icon in list of All apps and will work if clicked upon.
But, how do I make Firefox my home page on my phone? When I select magnifying glass key on glass I go to standard google homepage I've had since day one. I'd like to go directly to Firefox as I do on the desktop.

Oops, I forgot a step between 7 and 8 ... before syncing the iPhone I need to explicitly send the document back to iTunes on the iPhone, or the changes won't come over at all ...
and then one more thing ... Numbers on iOS does NOT recognize a number of key features of the OSX app, such as conditional formatting ... so after editing my document on iOS and syncing it back to OSX on my Mac, all of those settings are lost (no more conditional formatting, have to do it all over again)

Your phone connected, iTunes running, under the "Apps" tab, you've selected this app to install on your phone, correct? Hit the "Apply/Sync" button, lower right on the Apps tab, what happens?

How do I turn off, disable, remove Sync from my copy of Firefox.

I have two computers, one for work and one for home. I have completely ignored the message that comes up at the bottom of the screen on the work computer asking me to set up sync. On that machine, passwords I have saved remain, regardless of how many times I restart Firefox.
On my home machine, I once got sucked into trying to set up sync and now it forgets every password everytime I restart Fiirefox. I check before I shut down and, yes, there are passwords saved, but once I shut down and restart, it tosses all of them away. I LOATHE THIS FEATURE. Actually this happened to me today and although it would not let me play the file it allowed me to use that same file i had exported from iphotos but could not play and then it allowed me to open it in imovie (you can go to import and then get it from the desktop or wherever) although I made a couple of changes to it the main thing is once you drag it into the space to begin a new project you can then right click and select open in finder and that file actually plays......if its cause i made some changes to it i.e trimmed it slightly then its worth doing so.

I use different home pages at work and at home and I would like to prevent the home page from syncing.

There are services.sync.prefs.sync prefs related to which prefs to sync and you can set the corresponding services.sync pref to false to prevent syncing that pref.
You can set the pref services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.startup.homepage to false on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

HT1535 How do I do a one-way sync from computer to I-pad? Outlook Contacts only. It has already been synced and there is bad info on I-pad that I don't want on my computer.

How do I do a one way sync from contacts in computer (Outlook), to contacts on I pad (also for I-phone)? Contacts on I-Pad are incorrect and I do not want to add them back to my computer?
Alternatively, is there any way to delete contact groups all at once instead of one contact at a time?

1. Create a new Profile.
