How to connect to hp Photosmart printer

HOw do I connect  my hp Photosmart printer to print from my iiPad

First make sure its in the list of supported printers here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
Once you confirm its supported. You'll need to set the Printer up to connect to your Wifi Network. Follow the Printer's manual to do so.
Once that is done go to an App that can print such as Notes, or Mail, and click on the Send icon. (The rectangle) with the arrow coming out of it to one side, or simply the Arrow twisting to one side).
Select Print , and then click on Select Printer, the iPad will attempt to find the Printer on your wireless network, if it recognizes it, you'll then be able to click the Print button to immediately Print. No setup is really necessary.

How to connect my iPad, Brother printer, and AirPort Extreme?

I don't believe any of the Brother printers are AirPrint-enabled. Is your Brother printer network-ready? That is, does is support either/both a wired or wireless connection or just uses USB to connect?

  • How to connect to the USB printer

I connect a USB printer to the USB port of my Airport Extreme.  Can someone help advise the procedure for the computers in the network to connect to the USB printer.  Thanks!

Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations. In addition, the  AirPort's USB port does not support the "advanced" printer functions, like scanning, copying or faxing, of multi-function printers.
To see if your printer is compatible, take a look at thisiFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility link. If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.
Also you can try this Apple Tech Support article to see if it will help: Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule
Finally, check out this IBM support article to see if your printer is listed as having a Postscript or PCL3 interface. If it does, then it will most likely work with the AirPort's USB port. Printers that use the "HP LIDIL" interface must be connected to a computer directly and will not work.

  • How to connect to an online printer

trying to connect to an online printer at my job (BrotherHL 2280 DW).  used an online website http://welcome.solutions.brother.com.  downloaded a driver (?) still having trouble making a connection.  can anyone help and speak to me in simple terms?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
To help diagnose your problem, let me list some logical steps in the installation process.
Which steps have you completed so far?
    1) You're at work with your computer and so in the Brother HL 2280 DW printer, hopefully nearby.
    2) The Brother printer is already installed on the (wireless?) network at work.
    3) Others in the office with other computers (Windows or Mac or both) do already connect and successfully print and scan to the printer using the network.
    4) This is the first time you're trying connect to the (wireless?) network for any reason using your MacBook.
    5) Your MacBook is successfully connected to the wireless network, but this is the first time you're trying to connect to the Brother printer in order to print or scan.
    6) You've already downloaded the proper driver for MacBook (OS X 10.6.8) from the Brother website
    7) You've located the Brother driver you just downloaded and have installed it successfully.
    8) During the driver installation, you have successfully located the printer on the (wireless?) network and finished all steps of the printer installation.
    9) You can see the Brother printer is installed when you open System Preferences, Hardware, Print & Fax
    10) You've completed steps 1-9, but the Brother printer still won't print or scan for you, even though others can print and scan with it, and you get some kind of error message like 'Printer Paused', 'Printer offline', 'Printer not found'
If you're still online and still looking for a solution, I'll be online for about 1/2 hour after this is posted around 1:15 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time US.
After that, I'll be offline for the next 8 hours or so, until around 9 a.m. EDT US.

  • How to connect HP 6988 to print wirelessly if you cannot connect

To restore lost wireless connection with HP 6988
Connect Ethernet cable from printer to router
Press second from right button to print report
Type IP address on report into browser url
Printer menu should be displayed on screen
Go to wireless setup and start wizard
Select network name and type in password
    Save and close menu
Disconnect Ethernet cable from printer and router (wireless light on printer should light up)
    Printer should now print
If not, delete printer and add printer
    Should now print

The printers will not appear automatically (on a WIndows computer), you will have to add them.

  • Losing connection with B210a photosmart printer on my Mac: tried everything

    Hi there,
I'm a new Dutch guy here, so sorry if I appear newbie-ish and if my English is imperfect...
I've recently bought an iMac (finally!) and a wireless HP Photosmart B210a printer. I'm having trouble with my printer, which is connected wirelessly through a TP-Link WR1043N router.
After I installed the printer, I was able to print and even scan wirelessly. But after a while, I somehow can no longer print or scan. This problem persists even after re-installing the printer.
This is what I did trying to solve the issue:
1 uninstall the printer using the hp uninstall utility, using the 'scrubbed method' (pressing <ctrl><option><command> when clicking Uninstall)
2 delete any item containing "hp" of "print" in its name in the preferences folder in the library
3 reset the printing system by pressing <ctrl> and clicking the printer list in system preferences
4 run software update from the apple menu
5 download the latest printer drivers from hp.com (PS_AIO_08_B210_USW_Full_Mac_WW_74.dmg) and install the printer
6 reserve an IP-address for the printer in the router settings
7 set the ip-address in the printer's wireless settings
8 download the latest printer drivers from the apple website via this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907 and install them (executing packet scripts takes a lot more time than indicated: 'less than a minute' appears to be an arguable period of time)
Unfortunately this doesn't do the trick for me
When I print a page, it works the first time but after that I simply can't print. The print job is stuck, while the print task list keeps searching for the printer indicates that it is off line.
I can access the printer's built-in web server by entering it's IP-address in my web browser (I can even scan using this web page!). When I run the wireless setup wizard on the printer, the stuck print job comes out eventually...
    Any suggestions?

Great English and good troubleshooting so far!
Here are a couple of more things to try:
    - When you reserve an IP for the printer, reserve an IP outside the DHCP range of the router.
    - If this does not work, try unplugging the DSL line and rebooting the router without it.  If the printer works as expected, then it is your ISP doing funny things to the router.  I would recommend getting your own router (to install on top of your ISP's).

  • How to connect an Ethernet laser printer to a wireless network?

hi, I have three computers on an Airport Xpress wireless network. I have an (non-USB) HP Laserjet 4100 that has a network card (10/100tx HP Jetdirect 600N). How do I connect this printer to my network? Can I wire it directly to one of my computers using a standard ethernet cable? or do I have to set up a hub? Any insight most appreciated!

There's another way to do it...
I have a Linksys wireless router for my home network (and internet) and have my HP LaserJet 4000 hooked up to it, and all my computers can print to it. However, it does require a Windows computer for set-up, because HP makes the set-up utility for Windows only. (I set it up with my Intel Mac running Win)
    Follow these instructions:

    Hope it helps.

This printer is not AirPrint compatible but you can still print photos, documents, and scanned items using these free Canon Apps in the AppStore:

There's also a commercial app called Print n Share that will let you print web pages from Safari

Not sure of the specifics of your network/computers, I use Airprint Activator on my Mac which offers up any installed printer on the network as an 'Airprint' printer which iphones/ipads can see.

  • EA3500 router, can't connect hp 4795 photosmart printer

I just got this router in the mail today, and connected it to my network. I tried to connect my priner to my network via the device menu, and it's not coming through the list of available connections. So I tried connecting through the linksys smart wifi menu under device list > add device and theirs no option to do so other then connecting it through the usb. Is there another way to do this, cause I had the cisco valet before hand and I didn't have to do that before.

How about a power cycle? Power down the router and the printer for a minute and re-connect the printer. Ensure that you are successfully connected to the network and check again if the printer will appear in the Device List.
Another way is to connect it using the WPS feature as shown on this guide.
You may also try to manually update or re-flash the router’s firmware. Download the firmware here and check out the guide from this link.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to connect to Linksys Wireless Print Server (WPS54GU2) from WIndows 7

I tried the Print Server Utility that was loaded from the WPS54GU2 user install disk. Ended up with an AddPort error.
Went ahead and created local printer for printer I was trying to get to (Epson Color Stylus 400). Did a "Printer Properties" on the printer after it is was created and clicked on the "Port" tab. Clicked on the "Add Port" button and selected "Standard TCP/IP Port" from list. Clicked on "New Port" . Wizard came up and clicked "Next" on this screen. I typed in the IP address of my Print Server (with no Port Name) and let it search for a while and it eventually failed. A screen came up requesting "additional port information" so I clicked on the "Custom" button and then clicked on the"Settings" button. Here I typed in the correct port name (which in my case was like LKxxxxxx where the x's are numerics). The IP address is already filed in. I checked the LPR button and made up a Queue Name and typed it into the Queue Name text box.
After clicking OK I tried printing to the printer and everything seemed to work correctly.

    Corleone
I have the same issue as I have a new Windows 7 machine that is hardwired to my Linksys WPS54G.  This is my main office PC and I have other computers throughout the house that are connected wirelessly to the WPS54G.  I've tried to create a new port for printing based on the posts from other users but it still won't work.  I've run the Linksys configuration and my PC sees the printer server.  Am I missing a step?
    Here is what I've done
    Go to ports
    Add new port
    Standard TCP/IP Port
Click new port (Wizard comes up)
Enter printer name and IP address ( I enter my IP address for the Print Server 192.168.1.x)- Port name is same as IP Address (does this matter?)
Go to custom settings and set for LPR with Queue name of LP1 (or should it be L1?)
    LPR Byte count box checked
    Click next and finish
Do I need to restart my computer?
    What am I missing
    Thank you

  • How to connect a HP LaserJet Printer P1102w to my Toshiba Laptop

I have just bought a LaserJet P1102w printer, but i cant seem to install it on my Toshiba laptop (or a HP laptop). I have tried the instruction that came with the product, the disc, the HP website, HP help support in Sydney (Who couldnt even install it when he logged into my computer). I have tried 2 different cables. but as soon as it get to the bit saying "waiting for you to connect the device", thats where it stops. (on both computers). The guy at HP told me to take the printer back and get another one as it might be a hardware problem. But this new one still does the same. I have however been able to print a test page by holding down the X button. I am starting to get really frustrated now. Could anyone help me ?? Thanks

Thanks for the reply . I have been only plugging in the cable when asked for and not at the beginning. However just tried again (for the millionth time lol) and still not happening

Hello @royjohn , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
can see you're looking into connecting your printer.
I'd love to help, but I have a few questions first:
What version of Windows are you using?
Are you using a 32-bit or 64-bit system?
Are you connecting via a wireless connection, or a USB connection?
I'm including a couple of documents on finding your OS information:
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Good luck and please let me know the results of your findings. Thanks again for posting on the HP Forums!
