How to connect to pointbase inside Workshop Studio?
I create a new WLS domain, and startup pointbase. From pointbase console I create a new pointbase(named test_wls8) with port 9093. Inside Studio, I open the blank DbXpolorer view and create a "new connection".
The driver classpath I choiced is:
C:\bea814\weblogic81\common\eval\pointbase\lib\pbserver44.jar
The JDBC driver class is:
"om.pointbase.jdbc.jdbcUniversalDriver"
The DB URL is:
jdbc:pointbase:server://localhost:9093/test_wls8
The username and password of the DB is correct.
After I finished the above, I press "Test Connection" to test. But there come out a dialog said: "Database connection failed to open: No suitable driver".
I don't know what's wrong with my config. Are there anybody met it before? Thanks!
Yes, using pbclient44.jar should work fine. Try the following steps.
- Edit connection, make sure pbclient44.jar is the only file in "Driver Classpath" - Click OK
- Quit Workshop
- Relaunch
- Edit Connection & Test
- With this you should be able to obtain a connection
In case even this attempt fails, please delete the existing connection > Quit Workshop > Relaunch > Create a new connection selecting "pbclient44.jar"

Can any one help me to find documentation and sample related this task?
I'm interested into this topics:
- is it possible to manage a CFT-2000 ethernet device with MAX? In ordere to use that device can i use DAQmx?
- which kind of data I will receive over ethernet raw, scaled..
- is it possible to select one particular board of AI?
- is it possible to execute multiple application (LabView and measurement Studio) connected with the same CFTP-2000 controller into one PC?
Any help is appreciate

How to connect BR*TOOLS STUDIO to oracle on windows server
HI ,
We have some oracle databases on AIX and few on windows 2003 servers.
BR*TOOLS studio connects fine to AIX systems but How to connect it to
windows servers.
I tried to use free utility "psexec". but then studio log shows following error.
ERROR 2008/12/02 12:21:13 [Tools] Instance SLB reports
exception while running job Control Files: CreateProcess: psexec
vmsld2 -u slbadm -p ba5al1te brspace -confirm force -language E -
user / -function dbshow -class cfinfo -file all_cf error=2
However if I execute "psexec
vmsld2 -u slbadm -p ba5al1te brspace -
confirm force -language E -user / -function dbshow -class dbstate"
remotely from dbstudio server at command line, it works fine.
So, Is DB*TOOLS STUDIO only for UNIX systems or can it be used for
WINDOWS also ? IF yes then How ??Hai,
Have you followed the below mentioned steps:
In your BR*Tools Studio home directory, call:
In UNIX
csh server.sh
In Windows
server.cmd
This script starts a web application server based on Oracle Containers for Java
EE (OC4J), which serves as the runtime platform for the web application of
BR*Tools Studio server.
You need to run this command whenever you want to start the server for
BR*Tools Studio in future.
2. Log on to BR*Tools Studio server through a web browser from any client
using the following URL:
https://<host>:<port>/studio
Note
(C) SAP AG September 2008 Page 11
Once BR*Tools Studio server is available, a client logon window appears.
Make sure that you have enabled pop-ups for this site so that the logon
window is visible.
You need to run this command whenever you want to start a client session
with BR*Tools Studio.
The client logon window provides you with a list of all instances currently
maintained for administration with BR*Tools Studio. The only instance
available directly after installation is the Server instance, with which you can
maintain the server landscape.
As far as I know there are some unresolved bugs still existing in BR tools studio which is under process.
Since you are able to open the studio with AIX you should be able to open in Windows as well.
Have you checked your Keystore file.

Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate - how to connect to multiple TFS Servers?
Hi Folks,
I have to use two different Team Foundation servers (different solutions on each one). I have connected to one TFS server using Team Explorer, but I cannot work out how to connect to the second server. I have the settings 'Connect:
Offline' - but I cannot find the dialog where I can enter the address of the other TFS Server.
On previous versions of Visual Studio, one could 'Disconnect' and then choose 'Connect to Team Project', however, that option no longer seems to be available.
When I try and open the solution that is on the other server I get binding not found errors and cannot checkout the solution.

AndyHi Andy,
Thanks for your post.
In Team Explorer, click Select Team Project… to open the

How to connect imac to tv?
Hello All!
I was wondering how to connect the imac 27in i5 to my hdtv. does apple offer a HDMI adapter?
thanks!Hello I believe I'm attempting the same thing, and have a few further questions. Specifically this is for connecting a 27" iMac to a Samsung 46" tv.
I thought I had the video portion down when I bought this cord:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002J28NQ/ref=oss_product
I still think that may be the right cord. It connects fine to this Apple adaptor cord that came with the computer... I have two of them in fact. However the smaller end of the cord is not the same as what is on this Apple adaptor cord:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB570Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDA3Ng&mco=MTA4NDU0ODY
I think is the one I used, it has all the pins inside the little end.
http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9320G/A?fnode=MTY1NDA3Ng&mco=MTA4NDU0OTc
I have purchased this audio cord as well which I'm confident is fine, though hasn't arrived yet:

Could someone help me sort out the video side though?!?! THANK YOU -

Others have a ThunderBolt, which is backward-compatible with Mini DisplayPort. Get a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, and make sure you insert it until essentially ALL of the metal end is inside the jack, and you will be in business. -
Problem Connecting to PointBase
Hi,
I am trying to connect to pointbase database on my machine using JSPs.
My pointbase system is the one that comes with J2EE bundle.
And I am using Sun Java Application Server for hosting JSPs.
This is the code I use to connect:
InitialContext ic = new InitialContext();
DataSource ds = (DataSource) ic.lookup(dbName);
Connection con = ds.getConnection();And I get the following exception:
============
java.sql.SQLException: Error in allocating a connection. Cause: Connection could not be
allocated because: Database SAMPLE does not exist or cannot be found in database home
/pointbase/databases specified either specify database.home=<folder> in pointbase.ini or use the
<URL>;database.home=<folder> to indicate the database folder. pointbase.ini should be available
in the current folder or you can specify the location for pointbase.ini with java -D:property=value
where "property" is pointbase.ini and "value" is <path>pointbase.ini.================
I do not know the exact settings to make and where to make them.
I am guessing I somehow need to specify these properties in some script file.
Please let me know how to solve this problem if you know it.
Thanks
Hamidwell this is certainly a configuration issue. can you connect to and access the database from a client tool? i'd try that just to make sure the database is alive and well. then i'd check the dbName or URL to make sure you are pointing to the right place. and forgive me for asking the simple questions, but did you create the database? did you start the database?
also, i see a lot of people are accessing databases in JSP's these days. maybe i'm old school or something, but everywhere i've worked you'd be shot for doing it. is it just me? or is this a just-for-fun type of project -

How to connect sql developer OE schema and Hr schema,
Hi ,
I downloaded Oracle 10g express edition and SQL developer downloaded in my computer, I don't know how to connect to OE and HR schema, by default the SQL developer and Oracle 10g has only sytem and sys database. And as well I wanted to migrate datas from third party datas , could anyone please , pllease guide me. I am new to this field and just started to learn. what is listener and how to activate Listener and Repositary
Please guide me.
Thanks in advance
ChanThe HR schema installs fine in XE, but the OE schema doesn't quite. I've done it, but there will be errors. The reason is that the OE schema uses some features of XML DB that are not supported in XE. If you want to use the OE schema in XE and you don't mind if it isn't a complete OE schema, then you can get the installation scripts from an Oracle SE or EE installation.
You can also get it from the companion disk for Oracle SE or EE, but this is a bit challenging, because you can't get it by running OUI unless you first install Oracle SE or EE. You need to run an archive utility like WinZip or 7-Zip and look for the scripts inside a compressed file - I forget which one, but I'll look it up if you like. Oh, and since the OE schema isn't really supposed to be installed on XE, Oracle does not support any of the methods for putting it there. -

Hi All,
How to connect the Oracle database using C/C++ on Mac OS X? I have used Instant Client library "instantclient-basic-macosx-10.1.0.3" provided by the Oracle but could not be success. I'm using PowerPC G4, Mac OS X 10.4.9, and XCode version 2.4.1.
Specially Mr Oscar Armanini has done this in C on Mac OS X. Please let me know. I would be very thankful to you.
Thanks,
GhufranHi Ghufran
there are two Metalink Notes on using Instant Client with PowerPc Mac:

How to Install, Configure and Test Oracle 10g Instant Client Basic,

How to Install, Configure and Test Oracle 10g Instant Client Basic,
SQL*Plus and SDK Packages for Mac OS X
(Runs OCCI sample code - occidml.cpp)
The first Metalink Note uses an OCI examples and it is pasted here below,
in case you don't have a Metalink ID.
The second Metalink Note uses an OCCI example.
I have never used Instant Client (neither on Os X or on other platform),
but I was successful on compiling C programs (no GUI involved) using the
Full Client installed on my PowerBook G4.
I'm a DBA, but I was a developer years ago (about when Oracle 7.3
was considered a giant step forward): I installed the Oracle 10.1 db
(a complicated job for a developer) and I got the Full Client
installed as well, for free, so I was happy to compile one of the demo C sources
(those that you can find in the Oracle Pro*C manuals:
by the way, Oracle Pro*C manuals are really worth reading).
Good luck
Oscar
Applies to: Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.1.0.3
Apple Macintosh PowerPC
Goal
This article will show you how to install and configure your 10g Instant Client (IC) Software for the Mac.
It will install the following packages:
the Basic package
the SQL*Plus package and
the SDK package
and then test its connectivity to an Oracle database using SQL*Plus.
It will also show you how to setup and test a sample program, cdemo81.c, that uses the Oracle Call Interface (OCI)
to connect to the database.
The sample program is located under the <Instant_Client>/sdk/demo directory.
Solution1. Download the following three (3) files from the Oracle Technology Network (OTN) website.
You will need an account to do this.
Macintosh OS X 10g Instant Client Software
a. instantclient-basic-macosx-10.1.0.3.zip (32,395,622 bytes)
b. instantclient-sqlplus-macosx-10.1.0.3.zip (326,740 bytes)
c. instantclient-sdk-macosx-10.1.0.3.zip (293,913 bytes)
NOTE: The above three (3) files will be updated as new patches are released for the 10g Instant Client software. 10.1.0.3 or later versions (10.1.0.x) of these files may be used similarly with this article.
2. Save the following text into a file called tnsnames.ora:
# If you receive an
# ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
# error when running the setup script and attempting to connect to Oracle
# from SQL*Plus then the name of your SERVICE NAME (i.e. ORCL) may require
# that you include the DOMAIN (i.e. US.ORACLE.COM) in order to connect successfully.
# To obtain the DOMAIN of your environment, type "hostname" from your shell
# and it should report this information back to you. Configure your SERVICE
# NAME to look like Example 2.
# Example 1
ORCL =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = database_machine.us.oracle.com)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SID = orcl)
# Example 2
#ORCL.US.ORACLE.COM =
# (DESCRIPTION =
# (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = database_machine.us.oracle.com)(PORT = 1521))
# (CONNECT_DATA =
# (SERVER = DEDICATED)
# (SID = orcl)
3. Save the following text into a file called sqlplus_script.sql:
SELECT user FROM dual;
SELECT sysdate FROM dual;
SELECT 'successful ' AS TEST_RESULTS FROM dual;
exit;
4. Save the following text into a file called setup1:

# DESCRIPTION
# ===========
# This script will install and configure your 10g Instant Client (IC) Software
# for the Mac. It will install the Basic, SQL*Plus and SDK (OCI/OCCI) packages
# and then test its connectivity to an Oracle database using SQL*Plus.
# Once this script has completed, you will need to run the script SETUP2 to build
# and run the CDEMO81.C sample application located under the <IC>/sdk/demo folder
# in your newly installed Instant Client home.
# NOTE: In order for this script to run successfully, you MUST perform any

# If not, have your DBA create it by running the script "SCOTT.SQL" from your
# <ORACLE_HOME>/rdbms/admin folder.
# (B) You need to modify the CDEMO81.C application to connect to the database
# you have configured inside your TNSNAMES.ORA file.
# (i) Open the CDEMO81.C file located under the <IC>/sdk/demo folder.
# (ii) Find the following line of code:
# (void) OCIServerAttach( srvhp, errhp, (text *)"", strlen(""), 0);
# and change the two empty strings to the SERVICE NAME you are using like so
# (void) OCIServerAttach( srvhp, errhp, (text *)"ORCL", strlen("ORCL"), 0);
# (iii) Save the file.
# (2) You MUST be in the initial directory where you copied all of the files listed
# in script SETUP1. In this same location you will find SETUP2. Run SETUP2 from
# this location.
# (3) To run this script use the command: ". setup2"
# BEGINNING OF SCRIPT

7. Open the file tnsnames.ora. Be sure to review the comments in this file. You will have to change the following information to connect to a database on your network:
SERVICE NAME (orcl or orcl.us.oracle.com)
HOST (database_machine.us.oracle.com)
PORT (1521)
SID (orcl)
Save the file.
8. Open the file setup1, go to the end of this script and modify the following line:
./instantclient10_1/sqlplus scott/tiger@orcl @sqlplus_script.sql
Replace orcl with the SERVICE NAME you used in Step 7 above. Save the file.
9. You are now ready to install the 10g Instant Client software for Mac OS X. From the location where your seven (7) files reside, issue the following command:
[macosx]/oracle> . setup1
NOTE: Be sure to include the period "." and a space " " before the word "setup1" so all environment variables persist for the current session.
This will install the Instant Client Basic and SQL*Plus software and connect to the database specified in the tnsnames.ora file.
10. Here is the sample output of a successful execution of the setup1 script:
[macosx]/oracle> . setup1

READ SETUP2 TO CONFIGURE AND RUN THE OCI cdemo81.c SAMPLE
[macosx]/oracle>
11. Once you have obtained a successful execution of the setup1 script, you are ready to configure cdemo81.c to connect to the database you have configured inside your tnsnames.ora file.
Open the cdemo81.c file located under the <Instant_Client>/sdk/demo folder. Find the following line of code:
(void) OCIServerAttach( srvhp, errhp, (text *)"", strlen(""), 0);
Change the two (2) empty strings to the SERVICE NAME you used in Step 7 above.
(void) OCIServerAttach( srvhp, errhp, (text *)"ORCL", strlen("ORCL"), 0);
Save the file.
12. You are now ready to run cdemo81.c. You MUST issue the following command from the initial directory where you copied all of the files in Step 6:
[macosx]/oracle> . setup2
NOTE: Be sure to include the period "." and a space " " before the word "setup2" so all environment variables persist for the current session.
This script will configure your environment, build and run the OCI sample code connecting to the database specified in the tnsnames.ora file.

How ADBC connection is benefits by using SAP HANA as secondary database ?
Hi,
I have one more important question.
How ADBC connection is benefits by using SAP HANA as secondary database in terms of performance wise for the access of data from HANA database as a secondary database.
I have 2 options and which is better for the good performance for accessing the data-
1 . In ABAP Reports in the SELECT statements by using CONNECTION (“HDB”) will this improve the
performance.
e.g : select * from BSEG into TABLE IT_TAB CONNECTION (“HDB”).
2. Will Create the Stored procedure in HANA studio and Call
from ABAP as below by using NATIVE SQL–
EXEC SQL
SET CONNECTION (‘HDB’).
ENDEXEC.
EXEC SQL.
EXECUTE PROCEDURE proc (IN p_in1
OUT p_out1 OUT p_out2 )
ENDEXEC.

Pravin

Branched from http://scn.sap.com/thread/3498161Hi Pravin,
Option 1: In this case ADBC might even worsen the performance due to the overhead in the ADBC framework. OpenSQL is the method to go here, as OpenSQL - from the ABAP point of view - features the optimal communication with the database while ADBC has overhead like constructor-calls for the statement, parameter binding, etc.
Option 2: In this case ADBC is comparable with EXEC SQL but features more options, e.g. clean concept of multiple connection (connection objects via CL_SQL_CONNECTION), exception handling, etc. So I strongly propose to favour ADBC over EXEC SQL, but not simply for performance reasons. You might have a look at the ABAP Language Help in your system on more information on ADBC and the advantages over Exec SQL.
Cheers,
Jasmin
