How to connect to a Sql server from Oracle using db link
Hi All,
Does anybody have any idea about how to connect to a sql server from oracle database using db link to syncronize the data? I need to pull the data from Sql server table to Oracle tables and relay messages back to the sql server.
Thank you,
Praveen.we have 2 products - DG4MSQL and DG4ODBC.
DG4ODBC is for free and requires a 3rd party ODBC driver and it can connect to any 3rd party database as long as you use a suitable ODBC driver
DG4MSQL is more powerfull as it is designed for MS SQL Server databases and it supports many functions it can directly map to SQL Server equivalents - it can also call remote procedures or participtae in distributed transactions. Please be aware DG4MSQL requires a license - it is not for free.
Check out Metalink and you'll find notes how to configure both products.

PXI-1042 Chassis power switch LED is steady red
When attempting to turn on the PXI-1042 Chassis, the power switch LED turns steady green for ~2 seconds, and then turns steady red and remains in this state. All modules were removed (PXI-8330, PXI-6704, PXI-5411, LeCroy PXD 1021 digitizer) with the AC plug removed, and when powering up the chassis again with the AC plug re-inserted, the LED went through the same process, remaining at steady red. This issue arose after our building underwent a power outage, and during this outage the chassis was in standby mode, the AC power plug was still attached to the chassis, but the power to the surge protector (to which the other end of the AC power plug was attached) was turned off. To my knowledge, there were no surges when power to the building was restored. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem (possible power surge?), and can it be remedied/repaired? Thanks.
Thanks for the advice. I contacted NI but they were unable to offer a cheap replacement fan, nor is our part still under warranty, but I was able to get in touch with the fan manufacturer to get the identical one (Mechatronics P/N: E9225X12B1FSR). It actually runs on 12 VDC and has a tachometer output, which I'm assuming the chassis reads to determine whether or not to power up all of the attached devices.

I have a CD-ROM with file chassis.sys that came with the PXI-1042. How is that file used/installed?
Hi,
The "chassis.ini" file contains information which is used to generate a "pxisys.ini" file, which describes a unique combination of PXI chassis and controller. If you are using a National Instruments PXI controller, you will not need to use this "chassis.ini" file, because our Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) configuration software already contains the necessary information embedded. Instead, you simply need to setup your configuration in MAX.

How To Connect To Oracle 11g Database From Microsoft Excel
Hi All,
I have Windows7 64bit installed in my laptop.
I have Microsoft Excel 2007 installed.
I tried connecting to Oracle database ( This is not a local database).
Navigation used:
Data> From Other Sources > From Data Connection Wizard > Other/Advanced > Next > Microsoft OLE DB Provider For Oracle > OK
Now I get a pop up to enter:
username
password
server
When I enter all the required details I get this error "ORA-06413 CONNECTION NOT OPEN"
Is there no need to give PORT number?
Thanks,
Vishwamber ShettyHi,
Did you install oracle client on the machine? Can you do "tnsping <SID>"? Can you connect to DB using sqlplus ?
Try using tnsname for server name.

How to connect oracle database using DSN from jsp

Using odbc tool i have created the dsn name but ithe connection does not make .here is the code that i have tried
Connection connection = null;
try
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
catch(ClassNotFoundException Exception)
out.println("error occoured during loading the driver ");

out.println("getting the connection");
connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:deepak","scott","tiger");
out.println("connection getted");
catch(Exception exception1)
out.println("error occoured ");
pls help as soon as possible
Sorry, for my englishyou are actually using JDBC so the DSN entry does not matter.
2 things.
Make sure that your oracle database driver is in your classpath on your tomcat server.
I.E. copy the file classes12.jar into your common/lib folder of tomcat, or into your WEB-INF/lib folder of your application. and RESTART your server. classes12.jar can be found on the internet or more easily somewhere within your oracle installation. just search for it.
Make sure your jdbc url is correct. I believe it goes like this.... fill in the blacks
connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:scott/tiger@MyOracleHost:1521:MyDB");Note how the username are passed in the first string there fore there is no need to pass additional parameters. This method may be depriciated, but if so, just take out the user and pass from the string and continue to pass them as 3 seperate strings.
connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:MyOracleHost:1521:MyDB","scott","tiger");That should get your connection. if not, post your errors. -
How to connect to Hyper-V VM from WAN
Hello everybody!
I am beginer. I have a dedicate server with Windows Server 2008 R2 En 64bit, and i installed hyper-v with two VM. I created a virtual switch network and the VM can access internet. Now, i want to remote desktop to VM from my PC. In LAN, i typed IP of VM,
that's OK. So if i want to remote from anywhere to VM through internet, how do type IP??
/* So sorry because my English is not good*/It sounds like your VMs do not have public IP addresses. In that case, you will need to have your router redirect based on ports coming in. I've done this and it works quite well.
On your router, you configure it to listen on your public IP address that you can use for accessing your host. By default, when you make an RDS connection to that server, you are coming in on port 3389. What you set up on your router is something
like this:
<publicIP>:12345 redirect to <hostIP>:3389
<publicIP>:12346 redirect to <vm1IP>:3389
<publicIP>:12347 redirect to <vm2IP>:3389
and so forth. Then when you connect via RDP from the WAN, you connect to <publicIP>:<desired port>.

How to connect to SQL SERVER 2008 from labview
We have installed a SQL server 2008 in the local PC and through DSN we were able to connect to the database on the same PC . Now we have loaded SQL server 2008 in another PC but in same network but we are not able connect to the database. we can do it with connnectiong string?
Thanks for your reply,
We verified through DSN it works, we are able to connect to database by DSN.
But the issue is for connecting it to database we need to dynamically obtain the IP by choosing the Obtain the IP address automatically in TCP/IP Properties.
Whereas all the other devices connected to the PC are having static IP of 192.168.127.xxx from which we are getting the data. Also the PC IP address is 192.168.127.001 which is connected to the devices with a LAN switch to acquire the data from these devices.
Now i can either communicate with the devices using static IP address 192.168.127.1 or connect to database using dynamic address.
A separate LAN port will solve or is there solution for this issue? -

What am I doing wrong here?
Cannot connect to (local).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider:
TCP Provider, error: 0 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 10061)Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you could not connect from SQL Management Studio Express 2008.
Please try to connect to <MACHINENAME>\SQLEXPRESS or .\SQLEXPRESS instead of (local).
