How to connect win 2003 server with Mac OS 10.4.6
i try all the things i but it can't be done I follows these Steps:-
Directory Access
click on Active Directory then Configure
then Active Directory Domain & Computer ID
then Bind
In the Domain Controller Security Policy on my active directory domain, I opened Local Policies -> Security Options and changed "Microsoft network client: Digitally sign communications (if server agrees)" to Enabled, and I changed "Microsoft network server: Digitally sign communications (if client agrees)" to Enabled. I then did GPUPDATE from a cmd prompt on the domain controller and I was able to bind with my 10.4.7 PowerBook.
But now that I am bound I still cannot authenticate with domain credentials. Yes, in SMB/CIFS I have set the workgroup to be the netbios name of my domain. And the clock is synced with the domain controllers. I have even edited my smb.conf file with the "realm = MY.DOMAIN" and "security = ADS" and "spnego = yes" lines (where, of course, "MY.DOMAIN" = my domain name). But when I get to the login screen and type in my AD username and password, I get the shaking screen. It's like it isn't even trying to authenticate me with the domain.
So if anyone else was in that situation and figured it out, please let me know. I am also going to post this as a new topic.
FYI, I think the recommendation to solve this issue by using dcpromo to demote a domain controller is terrifying, excessive, and erroneous... and seeing it with a yellow "Helpful" star next to it is pretty scary. I think the person who made that suggestion would have been successful wtih the registry changes if the "Domain Controller Security Policy" had been edited, instead of the "Domain Security Policy."

How to connect to remote server with jmx from jvisualvm
I have a WL 10.3.2 domain running on a single box. The adminserver and managed server are running on the same box, on different ports (7001 and 8001, respectively).
I have a Spring application deployed to the managed server and I've configured it to register a Spring bean as a JMX mbean.
When I run this entire configuration on my laptop, I can run jvisualvm and connect to my server and see and manipulate my registered mbean.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to get a remote connection working, however. I want to run jvisualvm on my laptop and connect to the remote server.
I first did "Add Remote Host", where I specified the IP address. It appears that this was created successfully, and it apparently was able to determine the DNS name for it.
I then tried to add a JMX connection. In the "Connection" field, I just entered the IP address followed by a colon and 8001 (managed server port number).
In the "Use security credentials" section, I entered the weblogic admin principal and credentials.
When I click OK, it chugs for a while and eventually gives up, saying:
Cannot connect to [email protected]:8001 using
service:jmx:rmi:///jndi/rmi://nn.nn.nn.nn:8001/jmxrmi
What might I be missing?I've resolved this. At least I was able to configure an authenticated connection. It doesn't use SSL yet, but I'm ok with that for a while.
Resolving this only required changing the command line parameters for the managed server, and being aware of the "jmxremote.access" and jmxremote.password" files. The following blog article helped a lot: [http://www.dzone.com/links/r/monitoring_your_java_application_with_jmx_part_2.html] .
I'm now passing the following command-line parameters:
-Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=8888 -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=true
The default "role" configured in "jmxremote.access" is "controlRole", and the "jmxremote.password" file specifies the credentials for that principal. I simply used that principal and credential in JVisualVM, and the connection succeeded.
And I just used the "host:port" form, not the protocol form.

You can keep the id password in a Batchfile and create a external command which doesnot need anyput just call external command from program and transfer file. -
User Unable to RDP in Win 2008R2 Due to Multiple Group Membership But Can RDP in Win 2003 Server
We have built a new application server with Windows 2008R2 where set of users are local admin (application owners) and we have same kind of application server
in Windows 2003 SP2 with same users as local admin.
Now in Windows 2008R2 servers these local admins are unable
to RDP and get ACCESS
DENIED whenever user tries to login but can login successfully in 2003 server.
Now, strange case is, I found these admin users group membership with more than 600 groups and they are able to login win 2008 server as well if I remove their
group membership to a minimum level say around 300.
This is so confusing for me as user can login in WIn 2003 server with highest group membership but not in WIn 2008.
We have applied Maxtoken registry also through GPO.
Any idea what are we missing here. This has nothing to do with Directory Services so I will move to the General forum.
One thing to look at is to make sure that you have RDP enabled on these new 2012 servers.

Visual Composer is not running on Win 2003 Server
Hi,
after installing Visual Composer on a Win 2003 Server (with applying OSS note 804496).
The analyzer from note 772559 do not notice errors.
But I get a HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden: Access es denied --> You are not authorized to view this page.
It is a Test system and I have allowed all I can, but it is not working.
Does somebody have an idea why I got this error message? Do I have to configure something that is not described in the Installation Guide?Hi Ignacio,
I did not change the file. I use the same on a Win2000 Server and it's working there.
By the way, the URL http://ep-tst/vcserver/~server.ini is working, so it could not be a permission problem, could it?
The default.htm is the default page in the VCServer directory..."http://ep-tst/VCServer/default.htm" is not working, too.
And the title shows "Loading... - Microsoft IE".
Do you have an other idea?
Thanks&Regards,

Gigabith connections tiger vs win 2003 server
In my gigabith (certifyd category 6) network I have numerous problems to transfer files from Mac with Tiger 10.4.4 to win 2003 server. After to me it are connected the copy of files leaves correctly, with good speed (40-50MB/sec), but when little lack MB (1/10MB) the connection is slowed down (10-300Kb/sec), and often it is closed with ERROR -36. I have the same problem with 8 G5 and whith SMB or AFP.
Any assistance you could lend would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.we are having the same exact problems. Our Macs are bound to Active Directory and connected via Gigabit. This is happening on machines with 10.3.x - 10.4.5. We authenticate fine, connect to servers fine and transfer speeds are great up until the last bit of the file. It hangs for a few minutes and either makes it or we get disconnected with a -36 error. In Console I keep seeing this:
Feb 20 12:02:47 username kernel[0]: smbiodrecvall: drop resp: mid 14758, cmd 5
Feb 20 12:02:47 username kernel[0]: smbiodrecvall: drop resp: mid 14766, cmd 5
Feb 20 12:02:47 username kernel[0]: smbiodrecvall: drop resp: mid 14774, cmd 5
This one is hard for us to pin down because we just moved facilities so we have new HP gigabit switches, cabling and our domain controllers were updated to Windows 2003. -
How do i leave a copy off sent emails on the server with mac mail
How do i leave a copy off sent emails on the server with mac mail.
Pop accountCheck your mail preferences. The example below is from the mail app that comes with mac. In my case I'm using yahoo mail which is a POP3 account. POP stands for post office protocol which is the set of rules used by a POP mail account to transfer mail. You can learn more about it here if interested. If the box below is checked, all the mail will be downloaded to your computer when you check your mail using the built in mail app and removed from the mail server. Here is another page to help you set up your hotmail account for use the the mac mail application. Hope this clears things up.

Connecting to a Windows 2003-Server with a MacBook
Hi guys!
I'm planning on buying a MacBook anytime soon. The main purpose of this investment is work at school. Therefore I have to ensure that everything works perfectly, otherwise I would have to buy a Windows notebook (in fact not the kind of decision I wanna make).
We have a Windows 2003-Server and every other pupil can easily connect to this server with a Windows XP machine wirelessly. They can use printers, surf the Internet and use all the network harddrives (like F: for everyone; P: for projects were only certain groups have access to certain folders; and Z: your home-directory where only the very user has access).
I need to make sure 2 things:
a) When I connect to the network via Airport, does the system ask me for my account, so I can have (or have not) access to files I am entitled to?
b) Does everything work fine under normal condition?
I am aware that something could happen nobody could have forseen, but as the MacBook is a bigger investment than a € 700 windows crapbook, I would like to make sure that everything should work seemlessly. Thanks Jay, It now auto log's in but it's still not acting like a networked drive - when saving an attachment etc I still can't save direct to the server as it doesn't appear in the listing.. I need to save to desktop or doc's then manually drag it into the server... this is a pain...
Any further ideas. -

MaxDB install failure on Win 2003 Server
Win 2003 Server
MaxDB v 7.6.05.09
HP Proliant G5
Good morning,
We've got a problem with a MaxDB install on a fresh Win 2003 server.
- The first install process and the demo database worked fine
- We tried to create a new database instance and it hung. As nothing was working as expected we decided to uninstall maxdb and all its component and to re-start from a clean process. That's were things are becoming weird :
- The first time the setup assistant hung when installing the kernel
- The secund time the setup assistant hung when installing the demo database
- Every following test hangs when installing the kernel
We tried to do a clean uninstall MaxDB, to watch which registry keys we should restore... but nothings worked as expected.
We found a link at this address describing the same problem but it doesn't provide us anything to solve our problem.
Here is our log file :

it really does look like as the "uninstallation" was done by merely deleting files from the filesystem.
This will always lead to problems when you try to re-install a MaxDB afterwards.
Uninstallations should be done via SDBUNIST to avoid such issues.
Based on the error messages like:
getRelease():C:/Program Files/SDB/MAXDB1/pgm/kernel.exe not found
MSG: migrate server installation data for INSTROOT "c:/program files/sdb/maxdb1"
MSG: installed package is flaged as invalid => skipping update check

>WRN: cannot execute command: xregcomp -u "c:program filessdbprogramsliblivecachedbg": cannot create process, Le fichier spÈcifiÈ est introuvable.
we can tell: the MaxDB installation registration had not been deleted correctly.
If I'd to guess, I'd say you just deleted whatever was in the folder "c:program filessdb" and crossed fingers that this would do.
Anyhow, on this system, due to the usage of non-SAP-standard folder layout check this one, the installation registration can by found in the all users data folder:
>MSG: Template set indep data path to "c:/documents and settings/all users/application data/sdb/data"
This would have to be removed as well.
Anyhow, maybe you want to read the documentation before messing up your system by try and error:

Who has figured out how to use a print server with LR 2.1?
Who has figured out how to use a print server with LR 2.1?
Mac OS 10.4.11, G5 2.3 dual, 8 GB RAM. PS CS 3 Dual monitors
Print server is Mac G4 dual 533 (audio)
Epson Pro 9600 and Epson R2400 Both are connect by USB. Could be connected with FW 400.
I can use a print server with PS However color management does not come through when using a print server and LR. Image prints, but color horrendous.
All custom .icc profiles are on both the G5 and the print server, G4 dual 533 (audio)Hi,
Based on my research, if we want to filter events based on user name, we need to edit the XML query.
Please refer to this blog below:

Win 2003 server SATA2 RAID 0 install errors
I keep getting the following error when trying to install Win 2003 server, as it is loading drivers:
"The file iaStor.sys is corrupted.
Press any key to continue."
Note: I get this error on every copy of win2003 server that I have AND I get it when trying to F6 install Intel's SATA RAID drivers from floppy, so it isn't really a corrupt file.
So I continue on and finally when trying to load windows it says something about windows not detecting any harddrives. Well, bios sees them fine. The ROM Intel Matrix Storage Manager sees them fine. I have all 3 drives set on one volume in Intel Matrix Storage Manager for a total of 698.7GB's. If I change to SATA Mode IDE the BIOS sees them fine.
I have the following relevant BIOS settings:
SATA Mode RAID (I've tried all 3 settings with no luck)
SATA Post speed setting DISABLED (I've tried Force Gen2 to no avail, and yes the HD jumpers are off so it runs at a full 3gbs)
JMB361 Disabled (I don't have anything on SATA port 5)
I've messed around with practically every possible combination of settings and am at a complete loss here as to what I should do to get this thing working. I've even tried skipping RAID completely. I've read through the (confusing) mobo instructions multiple times and just don't see what I am missing here. =/ Any help would be greatly appreciated! TY! See profile for hardware specs.Well, you can only find out by re-installing the system with SBE 2003 again and if it doesn't works, you've got to install SBS 2003 back...
It depends on how you want to play the game. A shot that may help you or burden you . -
On startup my G4 "Connect to file server "G5 mac" as...
I have switched off all the extensions on the G4 but when it loads the desktop it opens the window "On startup my G4 "Connect to file server "G5 mac" as..." It won't let me type any login so I can't remove it or connect to the G5.
How do I stop this appearing? My G5 (OS 10.3.9) decided to do this today too. I can't launch the Finder without it wanting to connect to another machine in the office, and the Finder locks up as soon as it displays the Connect to file server dialog.
I have SSHed in and removed the com.apple.finder.plist file but that didn't help. The only thing I can do is boot with the ethernet cable disconnected.
I am anxious to know how to stop this.
