I guess you want to consume webservice in webdynpro from XI , if that is the case
may be you can ask your XI consultant to provide you a WSDL url , and expose that as
webservice using adaptive webservice model and if you are using EP 7.0 you have to create Destinations
in the visual admin tool ->webservice security-> dynamic proxy
and if you are using CE 7.1 then you can create the destination in
NWA->SOA management -> Destination template
and for creating destination you can search SDN there are many thread available

We had enough trouble getting the "osgi compliant" Axis2 library to run in OSGI without spooky failures that we ended up re-writing everything utilizng JAX-WS. Create a Portal Application and access the External Web Service (Say for example, http://api.google.com/GoogleSearch.wsdl ). Create the Portal Application Object -> Portal Web Service -> Portal WebService from wsdl file -> Client Side -> Enter the Wsdl file as http://api.google.com/GoogleSearch.wsdl -> Select the methods to expose -> Enter the service name, Alias and package name should be a unique one. and finish.
Create bean to set the values.
In your JSPDynpage Component enter the following code:
public void doInitialization(){
YourServiceName obj=(YourServiceName) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(YourServiceName.KEY);
MyBean beanObj = new MyBean();
beanObj.setterMethod(obj.calltheMethodinWSDL());
And in your JSP page, call the bean getter method.

First create a web service in SAP. The blog by Uwe Kunath descibes this clearly. Then create an Xcode project and use the ASIHTTPRequest wrapper to connect to the web service. Parse the response with the KissXML parser. A more out of the box solution is NetWeaver Gateway. It also let you use SAP web services but it also generates iOs code for you. SAP just released a trial version in de download section.

I tried to consume webservice http://student.ohecampus.com/projects/group95/stud17/assignment7/validateEmail.asmx, which will return the data in boolean format. In this case, i am able to create a proxy and it is working fine. Can anyone help me out.

I checked with webservice owner who created the webservice. They are telling that there is no problem in XML file which they gave. The webservice they provided is consumed in many application and it is working fine. When in SAP, i tried to create a proxy it is showing the in information which i mentioned in earlier posted forum message.

Thanks for the quick response. I used the SQL Workshop, script upload function (in Apex) to upload a package that I wrapped on my pc (Windows 7) using the wrap command line utility (11g). It uploaded fine but when I tried to run it, it returned a message like "Wrapped code is invalid or corrupted". This was not what I would have expected since I know you can import/export wrapped code between systems (different OS) without issue. Perhaps the command line wrap is OS specific and the import/export is doing some kind of translation?
Anyway, I know you cannot use the command line option directly in the cloud because, as you say, you don't have access to the command line. DBMS_DDL is too tedious to use and has the 32K limit and unfortunately, there is no command like, "Alter package body xxx compile wrapped". So that leaves using the SQL Developer Cart option to move wrapped code from a local db to the cloud db. Unfortunately, I'm still having roles and permissions issues with my account which Oracle Support hasn't been able to fix over the last few weeks so I can't try this option (or even login using SQL Dev). Has anyone tried to do this? Does anyone know of another way to do this that I'm not thinking of?

If the webservice is working fine in the Wsnavigator then there is some problem with importing the webservice in webdynpro for Java. Please check the required parameter for creating the Adaptive Webservice Model. After adding in the used model and compoent controller binding, you need to write code for to execute the webservice model.
Please check the code for initialization and execution for the webservice and then test it.

I'm just learning how to consume webservice stuff but this
should help as I got a result. See my code snippet below.
Basically I did some cfdumps to see what the objects look
like. This is from an empirical view as I don't understand yet. The
object comes back with methods. You then use those methods to get
values. I chose to use the getAnyType method. I did this as I used
another tool, soapscope from www.mindreef.com (30 day eval) which
really simplifies how to call webservices. It's worth the cost.
Basically I invoked the service via soapscope and looked at
the returned xml.
It looked like:

yes, I have created a "Service Consumer" which you call "Service Proxy".
But the problems is the SAP Firewall. I want to call an external "Service Provider" so I need to use a Proxy Server to pass the firewall.
So with the word "Proxy server" I don't mean the "Service Consumer" (I know how to create that). I mean a "Proxy" to go out of SAP corporate network.
But how can I set up a Service Consumer with this proxy and how are the settings for the SAP proxy?

I have a BAPI in ABAP that is exposed as a webservice. I want to use this to build a webdynpro app so that i can consume this webservice. This BAPI returns the Employee data. As soon as the person logs into the portal i am going to pass his login id to this BAPI so that it retrieves the Employee data for that user id. Consumption of a web service is univesal I guess so it wont matter if it is an ABAP webservice. For consumtion of webservice in Web Dynpro you can go through the following tutorials

While Consuming a WebService in JSP Dyn Page - There is an Error

Hi Friends,
I have a web service created in ASP.NET web Service.
And I have Consumed the Web Service using WSDL URL.
I need to write a code to refer that class in the JSP DynPage
I have created like this in DoIntialization
MyServiceName obj=(MyServiceName) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(MyServiceName.KEY);
int a = 10;
int b = 20;
obj.Add1(a,b);
but it shows an error
"The method Add1 Method(Add1 Method) is the type. MySErviceName is not Applicable for the arguements(int,int)"
Please Help me in this regard.

Hi Andy,
I will let u know the sequence which i followed to consume the Webservice.
NWDS --> File --> New --> Project --> Portal Application --> Create New Portal App Project.
The Project is created.....
After that i want to consume the Webservice for the same project...
for that...
NWDS --> File --> New --> Other --> Portal Application --> Create New Portal Application Object --> Selecting My Project?(intended prjct) --> Portal Webservice --> Portal Service from WSDL file - Client Side --> My WSDL URL --> Selecting the methods which i need to expose from the Webservice --> I gave unique name for my 1) Service 2) Alias 3) Package....and that was done....(other way is to add from portalapp.xml ??)
After that i created a new JSPDyn page for my application in DoInitialization() method i tried to access the method from that webservice using the following code...
MyServiceName obj=(MyServiceName) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(MyServiceName.KEY);
I am successfully able to access the method from the webservice using the object which i have created but i am not able to pass arguments to that method...???
I tried consuming same webservice created in .NET in .NET itself and i am able to pass arguments successfully.
I tried to consume webservice created in ABAP in .NET and able to implement successfully...
but the same ABAP webservice when i tried to consume its not working with this NWDS.
Is there any thing else i need to follow while consuming a webservice in the EP Perspectice of NWDS ???
Deployable Proxy is required for that ?? if required how to create and use that ??
