How to contact the software server

Hi. I have to Reset my iPod Shuffle, but when I try to do it, ITunes tells me it can't contact the software server, that I have to check if my LAN settings are correct. I access Internet by a Proxy, but since I can post this message, I think I have a connection. How can I check mi LAN settings? Can I restore my iPod without a connection, downloading something?
Thanx!!

*Thank you!!! It was the problem.*
You're welcome, I'm glad that helped.
*Why are you so efficient, do you get a pay for that?*
I've never felt particularly efficient and no, apart from the moderators the people who help out on the boards are just ordinary users like yourself.

  • I have updated to lion. Set up an iCloud so contacts and calendar are shared between iMac iPhone 4s and iPad 1. But iTunes is telling me to update the software on the iPad and iPhone, but it just gets stuck contacting the software server. What should I do

    I have updated my iMac to lion so I can use iCloud to share contacts and calendar between iPhone 4s and iPads 1.  Somehow it seems to have worked although still not sure how to move stuff in and out of iCloud.  iTunes is telling me to update the software on the phone and iPad. When I try to do this it just gets stuck with a box saying connecting to software update server. This has never happened before.  I cannot update or restore either the phone or the iPad in iTunes although I have synced the info.  What should I do?

    Something went wrong with the update, this can and does happen with every version of iOS.
    There is nothing wrong with the update.
    Simply restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
    If iTunes is stating it will take hours to update, that indicates an extremely slow Internet connection and is likely the reason the OTA update failed.

  • Could Not Contact the Software Update Server

    I am trying to configure my clients so they can update releases of Jabber by clicking on "Check for Updates".  I am getting the error, "Could not contact the software update server."  I have verified the URL's in the XML files are correct and I can get to them directly from a browser.
    Anyone have any ideas of what I am doing incorrectly?

    I figured out the problem.  It was the UTF encoding.  Should have stuck with UTF-8 but instead took what PSPAD gave me as a default.

    hello Larryrush, please contact lastpass's support about this issue - they can likely give you better advice and are the only people who can resolve server errors in their network.

  • How To Find The Right Server........

    Hi Friends I am Again Here
    I Have A Question. I have Tool Thats Work is To Check The Duplicate CDR from Three days dump and Then Load this CDRs in Database. I runt his tool on 2.4 GHz System with 1GB ram and I got the result
    74 CDRs /see Processing.
    This time I Have A problem that I need server to run this tool and I am not getting that how I calculate the right server so that I can get the result upto 500 CDRs/see
    How Much CPU I need and How Much Ram I Needed. As per My Knowledge this can run fine on 2*2.4 GHz dual core CPU with 8GB ram.
    Is it Fine,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
    Can anyone Help to Find Right System for this tool.

    Your post is hard/annoying to read. In English only the start of a sentence is capitalized. There is no need to capitalize every word within a sentence, unless required otherwise, like the pronoun "I" or the person/product names, e.g. "John Doe" and "Java".
    Apart from that, your question has nothing to do with Java at all. Look for a CDR software forum or so.

  • HT204380 It seems that my iPhone4S is unable to contact the FaceTime server. I am using a WI-FI connection. What is wrong?

    It seems that my iPhone 4S is unable to contact the FaceTime server. I am using a WIFI connection. I cannot connect to others using FaceTime. What do I have to do?

    Hello carrwf,
    It sounds like you unable to connect your Apple TV to the iTunes Store. I would use this troubleshooting from the following article to help you resolve the issue named:
    Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation): Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4546
    If you discover that you aren't connected to a network, the signal strength is low, or some of these settings are incorrect or blank, try the following steps:
    Ensure that Apple TV is within range of your Wi-Fi router or base station.
    Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable/DSL modem are connected to power and turned on.
    Make sure other devices (computers, iPhone, iPad, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
    Check your Wi-Fi network settings on Apple TV:
    Choose Settings > General > Network > Wi-Fi and press the center button on the remote to display nearby networks.
    Choose your Wi-Fi network from the list.
    If your Wi-Fi network uses a password, make sure you are entering it correctly.
    Restart your Apple TV by choosing Settings > General > Restart.
    Try restarting your Wi-Fi router or modem by turning it off and then on again.
    If possible, connect an Ethernet cable and verify your Internet connection. If you can connect to the Internet using an Ethernet connection, verify that your Apple TV is using the latest software by choosing Settings > General > Software Update. If your Apple TV can be updated, install the update and then try the steps again.
    Disconnect and rejoin your Wi-Fi network by selecting your network on the Apple TV and then choosing Forget Network. Rejoin your Wi-Fi network after it disconnects.
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • "Install Failed - Contact the software manufacturer."

    Hi, when I try to install my newly delivered Snow Leopard disc, it runs for about 15 mins, restarts into the installer and then after a minute or two brings up a big yellow exclamation mark with " Install Failed. Mac OSx could not be installed on your computer. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
    I've repaired disc permissions, and reset PRAM. I'm currently running 10.5.8 on a white Macbook.
    Any suggestions gratefully received!

    If the links are blocked by who-ever, you will keep getting those errors.
    About the only option would be to use a proxy.

  • Mavericks install failed on my late 2008 MBP. Says I should contact the software provider. Want to do a system restore, using Time Machine, but latest date to use is from last year - even tho did a backup before the download?

    I downloaded the free Mavericks upgrade to my late 2008 MBP on Friday.  I made sure to plug in my external hard drive so that Time Machine could back up beforehand.  (I should say I'm not clear about the different kinds of backups that Time Machine does - I just plug it in and let it go.).
    So have tried several times over the weekend to install, it takes 46 minutes each time - only to tell me it can't do it.  There was an error message of needing to contact the software provider (or something similar).  After searching the internet (on my husband's computer - since my MBP is rendered useless right now) I decided maybe I should wait on Mavericks and just do a system restore.  However, when I plugged in the Hard Drive and proceed to System Restore, the latest date available is one from September of 2012 (14 months ago)...  I've wondered if the date might be wrong?  But I'm afraid to choose it because I'm not sure what I would lose.  It might take me back to Snow Leopard rather than Lion... (however, the version on Restore was 10.8.1 which is Mtn Lion, right?  Even tho it was last year...)
    Some sources online say that I should go into applications and delete the install -- but I can't get to anything on my computer.
    I tried to do a reboot in safe mode - but not sure if it worked...
    I did look on the installer log error and the latest error is:
    Local Host  Report crash [378]
    Can anyone help me?  (Using simpleton, non-techie language?
    Thanks

  • How to give the application server file path in the module pool programming

    Hi,
         Could somebody help me how to provide the application server file path in module pool programming once the logo is uploaded to sap system.
      For eg I have imported a logo name ‘owens’ into sap system by using transaction ‘se78’; now I need to call the path in the below url,
    if container2 is initial.
    CREATE OBJECT CONTAINER2
      EXPORTING
        CONTAINER_NAME              = 'PICTURE_CONTAINER2'.
    CREATE OBJECT PICTURE2
      EXPORTING
        PARENT = CONTAINER2.
    CALL METHOD PICTURE2->SET_DISPLAY_MODE
      EXPORTING
        DISPLAY_MODE = CL_GUI_PICTURE=>display_mode_fit_center
      EXCEPTIONS
        ERROR        = 1.
    CALL METHOD PICTURE2->LOAD_PICTURE_FROM_URL
      EXPORTING
        URL    = " ? "
      EXCEPTIONS
        ERROR  = 1
        Others = 2.
    endif.
    Thanks in advance
