How to control brightness using AS?

Hi,
I've got 5 button instances named "btn1" to "btn5". How do I
use AS to control the brightness in a such a way that the
rollover-ed button has a brightness of 50 whereas the rest has -50?
I checked out Flash help but couldn't really understand how
they use the brightness filter...

W540 with Apple 27" Thunderbolt display - how to control brightness?

Hi everyone-
I have a colleague's hand-me-down 27" Apple Thunderbolt display that I wanted to try to run on my W540, which runs Win7 x64 Enterprise.
I connect to the notebook port (do not see this port on my dock) and basic display appears.
I cannot control the brightness and the display is at a dim default level.
I tried two general online recipes to fix this situation - 1) installing Bootcamp services [1] and using the control panel and 2) installing a BrightnessController windows program [2] that is supposed to talk directly over the Thunderbolt device connection.
I could not get either one to work - Bootcamp services did not show a Brightness tab (it has that capability if the stars align) and the BrightnessController app said it could never detect the display device. I uninstalled the Bootcamp sevices to try to allow this app "exclusive" access to Thunderbolt devices, but it didn't make any difference.
The only other pieces of data I have are:
- in the Intel Graphics control panel app, it recognizes the display as a "Thunderbolt display". I can play around with some color balance settings, but these don't seem to be talking natively to the display (increasing brightness results in terrible washout of colors)
- in Windows Device Manager, my display appears as a "Generic PnP" monitor. I've never seen it described as something Apple-specific (maybe due to no specific Windows driver for it - even after Bootcamp services install)
I've read bits and pieces of Thunderbolt display issues on Lenovo forums, but nothing seemed to match my question for native hardware brightness control.
Does anyone have any useful inputs - success stories, ideas for things to try?

Also! Just tried installing the "Intel Thunderbolt Software" that was available from Lenovo System Update (did not see that before) - once installed, I could use the Brightness Controller app [1]

How to control Internet used by Apps?

Hello. I've been having this problem lately. For some reason, my Internet connection on my MacBook es going really slow. I suspected it was due to some configuration I couldn't figure out, so I created a Parental Control account, and the conection there works just fine. So, I presume there is something draining Internet speed on my normal account. Then the question is, how can I monitor what Apps use internet and how much speed they drain? Is there a way to limit this, somehow?

The N95 should unlock the keypad automatically when you open the slider (or the lens protector for that matter). The sensor would appear to be working since the keypad is locked when you close the slider, so it's probably a software issue. I'd start by uninstalling ShutUp beta, which is installed according to your signature.

I am novice in LabVIEW, and i need help in the configuration between LabVIEW and the PLC. My PLC is Omron CJ1M-CPU11-ETN21. I have DSC Module and i have OPC Server as well. I did create tags or even used shared variables to try to write to the output of the PLC, but it does not works. The configuration for the PLC ethernet had done, and i can control the PLC using CX-programmer through Ethernet module. May i know what are the problems?

You are making some progress with setup of wireless network. Apparently there is reliability problem with the wireless connection. Perhaps you want to refer to following Apple support documents and start tweaking parameters in the router to improve the reliability. I used to have third-party routers such as Belkin and Netgear but switched to Apple Airport routers (Time Capsule then Airport Extreme for now) because of incompatibility issues whenever Apple upgrade Mac OS X. But since Apple develops Airplay protocol as alternative to Bluetooth for wireless audio/video streaming (with much better bandwidth) and must be deployed in any wireless network, there is no reason third-party routers not working for Airplay protocol.

Let me explain to you about scheduler.
You can schedule a pl/sql stored procedure TEST_S as follows...

So first read about DBMS_SCHEDULER and do the work in prompt. Then you can go and schedule it even by database control.

Hi Spydi,
up to now, I never did it with two EPOS. But you should first check your setup with the EPOS-Studio. You need to set two different Node ID`s and after this works from the EPOS-Studio <you should do two seperate lines of programming in LabVIEW. I attach some VI`s from maxon which are simple in using for one EPOS. I assume you just need to program them in parallel.
And you don`t need the CANopen Library, it`s possible to use but very difficult. The EPOS-Library from the download is a Set of VI`s which where developed by maxon in Switzerland and free of use, they use a Communication DLL behind. If you`re interested maxon develops a new release right now. If you want to use them instead of the one you already had, let me know, I can ask there for a BETA and place it here at the forum.

Read the second thread you have a link to. While both of these will produce PWM signals, the first one is a couple of orders of magnitude too slow to do anything useful in control the speed of a motor, what you would see would be the motor run at the full speed, then stop for a period, then run at full speed, rather than at the "average of on and off" as the Pulse Widths will be very long relative to the motor's response. The second one has a better chance, IF all you want to do is run the motor. If there is any other calculations ... Look at both and try and get an understanding of what they are doing. For PWM speed control of a motor you really need a pretty fast pulse width, and probably some filtering to smooth out the resulting "harsh" waveform, giving you the "average" voltage resulting from the PWM.

I've used Measurement Studio - Tools for Visual Basic and Tools for Visual C++ (ActiveX component) for instrument control.
I've used both the VISA and non VISA versions and they are pretty straight forward to use for GPIB, Serial or VXI.

You cannot start running a vi using a boolean on the front panel of that same VI. Detecting the state of the control requires the VI to be running.
Maybe you can clarify WHY you need to do this. The run button is for VI development. Once you have a final application, it should be set to "run when opened". The actual code could start out in a wait loop (or wait event) such that pressing a certain button will trigger execution of the main code as needed.
