How to control "colorrange= high 5% dark 254%" in Gray scale image

Hello every one,
Our client wants to change the passport size image in B/W art work to do this below comments from client:
“Change the picture (parts supplied look ADV Material) Picture in black, 200 dpi colorrange= high 5% dark 254%, file extension= .tif”
In this comments I didn’t understand “colorrange= high 5% dark 254%” unfortunately I don’t have contact details to ask more details to client. Please some one share with me does i control the same in Gray scale image
Thanks in Advance
Regards,
Siva

Your client's comments don't make any sense.
“colorrange= high 5% dark 254%
Except Color Rage from the Select menu in Photoshop which apparently is not what is meant here, there is no such term "colorrange" neither in Photoshop nor it is something popular in the design and printing terminology. If this is a print job, percentage suggests ink coverage but if so, while "dark 254%"  makes sense, the word "high" from "high 5%" doesn't make any sense. If the client was trying to communicate what Zeno is guessing then in the context of the comment, 254 cannot be described as "dark" because this affects the highlights.
If it was me, I will not procede until it is made clear what the task is.

  • How can I save the 12-bits gray scale image ?

    I acqured the 12-bits gray scale image (Format7 , 640X512 size , 12bits) successfully.
And CWIMAQViewer display the correct image of which the range is from 0(black) to 4096(white).
But, I don't find the way to save this image with 12-bits format T.T
Always, CWIMAQVision object save this image to 8-bit format.
I tested all formats - tiff, bmp, aip, png.
I think there are two possible problems.
    1. I dont't know the way to save the 12bits gray scale image. :{
    2. I dont't know the way to read the 12bits gray scale image that saved correctly.
How can I save and load the 12-bits gray scale image ?
What is the solution for this problem T.T ?

    Hello,
I would recommend taking a look at the "ReadImage" Visual Basic project for more information on setting the image type and saving the image to file.  When you run the program, make sure you select 16 bit for your image.  You can also add another button to this example for saving the image.  Within the click subroutine for the button, you can add the line:
    CWIMAQVision1.WritePNGFile CWIMAQViewer1.Image, "C://image.png"
This method will save the image in the viewer as a png file.  As long as it was loaded as a 16 bit image, it should save all of the 12 bit information into the file.  You could then test the new image by loading it using the example (you can see the pixel values by right-clicking on the viewer and selecting Settings>>Show Image Info.  The pixel value displayed in the info bar corresponds to the mouse position.

  • How to transfer a 2D array from NI-scop into a gray scale image and save it

    Dear all,
I acquired a 2D array and want to transfer it into a gray scale image (12 bits) and save it into my hard disk but I don't know how to do it.
I can use Intensity graph to show the 2Darray into gray scale image, but the intensity graph.vi can not save the image in real time.
    Thank you.

The 24-bit is a color image with 8-bits per color channel per pixel (interleaved, if I remember correctly).  It is not a 24-bit gray-level, so I don't think it will work for you.  I believe the IMAQ library (a LabVIEW add-on) will handle 16-bit gray-scale, if you can get a copy.
As a native LabVIEW workaround, you could also split your image into two 8-bit images, with one image representing the high bytes, the other the low.  You could then combine them when you do the analysis, if your analysis program is capable of this.

  • How convert a color PDF File to black & white (gray scale...no color)

How convert a color PDF File to black & white (gray scale...no color)??? creative cloud cs6... Acrobat etc

Hi, just wanted to add my 2¢
I've been in publishing over 25 years and live in Acrobat for making my final files. Currently with a newspaper.
    This is what we do:
    • Tool Panes > Print Production Window
    • Select CONVERT COLORS
    • Midway down under OUTPUT INTENT, check Convert Colors to Output Intent
    • In the associated drop down menu, I choose (because I'm printing on newsprint) DOT GAIN 20% – If you're working on better stock, choose a lower dot gain percentage.
    • Click OK – this will convert the file
    • Save
Note: this affects the file you're working with. Make sure that you use this method on a COPY if you want to retain the original color version.
I think if you compare my method to the Preflight method, you'll see a tighter contrast and better blacks. I've always felt the Preflight method left continuous tones a little muddy.
Now if there was only a way to add that to ACTIONS...!

  • How to Convert FLIR Gray Scale Image to a Temperature Map in NI VBAI

I have been working with a FLIR A315 Infra-Red camera and NI's VBAI software.  I need to determine the presence and continuity of a hot mastic foam that has been injected into the hollow bulb of a rubber weatherstrip seal in 4 adjacent locations that flow together inside the weatherstrip bulb to form a continuous foamed mastic plug.
So far, I have been able to trigger image acquistions in VBAI from a FLIR IR camera by monitoring an Allen-Bradley PLC's status bit.   The communication with the FLIR A315 camera is via the IMAQdx GigE driver.  However, I haven't figured out how to detemine the temperatures from the gray scale images I receive from the FLIR camera.  I wonder if someone could give me some pointers on how to do this.
I have attached some images below to illustrate what I am working with and how far I've gotten.
iPhone_Photo.jpg - shows a photograph of the weatherstrip section that the FLIR IR camera is "looking" at.
FLIR_IR_Monitor.jpg - a screen capture of a FLIR IR monitor utility that shows temperatures measured at a number of points and areas (showing it can be done)
NI_VBAI.jpg - part of my VBAI 2010 project which shows the image I've acquired from the FLIR A315 IR Camera
So, I am part of the way there, but so far have not found a way to map the gray scale image that VBAI is acquiring from the FLIR IR camera into a heat map from which I can determine temperatures - and would appreciate some help on how to do this.
    Kind regards,
    Nick

    Hello,
Image provided by FLIR camera are unsigned 16bit.
Depending on the FLIR temperature scale you selected (10mK or 100mK), you will have to divide by a 10 or 100 factor to get K values. Don't select radiometric output.
So if your object is cold, the population of the histogram of your image will be on the left part of it and if the object is hot, the population of the histogram will be on the right part.
If you want your temperature values in Celcius, just add 273,15 to the Kelvin Value.
Then you can add a color palette in VBAI (FLIR iron is available)
    Hope this helps

  • Gray scale images – too dark

CS5.5 or CC – I have experienced several times that flat grayscale imaged - corrected and nice in PhotoShop turns up much too dark when placed in InDesign.
I make sure no effect or colors are applied to the frame or picture, but still no effect.
If I force transparency on the actual spread (by placing two white items on top of each other, the topmost multiplied on the master page) then it looks correct at once.
It makes no difference if it is a flat grayscale jpg or a psd, even a psd with a white background turns out this way.
Why is that? - Do you know?
    BR Nina Storm

ID previews grayscales two different ways, when there's transparency on the page or Overprint Sep Preview is turned on, grayscales preview via the CMYK profile. With no transparency (or an RGB Transparency Blend space) they preview as sGray (2.2 Gamma), which is useful for screen design.
You can use your InDesign document's CMYK profile as the grayscale profile in Photoshop to get more consistent previews between ID and PS. Check this thread:

  • How to convert color image(24 bit) YUV 4:2:2 to gray scale 8 bit image

I am using sony DFW-X700 color camera for one of vision applications.Does NI Compact Vision System(CVS) support YUV 4:2:2 format(8 bit each).I want to do gray scale processing, so i need to convert the YUV color into gray scale (8-bit) in the software(like Labview). Please suggest us how to do this conversion for better gray scale image clarity from color.

In YUV color space, Y represents the gray scale; in RGB color space, R=G=B represents gray scale. You can simply set R=G=B=Y, to convert YUV to RGB. If the original color depth is 24 bit, then the result is 24 bit too.
You can create gray scale color table like this:
    array size = 256;
    [0] = 0x000000;
    [1] = 0x010101;
    [2] = 0x020202;
    [255] = 0xFFFFFF;
To convert 24 bit gray scale to 8 bit, check every pixel in 24 bit image to find the array index according to the color table, and replace the pixel with array index.

  • How to control Color Mode and Resolution for brochure creation?

    Hello guys,
I am trying to find some settings within Pages, where I could set CMYK color mode and 300 dpi resolution for my pdf file.
I am creating brochure from scratch, using blank document, because non of brochure templates work for what I need. But I can't find any controls for color mode and resolution set up.
Is there any solution for this?

There has been a lot of discussion in the Pages forum about resolution and some on CMYK.
Much of the discussion has been incorrect.
For the colour handling there is the colour palette
The Apple Colour Palette is the user interface for colour managing vector objects created in Apple Pages such as rules and panels and for colour managing one class of vector objects not created in Apple Pages, namely typographic objects.
Imported objects maintain their colourant model and colour space, if there is one. If there is none, a colour space is assigned and the assigned colour space is saved out into the PDF, opposite e.g. Adobe Photoshop which will colour manage the object in the open editing session, but will then save out the object to disk without the assigned ICC profile if 'Colour Management: Off' is configured.
Therefore, if the imported object is data space CMYK and the colour space device CMYK, the system will assign the Generic CMYK Profile which is equivalent to ANSI CGATS TR001 colourimetry (US SWOP); if the imported object is data space RGB and the colour space is device RGB, the system will assign the Generic RGB Profile which is equivalent to sRGB colourimetry in OS X 10.5 and higher.
In general, always capture and then convert for correction in one of two data spaces with three channels, either ICC colour managed RGB or ICC CIELa*b D50. Then convert to CMYK1, CMYK2, CMYK3, CMYKn from the ICC colour space chosen for correction and archiving. This colour space should be large enough to hold any colours that the output colour spaces can hold.
The Apple ColorSync Utility has a gamut comparison dialogue which is 3D (point, press, and turn the 3D gamut comparison). Use this facility to pick an ICC colour space of reasonable size and shape for correction and conversion into final output. Don't pick sRGB as a quick look will show that it can't hold as input what ISO reference offset can hold as output for pure cyan, let alone hold what a big inkjet can hold in greens, blues, reds and yellows.
The ICC architecture lets the ICC profile for the printed output match out of gamut colours to in gamut colours using the Perceptual rendering intent, as intended in the original architecture from 1995. Adobe internally introduced an inhouse conversion for compatibility with PostScript and as default for PDF, Relative Colorimetric with Adobe Black Point Compension. Relative Colorimetric is in fact a proofing transform, without gamut mapping. Black Point Compensation is a simple linear scaling of the lightness to compensate for the fact that the shadows will be clipped in a Relative Colorimetric conversion.
The other problem is transparency, introduced in the QuickDraw Graphics Extension for Mac OS 7.5. Transparency is not supported in any version of Adobe PostScript (level 1, level 2 or level 3). Transparency is also not supported in any version of Adobe PDF prior to version 1.4 and higher. Therefore, unless the RIP Raster Image Processor is able to accept PDF 1.4 and higher, transparency has to be rendered / flattened which is done in the PDF/X-3 filter of the Apple ColorSync Utility.
The idea in the PDF/X-3 filter (for Adobe PDF 1.3) is that the everyday enduser, after placing ICC colour managed RGB or CIE La*b D50 objects, and after choosing an ICC colour space for objects created in Pages, chooses the ICC colour space for the output condition. The filter accepts both ICC profiles of type MNTR Monitor with data space RGB, ICC profiles of type PRTR Printer with data space RGB, and ICC profiles of type PRTR Printer with data sapce CMYK.
The colourant conversion (RGB to CMYK) and the gamut mapping (out of gamut colours in input colour spaces mapped to in gamut colours in output colour space) is then calculated as per the ICC profile for the output condition. An output condition is the combination of factors that affect how colour is formed: the colour lightness and colour tint of the paper, the colours of the colourants, and the tone value increase. Think of gamut mapping in a good ICC profile as Format 1 kerning in a TrueType font (where your font has state-based kerning for up to 8 glyphs simultaneously).
Below a link to a discussion of how to change the default PDF/X-3 filter the Apple ColorSync Utility. "Wegen diverser Fehler im Mac OS X empfiehlt es sich, wo immer möglich, die PDFs ohne Transparenzreduktion (also auf normalem Weg) über den Befehl Als PDF sichern zu erstellen und das Flattening der Druckerei zu überlassen," that is, pick the plain save as PDF path and leave the transparency flattening to the prepress technician.

  • How can i make higher resolution titles?

i am working on a dvd that will be nationally produced through churches all over america and most likely the world and everything is going great (now that i bought more RAM...) but i am using just very basic titles for the dvd but they look so pixelated and low res. i am working with FCE 1.1 and i am using the TEXT from the video generators, does anyone know how i can make higher res texts that don't look so stinkin pixelated? thanks so much

The general rules are - use a sans-serif font (for example, Arial) and make it as large as you can, subject to the limits of your aesthetic tolerance. Small fonts & serif fonts do not work well in video.
I don't know if FCE 1.1 included Title 3D, but that generator includes a 1:2:1 Deflicker control that may be helpful. If not, you could try adding the Flicker Filter to your text clip.
Another suggestion (and I'm assuming you have still text, not moving text) would be to duplicate the text clip and stack it on top of the original text clip, on a higher video track. Then open the original text clip and apply the Gaussian Blur filter or Anti-Alias filter. This will help soften the pixellated edges of the text.
Which generator(s) are you using, what font & what size?

please any body know how to control fan speed its always 69% and make bad noise and the cpu usage is 3% no at high processing i try advanced power settings but still runing at high speed

    > I hope u didnt expect that they were gonna stay at 0% like forever
Of course I dont expect this. When you switch on the notebook CPU reach high temperature in few seconds only and you must not wonder if pretty high CPU temperature and fan activity will be shown very soon.
I dont know what do you expect but it is logic that cooling fan will run. Maybe all time maybe will be cut off for short period of time but it will run permanently. I dont see any problem there. With cooling method option it can be reduced a little bit.
And what is your question? I didnt understand what you want to know exactly.

    Nikhil Deshpande,
If you dont want allow create a sales order in referent to other one, just delete the copy control between these sales order type, so when the user tries to create a SO in reference to other one a message is displayed that is not possible.

    Hi,
Check the copy control for transactions in
spro-->Customer Relationship Management->Transactions->Basic Settings->Copying Control for Business Transactions->Define Copying Control for Transaction Types
If the transactions are maintained as follow up for the transaction you have created then remove the entries which you dont want as follow up.

  • How to control DE USB disk Automounts.

    Hi,
Can someone please guide me as to how to 'control' Automounts by DE when we plug USB disk drives.
I have KDE4 on my Arch system. When I connect a pen drive/USB HDD which is formatted as vfat/NTFS, the system(or KDE) 'Automounts' it in /media and I have read/write access to it. But if I use the same drive and format it as ext4, it wont be mounted as read/write for normal users but only for root.
Now pen drives and USB HDD's are removable storage drives and hence are volatile and could not have a fixed mount point, so it cannot be mounted by putting an entry in fstab or could they?. And I need my USB HDD frequently, and manually mounting it through CLI everytime and working on it as root is a bad idea i guess.
I am posting this because m confused as to how to control this Automount feature-What is the backend to it? Because I've read that HAL no longer takes care of it and that HAL will be deprecated soon, instead UDEV takes care of it. If that is the case then should I be concerned about polkit? Because that is what's the output provided by Dolphin(freedesktop.org policy prevented blah blah).
Another thing is if HAL is still in use and Automounts my devices then is it independent or polkit is a part of it. Then, is using hal-easy an option or replacement to standard HAL. ??!!??
I tried HAL archwiki and used the code to give a user permission to give rw access to automounted ext filesystems, but then nothing is mounted, it sings the same old freedesktop.org prevented bla blah song. And I think this is a question for all linuxes using Gnome and KDE in general.
    Any help is appreciated.

If by 'ability to mount as user' you mean to mount it manually but read/write access to normal users then yes. But primarily I need automounting as user, also be able to give access to other users for read/write et filesystem automounts.
