How to control published domain URL

iWeb needs a site name (I understand that), but it uploads to the domain name WITH the site name given in iWeb. For example, the domain is www.mysite.com, and that is the domain name I tell it to ftp to, BUT the new files are uploaded to a folder called newsite (the name I gave iWeb to call the site when I started to build it... the root folder, if you will. Sooooo... what happens is that when the files are uploaded, the new url is www.mysite/newsite/filename.html
I don't want whatever name I give the "site" in iWeb to be included in the upload domain. Eventhough the settings reflect just a plain http://www.mysite.com/ as the root folder, the files are dumped in a a folder created by iWeb and the name of which is determined by the "site name" I give it in iWeb. How can I have the files/pages I create in iWeb land in the root folder and NOT add the directory called "newsite" (in this example)?

You need to use an ftp program to get the files that you published to a folder to your server/host. To do this download Cyberduck which is a dedicated ftp client and as was said before, upload just the contents of the site folder - this is the one with the same name as your iWeb site.
This will then give you the url http://www.domain.com/pagename.

How can I Publish to a Folder just one of the several websites I have created using iWeb?
it drives me nuts having to emove all the other websites when I want to upload one.

For iWeb, I like to do only one site per domain file.  I move domain files out of the Application Support folder and place them inside project or client folders, or in DropBox. Once you duplicate a domain file and begin customizing it, it will load and behave as a separate project/site.
I publish each iWeb domain/project direct to a server via FTP. Sometime I publish to a folder, then upload via FTP manually.

  • How can I publish just ONE site

Everytime I create a new site and publish it to a folder (to place in my own domain) iWeb publishes ALL of the sites every time, no matter whether changes have been made to any site or not.
How do I publish just ONE site?
If I get mobile.me, will I be able to publish just the ONE site I wish to publish?

I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.

Only 'On My Mac' calendars can be published to an ordinary web page: MobileMe calendars can be shared but the viewers will need a CalDav client to view them - iCal is of course one such, or Google Calendar for people with Windows. More details here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/sharedcalendar.html
There is an unofficial and probably very dodgy method to publish a MobileMe calendar to a web page, but it depends on a bug in iCal so there's no guarantee it won't stop working at any time (and I don't know whether it works in Lion). Use at your own risk: the method is described here -

  • How to show a nice URL in Browser URL navigator?

How to show a nice URL in Browser URL navigator?
    Hello
    Arquitecture:
    Internet --- Machine1 (Apache like Proxy Reverse and rewrite) --- MAchine2 (GLASSFISH-APEX LISTENER 2.0.1) --- DATABASE
That application will be like a directory of products, we need a nice indexation inside google, yahoo, etc...
We want to build an application with APEX, with a nice custom URL. like http:\\domain\pagina1\pagina2\pagina3
    Limitations:
    * We can not use frame
Actually, We obtained that when we write in a browsers URL domain "the domain" redirect to "http://domain/apex/f?p=600", and that appear in "browser url" but we want to know if is posible to change that without use frames.
    Thanks.

Interesting Morten states that "You can use Apache with mod_rewrite to set up mapping between REST-style URLs to your Apex pages...", I've seen no working examples of how to do this with Apache because mod_rewrite is very limited in it's ability to process the query string part of the URL, with all the APEX stuff we need to refer to.
Morten if you are reading this, what's the secret man?

  • How can I publish my flash movie in one swf file in V.2

    Hi
When I publish my movie to flash format , skin swf file is
segregated from main movie swf file . How can I publish my movie
only in one swf file ? I want to merge skin and main movie files
together in one swf file .

    Hi Corona,
The screen size is whatever you captured or specified during
the recording or new movie setup process. This will cause the
playback control to be placed "on top of" some portion of the
captured background, but there are two ways around that problem.
    1) When you set the red recording area before recording, drag
the bottom of the recording area downward about 35 pixels below the
application window (assuming you are capturing an area that
includes a "bottom" or even an application window - grin). For this
to work, it is best if you do your recording against a
solid-one-colored desktop background, so the "extra" area at the
bottom doesn't include desktop images that you don't want in the
capture (even though that area will not be visible in the end ...)
    OR...
    2) Use the Project > Resize Project dialog to increase the
palette size on the bottom, taking care to leave the original movie
the same size. This will effectively do the same thing as
Suggestion #1, create a "blank" area at the bottom of the movie on
which there is room to mount the playback control bar.
Best of luck, Corona, and omid02. Hope this helps, in
conjunction with the advice that Rick has already offered.

  • How do I find the URL?

If I do an Aperture Web Page published to Mobile Me (not the Mobile Me Web Gallery feature - I'm talking about the web page from within Aperture, with "Stock" themes etc), how do I find the URL later? If I don't "Visit site now" upon publication and make a note of the URL, I don't know how to retrieve it later. Thanks!

    It's usually the service.mac.com/yourusername
so .mac galleries are gallery.mac.com/username, web pages are web.mac.com/username
When you click visit site now, just write down the root name, it will be something.mac.com/something

  • How do you publish a website without mobile me working anymore?

How do you publish a website using iweb 09 with a moved mobile me account , when using icloud.  I can't use mobile me.

Here's what you need to do:
1 - purchase a domain name (you'll need one in order to publish your website to a commercial hosting service.
2 - obtain a hosting service to publish your site to.
3 - obtain the ftp address, username and password from Customer Support of your new hosting service.
4 - set iWeb to publish to an ftp server and enter the necessary information you received from Customer Support.
An alternative to #4 would be to publish your website to a folder on your hard drive and use a 3rd party ftp client like Cyberduck (free) or Transmit to upload the website file to the server.

    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Help: Using Adobe Muse & Business Catalyst with Google Domains: URL not mapping

    Hi,
I've had some issues publishing my site to the internet using Adobe Muse (version CC 2014) and publishing to Adobe Business Catalyst.
I am currently using Google Domains to host my domain name (www.mattandsangeeta.com) and have tried on multiple occasions to get the domain name to correctly map  using Adobe's Business Catalyst nameservers.
I've verified with Google Domains that their process is setup correctly to map to my site, so it indicates the issue is on how I've configured my Adobe Muse/Business Catalyst side of things.
So far, every attempt at publishing the site via Adobe Muse has worked with its extension at http://mattandsangeeta.businesscatalyst.com/index.html, and I'm able to login into my Admin page from Adobe Muse immediately following publishing. However, when I try to login directly to the Adobe Business Catalyst page, it takes me to an admin link for www.mattandsangeeta.com that is broken.
To summarize: My published domain isn't being mapped correctly and I hit a dead end every time I try to login into the Business Catalyst website.
Thanks for your feedback and support in advance,
    Matt

    Hi
As I checked the site loads fine with domain Matt And Sangeeta . I tried to get to site manage area using Administration Login  and I see it works fine as well. I would suggest you to please try clearing browser cache and cookies and check if that helps.

  • AD RMS - trusted publishing domain

    Hello,
i am working on integration of two AD RMS servers between two forests. I have to use trusted publishing domain because client from Domain_A cannot communicate directly with AD RMS server in Domain_B and vice versa.
I have exported TDP from Domain_B and added it to AD RMS server in Domain_A. Also, i have added to test client a registry file to redirect it to his domain AD RMS server. Registry file contain this settings:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\DRM\LicenseServerRedirection]
I am able to open documents that are protected on remote AD RMS server, but have this thing that I need to choose change user, that choose my own user, and then it open documents. See images bellow:
Does anyone know, do I need to add any other registry settings, or something else?
    Thanks!
    BR,

I think this was a known issue in Office 2010.
Before you see this is this key present?:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\DRM]
    "DefaultUser"="Windows:YourUser
    @YourDomain.com (AD RMS - Internal)"

  • How do I publish multiple websites from iweb?

Hi, I'm new with iweb and .mac in general and wanted to know about publishing multiple accounts from my iweb.
I bought a five-user edition of .mac last week and I wanted to get at least three different websites up and running. One site is almost 50% done and has uploaded just fine but when I tried to create another site in iweb, I have no idea where it's going. I created a second account in .mac and it shows up (I can log into and everything) but how can I publish to my brand new site without the other one going through each and every time?
This question may sound really dumb but please bear and mind that I'm a newbie with iweb and mac (I just got this powerbook in Sept. 2006).
    Thanks in advance,
    Dale

Actually, Dale, this is a pretty common question.
If you want the different sites to load to different .mac accounts (or different sub accounts), the easiest solution is probably to set up several different user accounts on your computer, one for each .mac sub account. In each of those accounts, set the appropriate .mac info in system preferences. Seems like I've heard of another approach, but this is probably the simplest.
Have you already started building a second site in the same user account (on your computer) as the first site? If so, we'll need to walk you through domain separation, too.
One other heads up: it is very important to back up your domain files (in your case in each account). The domain file is found in ~/library/Application Support/iWeb, where ~ refers to your home folder for your user account on the computer. Make sure to make a backup copy (preferably on an external hard drive or CD) after every major change in your website. Don't be lulled into thinking that a published website serves as a backup. It is not possible to import a published site back into iWeb. The domain file is your only link to creating/editing the site in iWeb.
Please post back if you have any questions or if I haven't been clear.
