How to convert AIR-AP1131AG to AIR-LAP1131AG

Hi,
We bought some autonomous AP with the later goal to convert them. We now run with 3 WLC, we would like to migrate those APs from Autonomous to Dummies ?
How could we do that. We know that i could be done.
Thanks a lot

    Hi,
some days ago I succesfully converted  AIR-LAP1041N (lwapp) to AIR-AP1041N (autonomus).
I used  c1140-k9w7-tar.124-25d.JA1.tar which is available to download in Download Software Section for this AP.
But there are any autonomus to lightweigt firmware for this AP.
I tried to use  c1140-rcvk9w8-tar.124-21a.JA2.tar for 1140 but AP hungs after that.
How can i back to LWAPP version in 1041?

but i connected this AP to dhcp server i see that AP recived IP address from DHCP i tries to search conntroller (i can see frames from AP in wireshark, req to DHCP for CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER).
so in next days i will try to connect AP to the controller (wlc is in different site, without vpn connectivity).
i think that AP is bad, because of this "weirid chars" on console, but maybe when ap updates firmware from wlc, it will be OK.
    thanks for help for now.

  • Does WiSM 6.0.196.0 suport AIR-LAP1131AG-N-K9 in H-REAP mode

    Hello,
I have WiSMs running code version 6.0.196.0. I have to deploy AIR-LAP1131AG-N-K9 in H-REAP mode.
Q1. Does AIR-LAP1131AG-N-K9 require CAPWAP or can run off of LWAPP?
Q2. Does anyone know how to find out if a WLC is running LWAPP or CAPWAP?
Q3. If one has to convert LWAPP to CAPWAP, how is it done?
    Thanks
    Bo

    Hi,
Q1. Does AIR-LAP1131AG-N-K9 require CAPWAP or can run off of LWAPP?
A1. The AP will run CAPWAP as soon the WLC is running a CAPWAP image. There is nothing special to do on the AP, once it joins the WLC, the WLC will check the image on the AP and if using a diferent one, the WLC will push the correct image to the AP that matchs the WLC version.
Q2. Does anyone know how to find out if a WLC is running LWAPP or CAPWAP?
A2. CAPWAP was introuduced in WLC version 5.2 and all versions above are running CAPWAP software.
•If  your firewall is currently configured to allow traffic only from access  points using LWAPP, you must change the rules of the firewall to allow  traffic from access points using CAPWAP.
•Make  sure that the CAPWAP UDP ports 5246 and 5247 (similar to the LWAPP UDP  ports 12222 and 12223) are enabled and are not blocked by an  intermediate device that could prevent an access point from joining the  controller.
•If  access control lists (ACLs) are in the control path between the  controller and its access points, you need to open new protocol ports to  prevent access points from being stranded.
Q3. If one has to convert LWAPP to CAPWAP, how is it done?
A1. On the APs nothing has to be done. Once the WLC is running CAPWAP software, it will automatically push the corresponding AP software to the AP.
WLC runs CAPWAP if the software version is earlier then 5.2. WLC version 5.2 and all versions above are running CAPWAP software.

    Tiago

  • Converting air-sap2602i-s-k9 from autonomous to LWAPP

    Hi guys,
I need your expertise regarding how to convert from autonomous to LWAPP using AIR-SAP2602i-s-k9 with IOS version of ap3g2-k9w7-xx.152.-2.JA.
I'm following these commands but it is not available
debug capwap console cli or debug lwapp console cli
I cannot proceed to convert it Did I miss something or the 2600 series doesn't support LWAPP convertion ?
    thank you
    Erik

    Hi Erik,
Those commands aren;t going to work, they're debug commands for a lightweight AP.
Here is the guide to upgrading:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/conversion/lwapp/upgrade/guide/lwapnote.html
It's pretty simple though, get the lightweight software follow the upgrade tool instructions to load new software.
Though, you have a newer AP so you'd be ok just to load the new software on, if it's only for a small amount this is fine.
    Thanks
    Chris

  • Converting AIR-LAP1131G-A-K9 to LWAPP

I noticed that this AP was $350 as compared to the AIR-LAP1131AG-A-K9 which is $450. The latter comes with an A radio which I don't need. But it comes shipped LWAPP which is good. Can I convert the cheaper one to LWAPP?
    The models are:
    http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=873163
    http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1386702

Sure you can. First, download the LWAPP image and do the following:
    Autonomous to LWAPP (Shortcut)
    Requirements:
    • Image file (The recovery file has the prefix “rcv” in the image name, such as c1200-rcvk9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar);
    • AP is connected to the Wireless LAN Controller; and
    • AP can ping the TFTP server where the image is located.
    Procedure
    1. Copy the recovery file to the AP using the following command:
    archive tar /x tftp:/// flash:
    2. Let the AP boot on this image:
    boot system flash://.bin
    3. Reboot the AP.
    OPTIONAL
    • DO NOT ALLOW THE AP TO JOIN THE WIRELESS LAN CONTROLLER.
    • IF POSSIBLE, type the following commands:
     clear lwapp private-config (This will bring the AP to factory default.);
 clear lwapp ap ip address
     clear lwapp ap hostname
 clear lwapp ap controller ip address
    4. Let the AP connect to the Wireless LAN controller.
    OPTIONAL
If an AP refuses to join the Wireless LAN Controller, type the following command from the AP:
    lwapp ap controller ip address
    Does this help?

  • I would like to inquire how to use air 2.7 sdk in flash cs5.5.

I would like to inquire how to use air 2.7 sdk in flash cs5.5.
I have searched some solutions online and tried to copy air2.7 content in air2.6 folder(replaced the old one). I then did some efficiency tests but I don't see any improvements at all. Did I miss anything?
Besides that, There's a display ratio problem if I publish the ipa in landscape mode. I can't interact with the program either. But it is not a problem if the ipa is published in portrait mode.

  • How to install AIR in Non-Admin rights PC ?

Who can teach me how to solve under issue ?
1.How to transfer AIR file to exe file
2.How to install AIR in Non-Admin rights computer?
-->In my company all PC has contorled, i want to install application in any Notebook for Sales Using, they can using AIR offline in anywhere
    Thank you so much!!

On Mac OS, to install or update an AIR application, the user needs to have adequate system privileges to install to the application directory (and administrative privileges if the application needs to update the runtime). On Windows, a user needs to have administrative privileges.
IT administrators can install AIR applications silently using standard desktop deployment tools. For more information, see "Enterprise deployment" in the following page:

  • How to Test AIR 1.5

Sorry if this seems slightly off center, but I blame Adobe, not myself. Trying to determine the true status and positioning of AIR amongst the various Flex forums and projects for an outsider is practically impossible. So, I will be brief. In September Mr. Chambers sent opened the flow by telling us that we could find FP10 integrated with Flex SDK in something you call 1.5 or Cosmo, or both. He was properly circumspect, so I didn't rush into it -- there was not even an ADL binary when I checked. Now it is November, the Trunk is at 4005, and ostensibly, everything we need to start trying to take advantage of FP support of 3D operations is out there. But where? Where do we get a version of AIR 1.5 that can be installed on a target desktop, so that we can try to run the ADT test cycle?
Call it Gumbo, call it Flex4, call it whatever, but can someone tell us how to start testing it for AIR application deployment?
    Thank you.

My user <br />    cares.<BR><BR>My user will get frequent updates to an ever-growing body of <br />    software called an application, and he will get them over those same slow <br />    bandwidth network links that the Flex user sees.  What's "good for the <br />    goose is good for the gander".  There is simply no reason not to <br />    architect the library of code that we use to cobble together the application <br />    and use the same intelligent caching mechanism in both environments.  I <br />    looked for a month for a white paper or discussion of how to 'modularize' an <br />    AIR app but all that you wanted to publish were white papers on how to <br />    'modularize' a Flex app.<BR><BR>I'm sure that you guys have a bunch of <br />    object diagrams and product architecture blueprints that you have memorized <br />    -- but that is not what we see 'outside the black box'.  What we see is <br />    a confusing distinction between the AIR efforts and the Flex efforts <br />    although the code base and efforts are substantially the same.  And if <br />    that is true from an internals point of view, put on your end-user hat and <br />    look at how we view a AIR/Flex app -- it is all one.<BR><BR>So, I develop <br />    the worlds greatest Juke Box and get it all going in Flex, then I move that <br />    into one Tab on one Screen in the AIR 'shell'.  Then some guys go off <br />    and mostly use AIR-unique code to add a Tab that allows Drag and Drop <br />    creation of Slide Shows accompanied by voice overs, and another set of my <br />    guys go off to add the 'Sudoku' module in just plain old Flex.  At some <br />    point in time in some ant task, we've got 10MB of code and X MBs of that is <br />    in one of our present [or future] swz files.  Where is the distinction <br />    that says I should just ask my users to download the whole shooting match, <br />    when what he really wants to do is just download whatever updated or new <br />    application modules [including any upgrades to your frameworks] when <br />    required.<BR><BR>So, it took some time, but today, my application is <br />    compiled with dynamic linking to the framework.swz, and when the user <br />    launches his AIR application on the desktop, the Flash Player, embedded in <br />    the AIR environment, is smart enough to find that it already has the <br />    necessary framework code and does not need to go back to the network to get <br />    it refreshed.  Actually, since I could never figure out how to use <br />    Module and ModuleManager, the method for solving the framework caching <br />    problem ended up just being an extension of what I developed for version <br />    management 'with continuous update' of my own swf files.  So, when the <br />    AIR shell starts up, it needs to test to see whether there is any updating <br />    to be done, or whether it already has locally available the 'latest and <br />    greatest' and that works the same for MyCute3DWizBang.swf or <br />    framework_3.1.0.2710.swz or framework_4.0.0.3988.swf.<BR><BR>If you take the <br />    point of view that a 'desktop application' doesn't need to do anything <br />    special to solve the problem of 'large file downloads', you end up thinking <br />    that there is no reason for an AIR application to take advantage of the <br />    frameworked cache when, in fact, almost all of that code is needed whether <br />    the execution thread starts in a 'WindowApplication' or just a plain old <br />    'Application'.  At least thats the cockamaymee point of view that I <br />    came to in the absence of any 'best practice' discussion of these key topics <br />    --  so far, it seems to be working pretty well, but as you can guess, <br />    testing across a network to a remote host that may or may not have the right <br />    version of AIR, or the right version of framework, or the right version of <br />    MyCute3DWizBang  is really more important than just testing against <br />    ADL. <BR><BR><BR>----- Original Message ----- From: "Matt Chotin" &lt;<A <br />    href="mailto:[email protected]" <br />    target=_blank>[email protected]</A>&gt;<BR>To: &lt;<A <br />    href="mailto:[email protected]" <br />    target=_blank>[email protected]</A>&gt;<BR>Sent: Monday, November <br />    03, 2008 8:39 PM<BR>Subject: Re: How to Test AIR 1.5<BR><BR><BR><br />    <BLOCKQUOTE class=gmail_quote <br />    style="PADDING-LEFT: 1ex; • AIR-LAP1131AG issue

I've connected an AIR-LAP1131AG to a 3560G and can see the port being granted power in the logs but nothing else - nothing in CDP, port is showing as down/down.  The Status LED on the top of the AP is showing as blue/green, which according to the docs means it's initializing the Flash filesystem, but it just sits there.  I've installed 12 APs and two of them have this issue.  I know they all worked a few weeks back because i upgraded the software on them to 7.0.98.0 before shipping them to site.
Any ideas as to what could be the cause?  Could it be a cabling issue?  These two APs are on the same floor of a building and i'm wondering if the cabling has been botched.  I can't imagine both of them developing a hardware fault, but the status LED may suggest otherwise.  Any thoughts appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

That did the trick!  See below - good port on both switches followed by the APs on g0/48...  Thanks for your help!

  • Reflashing AIR-LAP1131AG-N-K9 to use all US channels

Is the hardware between the AIR-LAP1131AG-N-K9 unit and the AIR-LAP1131AG-A-K9 common, and if so, can these be reflashed in the field? If not, can the N version work in the US and if so what are the capabilities you lose (I assume some/all 11a channels, but would like something more definite)?
    Thanks,
    Alan

LAPs from different regulatory domains will not inter-operate. The WLCs and LAPs have to be of the same regulatory domain. And I don't think the LAPs of different regulatory domains can be re-flashed.

    Hi Experts,
we are having more than 250 - AIR-LAP1131AG-N-K9 access point installed,
We are facing issue in access point which SN is starting from FTX1216, its getting failed and not starting by PoE or power adaptor (dead)
i analyzed all these failed access points and found that a copper metal foil which covered on some part on PCB of Access point is half removed. and all this access points are 3 to 4 Years older. is there any way to stop such failures.
    find attachted snap shot.
