How to Convert all PSDs/TIFFs to JPEGs within subfolders (no "JPEG" folder)?

Hello all, I come to you with what I hope is a fairly simple question and I would put it in scripting if needed but I'm not a scripter. I am sifting through many terabyte drives trying to track down all large image files and delete them after making an identically sized JPEG. I can create actions or use the File->script->Image Processor or some other method you suggest.
There is a drive in question with hundreds of folders broken down by a client number and occasionally we'll design something as a psd. Well after each year we like to keep the images but do not need the multilayered psd/tiff files any longer. I would love something to grab every psd/tiff on the drive and convert it to jpg (and delete psd afterward but that I can do by hand). However both batch and image processor have drawbacks that don't allow me to do this. Can anyone help?
Is there a way to make the Image Processor not save in a "JPEG" folder but in the true "same location" as it stipulates. I have bound it to a hotkey and am currently dragging in chunks at a time, then going into the folders, cutting/pasting, then deleting the jpeg folders, then deleting the psds... it's quite cumbersome.
Ideally the files wouldn't go through the GUI so it would be speedier but not necessary. I can use Photoshop or Bridge CS3. I am finding the files by windows searching extensions so if possibly a droplet or something could allow this, I'd use that as well. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

You might want to post this to the Photoshop Scripting Forum.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • How to convert all old (pre-Office 2007) documents in portal to new (Office Open XML, Office 2007+) formats?

    Good day.
We have create a single SharePoint 2013 farm and manually copied in it all documents from old SharePoint 2007 server portal.
The question is how to automate covertation from old document format to new office in all librarys?
"Word Automation Services" able to convert only Word's documents, not Excel.
The single method what I think, is to use bulk convert utility ofc.exe from Microsoft Office Migration Planning Manager with powershell's ability to get all items from all librarys from site collection.
Can someone has faced with it and has a ready work example?

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to convert all office file to the latest 2007 format.
We found this tool called MS Office Migration Planning Manager:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=13580cd7-a8bc-40ef-8281-dd2c325a5a81&DisplayLang=en#filelist
After extracting it, going to the Tools folder and modified the ofc.ini file to specify which folder to scan and convert etc.
Then running  the ofc.exe and except some files didn't convert successfully, others is ok.

  • How to update all psds in Indesign doc to jpegs?

    Hi,
I'm a wedding photographer that uses Indesign CS5 to create albums. All my photos are initially PSDs within the album. Upon completion of the album, I would like to convert the PSDs into JPEGS then update them in InDesign Album. How can I do this?
This would cut down on file size and I'll always have the option to edit the album in the future.
Thanking you in advance for all your time and understanding.
    Kind regards,

  • How to convert English PSD document to Arabic type engine? help...

Right now we are making some English web files into Arabic.
We are using CS 6, and have enable the type engine and adjsuted all settings.
If I start a NEW document, I can copy and paste Arabic into Photoshop and it reads correctly.
However, if I copy and paste into a file made in English previously - even after setting it it to Middle-Eastern Features under Type menu, and changing type direction in the Paragraph menu...it doesn't paste in correctly (wrong character order)
Even if I make a new text box, with everything set, it still pastes in wrong.
However, if I first copy it into a new PSD document, with options set...it appears correctly, and then if I copy and paste that into the previously made English file, it shows up correctly.
Is there a way to "convert" a PSD document's recognized type engine besides having to use a "middle man" file as described above. I would really prefer to copy-paste from Word into the already exisiting English file without having to first copy-paste into a blank file. (Preferences are also set to Middle Eastern under Edit menu)
    Thanks
EDIT: I figured out that if I draw a new box, it will paste in just fine. Would prefer to sue the text boxes that are there. I tried also "Reset Paragraph" and it seemed to sometimes, reorder things...however it also reordered the English that was sometimes mixed in.
    Any thoughts?

  • Using Aperture to batch convert images from tiff to jpeg

    Hi there
My first question - here goes:
I wish to batch convert several thousand tiffs (of various sizes) to a standardised jpeg (A4 @ 300dpi). I'm looking for software to automate this process as much as possible; ideally, it would search designated folders and place the new jpegs in a (matching) new folder structure.
Would Aperture be suitable for this, or should I consider Adobe Lightroom (or other)?
    Many thanks
    BR

    No filters.
Solution I used was to create new project. Copy images to it. Delete old project.
Aperture would not let me copy images from old albums to old project.

  • How to convert all Caf files to WAV/mp3?

I have been using Soundtrack pro to edit my audio for videos, but I am going to make the move to Pro Tools. The Apple sound effects and loops are really nice, but pretty much no applications support them. I have been exporting the cafs in Compressor to mp3s, but they are not replacing the old ones and staying in the files that I need them to stay them in for the sake of organization. Is there a way to batch export all of these caf files and RETAIN their location in their specific folders (i.e. animals, Sci-Fi, Foley)?
If so, please tell me how! Thanks!

I am not sure about batch converting all your files. But if you want to get them into a Pro Tools session you can send your sequence back to Final Cut and then export an OMF. You can use CAF files in final cut directly and when the OMF is created they make it into Pro Tools fine.

    Importing PSD files into Illustrator
       •   Opening PSD files into Illustrator
    1.  Turn on your computer and launch the Illustrator program.
    2.  Open a new document by clicking File>New in Illustrator’s menu bar.
    3.  To open your Photoshop document, go to File>Open and then select the document you want to open when prompted.
       •   Placing PSD files into Illustrator (Editable)
This method is ideal if you wish to incorporate a Photoshop document within an existing Illustrator document which can then make the PSD file editable within Illustrator.
    1. Launch the Illustrator program, select File>Place
    2. Locate the PSD file you want to import and click “Place”. Make sure the “Link” option is not selected.
Placing or opening an unlinked Photoshop file will prompt a dialog box with options, choose the most appropriate option and then click “OK”.
    • Convert Layers to Objects: This option will convert the Photoshop layers into Illustrator objects to be able preserve masks, transparency and blending modes.
                                 • Flatten Layers to a Single Object: This option will flatten all the Photoshop layers into a single layer to preserve the look and appearance of the image; however individual Photoshop layers will no longer be editable.
       •   Placing PSD files into Illustrator (Not Editable)
This method is ideal for incorporating your Photoshop files in an existing Illustrator document. Although the PSD file will no longer be editable it will be able to maintain a link to your original Photoshop file.
    1. Launch the Illustrator program, select File>Place.
    2. Locate the PSD file you want to import and click Place. Make sure the Link option is selected.

**The one time it did not work for me and appeared black was because of shadows (hue/saturation adjustment layer). So I compared the old .psd file, that converted fine, to the current one I was trying got send. One of the differences was the introduction of shadows by duplicating the fonts and image shapes, then merging them to a single image with hue/saturation adjustments. When adjusting the hue/saturation, it appears in a separate layer that was locked to next to image that was just produced. Some reason that was the bug that kept Illustrator from placing the .psd file in Illustrator. The solution was to merge the hue/saturation layer with the image layer. Now it’s back to normal.
Hope this save you some time.

  • How to convert a Powerpoint slide in jpeg!

I can't imagine Java has been passed by ColdFusion! We can do this in ColdFusion but I would like to do it in using Java only. Here is what I want to do.
I want to read a Powerpoint document (.ppt), select a slide, convert in .jpeg files and display this image in a web page. Each slide of the Powerpoint document will be converted like mentionned before and will be add table.
Any help? Is it possible to do that? It can be a nice feature if this does not exist....
Thanx anyone for the help... Yannick.

    It shouldn't be that hard,
    1. Get documentation on the .ppt format.
    2. Check how images are stored, and in which format.
    3. Find out if this format can be transfered to .jpeg easily using Java image functions.
    4. If not find third-party software that does.
    5. Find out how to display a .jpeg image in Java using built-in image functions.
    6. Write the display application.

  • HT1711 how to convert all music to MP3

Hi all you MAC Users out there,
I was trying to think when the last time I had to call or write in.  I think it was 1985 on the how could anyone in those days forget the never changing old 800 number.
I know some of you die-hards remember those days and that Apple SOS number!
I bought new heasgear for my wheels and it holds a ton more if they are MP3.
Most of Tunes are already convered to MP3 of which I myself never did.  Some of my Tunes are already MP3, but some are not.
Could someone send me a link to the place explaining how to switch convert them over?

  • Bridge CC / How to use all cores to generate JPEG images?

    Hi!
Is there anyway to tell Bridge, that it should use all my cores to generate the JPEG images out of RAWs?
Actually it uses less then 25% of my CPU performance. I've a Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3,4 GHZ, with four cores and enabled hyperthreading, also eight virtual CPUs.
At least it could be FOUR times faster, if it would use all available cores, but so I get one preview per second (12 MP RAWs). So I've to wait in case of 100 RAWs round 3:30 minutes. If would use all CPUs, which are available, it could increase speed less then 1 minutes.
In my case, I've to create often up too 500 JPEGs in one go. So instead of 17-18 minutes it would take less then 5 minues. 12 minutes less!
I just wonder, why I bought a good PC, if Adobe is not using the power of the CPUs and tries to work parellel instead of seriel.
As there any chance, or does Adobe have no interest, like it has no interest to speed up LightRoom?
If there is any chance, I would be very pleased.
    Thanks

Sorry, I could not know, that issue is caused by the same flaw in the software:
