How do I make separate tracks into takes in one track?

I want to know how to use quick swipe comping on separate tracks. If not possible, how do I merge those separate tracks as takes in one track so I can use quick swipe?
I am using logic pro X and finding comping very slow when trying to comp multi tracks.

Lasso-select (in one swoop) and/or cmd-select (one by one) all regions you want to include into the take folder, then control-click any of them and choose Pack Take Folder from the contextual menu.

How to convert multitrack into separate mono tracks

Hi all,
a few years ago I worked in Audition 3, making a DTS CD. Now I want to do the same in CS5.5, but it seems I can't do it anymore. In Audition 3 I made a multitrack mix using envelopes and panning etc. Then I made a selection and went to View - Surround encoder. After placing all te tracks, I exported to 6 separate mono WAV files and I used an external program to put these 6 WAVs together into a DTS-WAV, which I then burned onto a CD.
In 5.5 I tried to make a DTS-WAV, but this isn't accepted in Nero for burning. So I wanted to return to Audition 3 and wanted to save all the tracks in my multitrack mix to separate mono WAV files and then load them in Audition 3 and from there make a DTS, the way I knowe it works. But I can't find how to save my mix to separate mono WAVs, one for each track.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you very much for your help. This could have done the trick. But when I tried it, it didn't work. I found out, that my 5.1 WAV file contains nothing but silence.... So somehow I must have a setting wrong. Here's what I did:
1. I made a multitrack mix with enveopes and panning and stuff. Saving this to a normal stereo MP3 was no problem
2. On each track I wanted in my surround mix I changed the Output from Master to Default Surround Output
3. I placed each used track in the Track Panner window to build the 5.1 composition
4. I changed the output setting from the Master also to Default Surround Output, because the default setting also gave me just silence
5. I exported the selection (not the entire session, because it's 2 hours, too long for a small test just to see if it works...) using File - Export - Multitrack Mixdown - Time selection with WAV PCM - sample type 44K 5.1 channels 32-bit and format uncompressed 32-bit floating point.
I was hoping that this would result in static noise while playing it back, because I don't have a 5.1 soundcard. But it just gives me silence, no statics. And changing to stereo channels also gives silence.... After shutting down Audition and starting it up again, I can make a normal stereo mix again, and changing to 5.1 channels gives me a 5.1 WAV file with only a stereo mix (so only L and R are filled, C, LFE, Ls and Rs are empty .....)
In Audition 3 I made a 5.1 mix without having a 5.1 card either, so that shouldn't be the problem..... Now I regret that I made the first mix in 5.5....... But if I want to make the 5.1 mix in Audition 3, that would mean that I have to make the complete multitrack mix again: this would be at least 3 or 4 days of work....
What am I doing wrong?

I made a CD from an old vinyl "The Best of the Staples Singers". Then I downloaded the Artwork. The artwork was from a later version of the same album. On that later version the tracks were in a different order and when I printed the insert for my CD I got the track order associated with the later version of "The Best of the Staple Singers". I deleted the artwork, however the tracks still print the order from the later version. Just to throw in an oddity: the tracks show up in the correct order on the screen and I can print a "List" & get the correct order, just not the CD insert. Hopefully someone will have a resolution for this problem. Thanks, Karen29

You have posted in the "Windows Compatibility" forum. What Windows® app are you using to manage, print, view, and burn your digital CD tracks that were converted from vinyl?
If "Help" for that app does not tell you how to reorder your digital tracks for CD creation, someone who uses that app may be able to tell you how they do it, but we need to know which app you are using.

I think rendering the audio has to do with the way I import to FCE. This is how I bring video into FCE because it seems to be the only way I can get it to work. I run my video camera through a digital coverter which runs a firewire into my Mac. I then import the video into imovie. After that is done, I do a drag and drop of the imovie into FCE. I have to render the audio because it just beeps if I don't when I play it back in FCE. I tried using the video capture in FCE but it keeps telling me it is unable to capture (my gues is the cameras are too old and the digital converter in not compatable with FCE or Mac). So once the video and audio footage is in FCE, if I click the green button on the left hand side, my rendered audio becomes a red line. However, I can click the same button on the upper video portion, and it drops the video out so I can see video clips on the lower levels and not just the first one on top. So that's why I render the audio. I can see all twelve audio tracks already. Tom- would making the change you suggest still help? Great book by the way also.

Importing problems have been rife in the recent iTunes release.
Not sure how to solve your problem, but until a solution comes along feel free to rip in another program, such as Windows Media Player, and add the resulting MP3s to your iTunes library.

     I have a field called dml_stmt, i am getting the dml statement has input from the user.
     My requirement is, if user is giving "update set col_name = 'xyz' from table_name where codition = 'aa'", before updating the table, i need to get old values from the table and put it in the audit table
     For that,i need to convert those update statement into select stmt and need to execute the query to get the data and then i will put it in the audit table..
     can anyone guide how to convert the update or delete stmt into select(need to write in pl/sql)

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would auditing help here? It sounds like the user wants to know the prior values of the data, not the SQL UPDATE statement that was issued. Auditing would tell you that a table was updated, fine-grained auditing would tell you what the UPDATE statement was, but you'd need something else to capture the state of the data prior to the update.
Depending on why putting triggers on every table was discounted, you may also want to take a look at using Workspace Manager or Total Recall (in 11g) to track a history of data changes. But triggers would be the common solution to this sort of problem.

You can't do this directly within the device. Your media needs to be in an iTunes library on your computer. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device if necessary.
Select your song.
On the Get Info > Options tab set start and stop times less than 40 seconds apart.
Under Edit > Preferences > General tab > Import Settings choose AAC Encoder > High Quality 128k.
Right-click on the song and select Create AAC version.
Reset the start and stop times on the original track.
Right-click on the new copy and click Show in Windows Explorer.
Change the file extension from .m4a to .m4r. (You may need to adjust folder options to see the extensions)
Move the file into the Automatically Add to iTunes folder.
Delete the broken entry to the file that you renamed and moved.

I use Audiobook Builder to convert Auciobook CDs to an ipod-compatible bookmarkable format, and the program handles all of the steps transparently. in iTune 10, how can I make this same conversion from an mp3 audiobook CD into iTunes? I tried following the instructions for this from an earlier post on this discussion group, but have run into a problem. When I select all of the MPEG audiofiles from the mp3 CD and instruct iTunes via the Advanced Menu to "Create AAC Version", iTunes says that it is converting the files track by track. BUT, when it is done, I still have only MPEG audio files showing, no AAC converted files. Thanks for any suggesions.

Does anyone know how to convert Banshee playlists into mpd-readable ones? mpd doesn't seem to like .m3u playlists exported from Banshee, not much info on this on the web either. Wondering if this is a solved problem but just not written about much?

Having a look at my mpd playlists (which are .m3u files), they are just a text list of paths to all the tracks in the playlist.
Perhaps posting a sample .m3u file exported from banshee will help, as we can compare the differences.
