WIM is an image file format and you can mount that file and extract the PDF files you are looking for inside the image:
Start a command prompt (cmd.exe) and run the command:
Dism /Mount-Image /ImageFile:C:\temp\install.wim /index:1 /MountDir:C:\temp\offline
After that, you will have all files inside that WIM file in the C:\temp\offline location.

How to convert InDesign CS4 doc to MS Word?

As a graphic designer, I always design brand stationery elements in InDesign CS4. Often a two colour pantone printing job for my customer to match envelopes and cards, etc.
Now I've got a young engineering customer who doesn't want hard copies. He wants a template(?) for his letterhead and contracts to be able to email. He uses MS Word. How best do I take an InDesign design and convert it to Word? (I hate the thought!)
I offered a PDF file he could print, but he can't use that on the road.
My design for him uses 2 Pantone colours; uses two fonts he doesn't have; and a tiff graphic as a tint in the background that bleeds to the edge.
Anyone done this before?
Will it look the same as my graphic?

One of the major problems with Microsoft Office products is their inability to allow import/placement of either EPS (properly - for screen display at all or for printing to non-PostScript devices) or PDF (simply not supported).
When faced with the issue of please prepare us some letterhead or provide us with a letterhead template (they just want the logo and the other material), my approach has been to do the design in InDesign and export PDF. The Word user creates their document on a blank page (leaving room for the stationery's logo, footer, etc.) and when done, saves as a PDF file. In Acrobat, they then use the Background or Watermark feature to add the stationery PDF to whatever pages of the document need that content. Foolproof and maintains the full graphic quality of the stationery as produced in InDesign, including if so desired, spot colors.

Batch Convert InDesign Files to PDF: Acrobat 9 Pro Opens CS3

A question came up in the InDesign forum about batch converting InDesign files. I've never really needed to do it but I was aware of the batch convert command. The OP reported errors so I tried it myself and while it worked, for some reason Acrobat 9 Pro is opening InDesign CS3 even though I have CS4 and CS5 installed.
I can't seem to find any way to change the default for INDD files. I tried launching ID CS5 first, but Acrobat still launched ID CS3. If I double click an INDD file in Windows Explorer, it opens in CS5 so the operating system has the default correct.
Any ideas?

When I convert the Adobe 10 PDF to Adobe LiveCycle ES2 it is a static document, thus not allowing me to make the text boxes expandable. How do I take a current Adobe 10 PDF with Text and convert it to Adobe LiveCycle ES2 so that I can make the text boxes expandable?

Hi Alan,
TextField objects can expand dynamically. There are a few things that you need to do:
1. The TextField object should be contained in a subform that is set to Content: Flowed. This isn't technically necessary, but if you have anything below the expanding text box and the subform is set to Positioned, the text will expand and overlay what's below.
2. On the Field tab of the text field's Object property tab, check the Allow Multiple Lines checkbox
3. On the Layout tab, check the Expand To Fit checkbox under Y:/Height
4. Set the PDF Render Format under Form Properties/Defaults to Dynamic XML Form. If you're previewing in Designer, don't forget to set the preview to Dynamic too.

Hello,
You can convert most of the files in PDF by using the Print menu.
Open the file you want to save in PDF and choose in the menu bar File > Print....
You will see a will the Print window and at the left, click on the PDF button.
Choose in the menu “Save as PDF...”
Insert the name and you can also set security settings (like a password) and click on the “Save” button.

Yup. You all are right. I ordered Adobe Acrobat today and the order is still processing. I can get to Adobe Acrobat.com but that too does not work.
