How to convert iTunes (9.1.1) from AAC to MP3 for SansaDisk Fuze+?

I want to download iTunes to Sansadisk Fuze+  using PowerBook G4 OS10.4.11 and iTunes 9.1.1
There is no option to convert from AAC to MP3.  The files are encoded with iTunes 8.1 which does not offer an option to convert files.

Never mind.  I found what I need.

How to Convert iTunes Songs (Apple lossless audio file) to a MP3 for E-mail?
My computer is Windows 7 and my Itunes software version is 1.0.2
    Many thanks in advance...

iTunes 1.0.2 is +at least+ eight years old.
The current version is 9.2, and it's free.
If that was a typo, and you're using something more current:
In the iTunes preferences, change the import settings to mp3.
Then select the songs you wish to convert.
From the "Advanced" menu, choose "Create mp3 version".
When done, change the import settings back to Apple Lossless.
    That's it.
BTW, this is the Logic Pro forum, which has absolutely nothing to do with iTunes.

how to convert itunes mp4 to mp3

So I'm being exact. You cannot "convert" a video file (with audio), to audio only.
You can extract the audio, or record the audio into an audio programme etc. as a way of obtaining the audio only. But convert... no.
I answered the question. I also asked the OP to give further information, so that we could possibly provide a suitable solution. After all, as lllaass has suggested, perhaps the OP wants to make a ringtone.

  • I converted some of my music from AAC to aiff, I do I tell in Music which files were converted? Thanks

I converted some of my music from AAC to aiff, I do I tell which tracks have been converted?

I have six playlists I select to sync to my iPod.
1 regular playlist with specific items I want to add then 5 smart playlist which select Recently added, Not played in last 6 months, etc.
It's not like you need to do the playlist all in one sitting.
Let iTunes create it's own playlist and sync to fill it up.
Then create your own playlist(s) when you have time.
In iTunes, go to menu View -> Show browser so you can easily sort though Genre, Artists and Albums.
Select the iPod in iTunes. Click the Music tab.
Tick *Sync music* and *Selected playlists*.
Tick the playlists you want on the iPod.
Then just add/delete from those playlists and plug in the iPod.
An easy way to manage what's goes onto the iPod...
Create a new smart playlist and *Match rule;*
Playlist is not iPod playlist (the name of the playlist you have chosen to sync).
This will show you songs in the library that are not on the iPod. Drag to the playlists you selected to sync to the iPod and it will be removed from this playlist.

  • How can I remove the background sound from the headphone jack for my MacBoo

for my MacBook Air problem adding music intensifier (Panasonic ST-HT1000) to give it an unpleasant sound background that sounds like a whiz, it's not so loud, but it is an unpleasant .. after a short time can get used to, but the fizz does not pass, however, believe that it is a big problem.
Further I notice that when MacBookAir disconnected from the charger, it remains quieter sound.
At first thought that the headphone jack (3.5 mm Headphone:
Connection: 1/8-Inch Jack) or wiere have problem, but tried 3 different cables, but that does change enything, the problem remains.
When I added iPhonu3GS playing - the background sound were not, then everything is OK!
How can I remove the background sound from the headphone jack for my MacBook Air 13?

There is no way to bring that up unless you have it typed in a document. You can use My Support Profile to find a list of serial numbers that have been purchased or registered with your Apple ID.

  • Why won't my playlists convert from aac to mp3

    Hi,
Never had to use the forum before as I've always previosuly been able to figure most stuff out that I needed to do, but I recently converted my whole music library from AAC format to MP3 (so that I can burn an MP3 disc to play in my car) with no problem using the "Advanced" tab and "Convert to MP3 format" tab.
(I've also changed my settings now so that all downloads are set to MP3 as well to stop this happening ever again!.)
However, I then tried to do the same for my playlists, but it just doesn't work for those using the "Convert to MP3 format" facility - even though it doers actually give the impression of doing so. i.e. It appears to be converting the songs and I even get a confimation tone when it's suppossedly finished converting the playlist, but the playlist still shows it's "Kind" as AAC,  and hasn't converted it at all!
The only way that I can find to do it is to delete the playlist (after printing out a copy of the playlist) and then manually re-creating the whole playlist again by dragging each song individually from the library! Which I obviously don't really want to do as I've got a lot of playlists and that would be very laborious and would quite frankly be a ridiclous thing to have to do again (especially after doing it already for the library).
Am I missing something here, expecting too much or just being thick?? Any one have a solution for this please?

Thank you, absolutely brilliant, I knew there had to be an easier way to do this!!! And also thank you so much for the really quick response too!
It took me less than a minute to do this for the first playlist and I'll now easily be able to do the same for all the other playlists - saving me potentially hours if I'd had to do it using the other way.
In case anyone is unaware, there is one further little tip once you have converted the playlist from AAC to MP3 and sorted by "Date Added". Press and hold Shift, then highlight (the first song) and scroll to the last song (which will then highlight all the songs that you've just converted) and then simply drag them to a new playlist - voila, job done!

  • Cannot change settings from AAC to MP3 encoder although able to do so on another computer

I am frustrated as I am able to change my settings on ITunes 10 on my desktop computer, but when I downloaded ITunes10 on my notebook, I was not able to change the same settings from AAC to MP3 encoder although I clicked ok. It keeps reverting to AAC, and I am not able to rightclick my music file, as I can do on my desktop, to create a smaller mp3....
I also noticed that other checkmarks, i.e. checking "podcast" under general preferences under source revert back to unchecked when I get out.
    What to do?
    Thanks so much,
    Anita

  • Does anyone know how to convert iTunes TV subscription downloads to files that I can put on a backup drive and watch on my TV vs. MacBook?

I purchased a TV series from iTunes and downloaded the HD version. I then copied it to a backup drive so I could plug it in to my DVD player to watch. This would not work. Does anyone know how to convert the files so they are watchable on TV rather than on my MacBook?

Video in the new iOS is under the application Videos. You should be able to find things there.

  • How to stop iTunes index files (*.itl) from backing up onto office server ?

Several of us new iPod users on my office LAN have been plagued by iTunes' unasked decision to locate its index files (I.e. iTunes Library.itl and itunes Music Library.xml) at
    \My Documents\My Music\iTunes.
Why is this annoying? Because, for example, when I
    a) dock my notebook at work, to be my desktop or
    b) log on to the work server from home via broadband
I have to wait while Windows synchronises those files with the copies on the server, (at \\bsecfs\users\bjc18\My Documents\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\.
    This
    1) wastes server space, 2) wastes my time and broadband costs by extending the synchronisation and 3) adds no functionality to my life - it is personal data and I want it all on my C: drive.
Another colleague found the library got placed on her Desktop and therefore the entire Library was synchronised into the server copy of her user profile. The LAN Manager was aghast!
I consider it impertinent of iTunes to choose where these files shall be placed.
QUERY: How can I instruct iTunes to place (or to move) those two files onto my notebooks C; drive where all the music lives?
    Cyclone Windows XP
    Cyclone   Windows XP

I consider it impertinent of iTunes to choose where
    these files shall be placed.
It's not impertinent, it's the Microsoft recommended practice. User specific files go into the My Documents folders. In iTunes case, the My Music folder is the logical place to put them.
QUERY: How can I instruct iTunes to place (or to
move) those two files onto my notebooks C; drive
    where all the music lives?
You can't. iTunes always puts the library files into the "My Music/iTunes" folder.
You can, however, change the location of the My Music folder. This is a folder specified in the registry. If you use TweakUI for Windows XP (google for it, it's on Microsoft's site), and change the location of the "My Music" special folder, then the library will be put there instead.

  • Cannot convert podcast from aac to mp3 in iTunes

I've downloaded the Mac Format podcast (auto link into iTunes) which is in acc format and right clicked it to select convert to mp3 as I want to burn to a disk (don't have an iPod - yes I know I'm the only one!) The progress bar shows the conversion taking place however once it has completed the file is still in acc format. How do I actually get it into mp3?

    madking wrote:
iTunes automatically turns both AAC and MP3 into a different file type when burning on a Cd,
Clarification... when burning an AUDIO CD. You can burn data and MP3 CDs in iTunes as well.

known as AIFF files. These AIFF files are playable by 99% of cd players, so you don't have to convert anything.
No, to nitpick, they are not in AIFF format but instead they are in Compact Disc Digital Audio format, aka "Red Book". When you put a CD into a Mac, it just shows them as AIFF files but they aren't until you actually copy them to your computer.

  • ITunes takes away sound from movies i sync for my ipod.

I got a new ipod nano video and i load all my movies into itunes
then i click the button saying sync for ipod/iphone
it takes about 5 hours to do that for each movie which is fine
but then once its done the sound is completely gone from the movie
so when i put it on my ipod there's no sound
if someone knows why and how I can fix it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Try using MPEG Streamclip to convert the videos; more information on this issue is available in this article.
