  • How to convert indivudual pages to black

    Hi all,
the PDF document I'm to process contains pages where color isn't needed. I would like to convert those pages to black only, but the lame Acrobat conversion dialog only takes a single range of pages as input, whereas I would like to be more specific, kind of like what you can do in the print or PDF export dialog in InDesign, for instance: "1-14, 21-54, 57, 103, 151-168". Opening the dialog over and over to convert the individual chunks of the book would take Eternity.
How do I do that? Thanks

You can use Print Production -> Convert Colors to convert single pages, a range of pages or  the entire document to greyscale.

  • How to install man pages

I recently installed Solaris 8 but did not install the man pages. Is it possible to install them now. If yes, then can I get from the install CD or can I download from sun's website.
    thanks for your help

yes, you can install manpages after the installation is done.
in the admintool you can choose software, then add.
now you must specify your media (cd) and choose the software to install.

  • How to Convert Blog Page in PDF and Print it Directly?

    Hi,
I have a technology tips and tricks related blog which is named TechnTechie. I want that my visitors will be able to convert all of my blog pages to PDF and also will be able to print that out with a single click with the pictures in the post. Is it possible to do that? If possible please suggest how to do that? My blog is in WordPress blog and the url is http://techntechie.com
    Thank You
    Himadri Subrah Saha

You cannot invoke "automatic" printing from the server side. Best what you can do is to download the whole PDF file inline and let the client decide what to do with it. If you really, really want to pick a page out of the PDF file and display that page only, then you should use a PDF reader API for Java to be able to pick a page programmatically. iText is such a PDF reader API for Java. You can find it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/itext

  • How to convert old pages to new pages to see on iPhone?

Aloha all, so does this mean that since iWork and iDisk are gone I have to use iCloud to get my stuff on my iPhone?
How do I get the older versions of pages documents into my iCloud?
Isn't there a conversion program to do this? Other wise whats the process to get them into 09?
do I have to redo all my files?
Please tell apple atleast solved this problem, its 2012 for christs' sake?

    Just open and resave them.
Once you set up iCloud in your System Preferences, it is just another palce to save to, not much different from your desktop.
It will pay to upgrade your system to ML. Lion was a rather bad joke on Apple's part. iCloud was not a transparent process at all in Lion.

  • How To Convert Multi Page Tiff Image Through open office in application

I will Appreciate Any Effort Or Reply Which Can Tell Me , To convert a multi-page tiff image in pdf format in application i.e not on desktop using simple open -office but through coding. I doubt if there Exists Ny Plugin Or Separate Library Which Can Do Tht.  Code Or Library inJava Language will Be Preferable

Your question does not make any sense. First, PDF does not support multi-page TIFFs. DO you have a PDF that you are trying to convert to WORD or what. It is unclear of what you are starting with and what your end goal is. If you are dealing with coding, you may need to check the SDK forum, but trying to understand what you are trying to do would be a good idea first.

  • How to make Adobe acrobat feature to convert SAP  Pages to PDF available for multiple users connected to the same server

We have installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro- English,Francais,Deutsch version 10.1.9 in our test environment and tried  testing it for converting SAP pages into PDF with a few pilot users. In doing so we faced a challenge, where only one user at a time can use Adobe Acrobat PRO to convert SAP pages in to PDF.As long as the first user who  is connected to Adobe Acrobat Pro via SAP isn’t logged off, other users connected to the same  server  are not being able to get the “Save As” dialog box to save the PDF in their preferred location.
This is a business requirement and we need an urgent solution for the same. Can anyone help us in telling us if this is possible and if yes the how to go about?

It's not something we deal with here, the LiveCycle products are a different world. Key points: Adobe LiveCycle is a range of products, some desktop, some server. LiveCycle PDF Generator is the one you should look at, it comes in 3 editions. License terms are by negotiation. Key management is via its Java API.

  • How can I convert iWeb page to html with NO javascript for email campaign?

I have a holiday greeting I made in iWeb '09 for my business. The service I'm using to use to manage my mailing list wants me to strip all javascript code from the page so it is not seen as spam when it is emailed.
How can I convert the page made in iWeb to an html page with no javascript?
    Thanks

How can I convert the page made in iWeb to an html page with no javascript?
You cannot. There will be nothing left. iWeb pages rely a lot on JavaScript.
Use a template from Mail.app. Or create such template. These are simple TABLES and have no JavaScript in it.
Do Cmd-Shift-G in the finder and type :
    /Library/Application Support/Apple/Mail/Stationery/Apple/Contents/Resources/
Open one of the folders and open each successive folder until you see files like Picnic.mailstationery.
Right-click to show the package content.
Then navigate thru Contents, Resources until you see the files and images you need.
Edit them to your hearts content.
Double-click the file Picnic.mailstationery and it will open in Mail.app for further processing.

When you installed Pages v5, it automatically moved the older Pages ’09 v4.3 into /Applications/iWork '09 folder. If you want normal comment interoperability, you are advised to resume using the older version of Pages. Newer, is certainly not better with Pages v5.

  • How can I convert a pages color document to a PDF Black and White doc.

How can I convert a pages color document to a PDF Black and White doc.  Or, covert the color to B&W in a new doc?

    > How can I convert a pages color document to a PDF Black and White doc.  Or, covert the color to B&W in a new doc?
The general idea is that you colour correct photographs once, archive, and convert with or without colour changes. The archived photograph is unchanged - or we would be colour correcting the same photographs again and again and again.
If you have a photograph with a corrected exposure, you can open the photograph in the Apple ColorSync Utility, apply a colour space conversion to a grayscale appearance using the preinstalled ICC profile, save the photograph under another name, and place that in your pagination.
If you have a paginated document with corrected exposures, and any such non-scalable bitmap or scalable spline graphics as you have chosen to add, you can render the pagination as a whole to PDF through the same ICC profile, carrying out the same colour space conversion on any and all objects.
Caveat: If you intend the pagination for certain processes, in particular offset lithography, then you are probably  expected not to render the type to grayscale, but rather to render it to single ink solid black. No software can determine what printing process you intend, you have to understand a bit about printing, and how to set up general colour space conversions in software. Ask your prepress provider, and if the answer is not prompt and proficient, pick another provider.

  • How to convert old windows 98 files to pages

This might be a very far out question that has no answer. I just found some ancient (windows 98) files on a memory stick that I would love to convert to pages. Is there a way to do that? Or a website where I can convert them (I'm probably thinking along the lines of youtube converters) or is it just tough luck - ancient hyroglyphs lost in the sands of time....
Any help how to do it (step to step instructions required, I'm afraid) or tips of where and how to do it are much appreciated!

I just opened a 1997 Word .doc file in LibreOffice 3.6.2 with all formatting preserved. Pages gave an import error as unsupported version of Word. Also, OpenOffice may work just as well, due to its inclusion of original StarOffice code. Both applications are free.
Connected a 1999 external USB floppy disk reader to Mountain Lion, and without drivers, it just worked.

  • How to install package's man page

    Hi all!
I'm the maintainer of pcsx2-svn in AUR and currently the installation process doesn't install the man page automatically. In the source code I have a "pcsx2.man" file, that I'm gzipping and moving to the correct man folder. See command:
    gzip -9 "${pkgdir}/opt/pcsx2/docs/pcsx2.man"
    mv "${pkgdir}/opt/pcsx2/docs/pcsx2.man.gz" "${pkgdir}/usr/share/man/man1/pcsx2.1.gz"
Is there a more proper way to do this in Archlinux?
    Thanks in advance!
p.s.: `make install` will not install the man page, only the translation files.

Ah, simple as that? I didn't how this works until now... Thanks, falconindy!

  • How to export all the man page in mac to PDF?

How to export all the man page in mac to PDF?
I have tried "man -t cat | pstopdf -i -o ~/Desktop/cat.pdf" but this only output one page.
How could I dump all the man pages to pdf with one or few command as possible?
The other question is, I copy all the man pages form /usr/share/man, they are .gz.
After I unzip them and open with less, texteidtor, ultraeditor, all the formate are weird.
Is there any tool could open them with the right formate as man does?
I know the man in linux uses the tool "less" to read man pages. How about mac???

I use Bwana. Copy all and paste into TextEdit. Then, save it. This is the beginning for diskutil:
    diskutil(8)               BSD System Manager's Manual              diskutil(8)
    NAME
diskutil -- Modify, verify and repair local disks.
    SYNOPSIS
         diskutil [quiet] verb [options]
    DESCRIPTION
diskutil manipulates the volume-level structure of local disks.  It pro-
vides information about, and allows the administration of, the partition-
ing scheme of disks, optical discs, and AppleRAID sets.
    VERBS
Each verb is listed with its description and individual arguments.
         list [-plist | device]
List disks.  If no argument is given, then all disks and all
                    of their partitions are listed.
If -plist is specified, then a property list will be emitted
instead of the normal user-readable output.  If a device is
specified, then instead of listing all families of whole disks
and their partitions, only one such family is listed.  In that
case, specifying either the whole disk or any of its slices
will work.  The -plist and device arguments may not both be
                    specified at the same time.
