How to convert to MP3 format?

I am using iTunes, 7.1.0.59.
I go to Edit, Preferences, Advanced Tab, and set iTunes Music folder location to :\Documens & Settings \All Users\Shared Documents\Shared Music\. The folder conatins 574MB, 19 Folders, 164 files. All type MPEG-4 Audio File. How can I convert these files to MP3 format?
I understand that I can bring the files into iTunes Music Library by clicking on File, Add Folder To Library, however they come in as m4a. Ater bring them in I can select a song, click on Advanced, Convert Selection to MP3 and create a duplicate listing for a single song. However, when I do this I do not see any new file on my hard disk. If I used this method I would repeat the command 167 times and end up with each song entered twice in iTunes Music Library. This is not what I want to accomplish. I want to permanetly change the file format on the hard disk from m4a to mp3.How can this be done?

The easiest, fastest, simplest, cheapest, most efficient way to do this is using dBpowerAMP.

    Anyone could teach me how to convert my MP3 music in my iPhone 5 into Ringtone?

    You can't do this directly within the device. Your media needs to be in an iTunes library on your computer. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device if necessary.
    Select your song.
    On the Get Info > Options tab set start and stop times less than 40 seconds apart.
    Under Edit > Preferences > General tab > Import Settings choose AAC Encoder > High Quality 128k.
    Right-click on the song and select Create AAC version.
    Reset the start and stop times on the original track.
    Right-click on the new copy and click Show in Windows Explorer.
    Change the file extension from .m4a to .m4r. (You may need to adjust folder options to see the extensions)
    Move the file into the Automatically Add to iTunes folder.
    Delete the broken entry to the file that you renamed and moved.

    Welcome to the Sun forums. But..

    This project involves I/O, JavaSound/JMF, converting audio formats, GUIs and SPIs. It is best broken down into parts, roughly along those lines.
    The fact you would dump your entire project description into a single post (without asking a clear specific question), supports that you are a newbie.
    Other notes:
    - You get more respect if you take the minimum effort needed to make your post more readable. To do that, add an upper case letter at the start of every sentence.
    - It is "Java Swing" not "java swings".
    - GUIs are an advanced subject, and you should first get this working from the command line, before ever considering a GUI.

  • Convert to MP3 format/Sync to MP3 player

    I have purchased songs from I-tunes for my MP3 player. I can see the songs on in the MP3 file, but can't play them...I think I need to convert the files to MP3 format, but am unsure how to do that. Also, how do you sync from I-Tunes onto my MP3 player?

    Can you clarify this a bit more. I assume you are saying that you purchased tracks from the iTunes music store? Is that correct?
    If so they are in AAC (MPEG-4) format. Do you know if they are protected tracks or if they are "Plus" (unprotected) tracks?
    For Plus tracks, you can import them by going into your preferences in iTunes and changing the IMPORT preference to MP3 format (if you are not already using it). Then "OK" out of preferences, find the songs you need to convert, right click on them and pick "Convert to MP3". This will make a new COPY of the file in MP3 format (the original AAC formatted version will remain there untouched).
    For protected tracks, you are not allowed to convert them directly to MP3 files. Instead, all you can do it add them to a playlist then burn them out to an AUDIO format CD. This converts them from AAC to a normal music CD like you would buy in the store. You can then treat the music CD like you would any other music CD including accessing it with iTunes like your store purchased music CDs.
    Once you have your MP3 files, usually all you need to do is drag and drop the files from the library window onto your MP3 player mounted on your computer. If it doesn't work directly from the library window, you can always go find the MP3 files in your folder structure and drag and drop them from there to the MP3 player.
    Which MP3 player do you have?

    Patrick

  • How to convert any date format?

    Hi,
    In the BPEL process I am getting the input in 'DD-MON-YYYY' format, I want to convert it to 'DD-MM-YYYY' format.
    The function xp20:formatDateTime('string', 'image') expecting the string to be in 'YYYY-MM-DD' format. and the 'image' can be set to any format.
    So i am able to convert to any format if I have the input string in 'YYYY-MM-DD' format, if I get in different format then how do I change them to required format?
    --Khaleel

    Looks like you are sending the date in Oracle format. If the date is created by a DB adapter the date should be formated in the correct format for BPEL to format (YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MI:SS). To make sure this happensyour xml needs to be the date data type and the value sent maust be a date not a string, if it is a string use the to_date to make it a date field.
    You are correct once it is in the YYYY-MM-DD format you can change to any format.
    cheers

  • How to convert to MP3 or ACC?

    I made a small song on garageband. now it is saved as .band
    but want it to be an mp3 or acc. how can i do this? i already tried taking it to itunes and when i try to convert it there, nothing happens. i also tried looking at it with quicktime but it wont let me convert.
    how can i do this?

    I would never suggest lossy re-encoding of already lossy encoded audio, this will kill it literally. There should be only one lossy encoding done at the final stage. So the best way for GB is to "Share to iTunes" and then convert to MP3 or AAC within iTunes or drag it to Finder and use any other free/commercial software you like.

  • Converting to MP3 Format, yet still not being able to Burn to MP3 CD

    Bit of an odd one this - I have converted Music Tracks to MP3 Format, yet when it comes to burning an MP3 Disc, only half of them appear with a Box stating: *'The file could not be burned to MP3 CD. Only files that are already in MP3 Format may be burned to MP3 CD.'*
    Why is this, when I have converted (painstakingly) each individual file to MP3 Format?

    Hello Country Linda,
    Thank you for your question. It sounds like you are unable to burn an audio cd in iTunes. Here is a general list of troubleshooting steps to check if you are having issues with iTunes burning your music to a disc.

  • Where in itunes can i find my songs i converted to mp3 format?

    I followed the steps to convert one of my playlists to mp3 format for a swimming device. I watched itunes convert it track, however I cannot find MP3 version.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    Go into song view and do a search on the song title. Alternatively go to menu > view > show duplicates.
    When you convert a track it goes into main library - does not stay in playlist.

  • I can not get my songs converted to MP3 format.

    I have tried numerous times to burn a playlist to a cd but every time I try I get an error message saying the song is not in MP3 format. I've read all the responses regarding the same issue and all the advice given I have tried but the issue still remains. Please someone help me!!!!

    Once you convert the songs to MP3, you need to add the newly converted MP3 to a playlist then burn this playlist.
    When converting, iTunes actually makes a new file. It does not convert the original file to a new format.

  • How to convert Time stamp format in CR

    Dear all Expert,
    I have a question. I have a field in my CR which is date time. It show 24.03.2011 03:30:00 in the tables. But when i drop this field in my CR, it become 20,100,906,080,000.00. How to convert it to 24.03.2011 03:30:00 in CR?
    Thank You.

    Hi Alex,
    If cdatetime won't work, try the following by creating a formula . Note : replace your time with database date field i.e. date_4.
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    Stringvar date4:=totext('24.03.2011 03:30:00');
    Numbervar yr;
    Numbervar mon;
    Numbervar dt;
    numbervar hh;
    numbervar mm;
    numbervar ss;
    yr:=tonumber(mid(date4,7,4));
    mon:=tonumber(mid(date4,4,2));
    dt:=tonumber(left(date4,2));
    hh:=tonumber(mid(date4,12,2));
    mm:=tonumber(mid(date4,15,2));
    ss:=tonumber(mid(date4,18,2));
    cdatetime(yr,mon,dt,hh,mm,ss);

  • How to convert any date format to default US format using javascript???

    Hi,
    I was trying to convert a date format to default US date format. The date format will vary according to different regions (It can be dd/MM/yyyy or MM/dd/yyyy or yyyy/dd/MM or any). I need to convert it in to MM/dd/yyyy always (US Format). Please give some
    solutions for the same.
    Warm Regards,
    Tony Joy

    hi
    it is not trivial task in common case. We faced with similar issue when tried to localize date times in display templates in Sharepoint 2013 depending on site's locale, which can be done only via javascript. In order to do it you need to add date time locale
    information from server side to client side, e.g. by defining global variable. See the following article for details:
    Localize datetimes in display templates in Content by search web parts in Sharepoint 2013. I extended OTB global object _spPageContextInfo with new property (as far as I remember this object is also available in Sharepoint 2010):
    <script type="text/javascript">
    jQuery(function() {
    if (typeof (_spPageContextInfo) != "undefined" &&
    _spPageContextInfo != null) {
    <%
    var ci = new CultureInfo(1033);
    var cultureSerialized = new JavaScriptSerializer().Serialize(
    new
    name = ci.Name,
    dateTimeFormat = ci.DateTimeFormat,
    numberFormat = ci.NumberFormat
    %>
    _spPageContextInfo.currentCultureSerialized = <%= cultureSerialized %>;
    </script>
    Having different date time formats for your locale, you may use
    Date.localeFormat function from MS Ajax for formatting the date in specific format. If in your case format is predefined you may hardcode it without adding DateTime formats from server side.
