How to convert ufs to zfs in Solaris 10

After installinng solaris 10 i wnat to convert my ufs to zfs , how can i do that , unfortunately tehre is no documentation available in docs.sun.com. any help is greatly appreciated

I found a document on Sun site long time ago titled "The best file system in the world" (Peter Baer Galvin's as far as I remember). I believe it can be still found somewhere there, and here are some of citations that may be helpful:
There are many things that ZFS is, currently, and a few that it is not. The most frustrating current limit is that ZFS cannot be the root file system. A project is underway to resolve that issue, however. It certainly would be nice to install a system with ZFS as the root file system and then to have features like snapshots available for systems work. Consider taking a snapshot, making a change that causes a problem on the system (e.g., installing a bad patch), and then reverting the system to its pre-patch state by restoring the snapshot.
Also, ZFS can be imported and exported, but it is not a true "clustered file system" in that only one host can access the file system at one time.
An open issue is the support of ISVs, such as Oracle, for the use of a ZFS file system to store their data. I'm sure this will come over time.
Hot spares are not implemented currently. If a disk fails, a zpool replace command must be executed for the bad disk to be replaced by a good one.
A mirror can be removed from a mirror pair by the zpool detach command, but RAID-Z sets and non-mirrored disks currently cannot be removed from a pool.
Also, currently there is no built-in encryption, and at this point ZFS is a Solaris-only feature. Whether ports will be done to other operating systems remains to be seen.
Just a brief word on the readiness of ZFS for production use. Usually, a new file system would not even be considered for production use for quite a while after its first ship. ZFS, on the other hand, may well garner production use immediately on its production ship. The testing that has gone into ZFS is astounding, and in fact testing was considered a first-class component of the ZFS design and implementation.

Can't boot with zfs root - Solaris 10 u6

Having installed Solaris 10 u6 on one disk with native ufs and made this work by adding the the following entries
/etc/driver_aliases
glm pci1000,f
/etc/path_to_inst
<lang pci string for my scsi controller> glm
which are needed since the driver selected by default are the ncsr scsi controller driver that do not work in 64 bit.
Now I would like to create a new boot env. on a second disk on the same scsi controller, but use zfs instead.
Using Live Upgrade to create a new boot env on the second disk with zfs as file system worked fine.
But when trying to boot of it I get the following error
spa_import_rootpool: error 22
panic[cpu0]/thread=fffffffffbc26ba0: cannot mount root path /pci@0,0-pci1002,4384@14,4/pci1000@1000@5/sd@1,0:a
Well that's the same error I got with ufs before making the above mentioned changes /etc/driver_aliases and path_to_install
But that seems not to be enough when using zfs.
What am I missing ??

Hmm I dropped the live upgrade from ufs to zfs because I was not 100% sure it worked.
Then I did a reinstall selecting to use zfs during the install and made the changes to driver_aliases and path_to_inst before the 1'st reboot.
The system came up fine on the 1'st reboot and did use the glm scsi driver and running in 64bit.
But that was it. When the system then was rebooted (where it made a new boot-archive) it stopped working. Same error as before.
I have managed to get it to boot in 32bit mode but still the same error (thats independent of what scsi driver used.)
In all cases it does pop the SunOS Relase banner and it do load the driver (ncrs or glm) and detects the disks in the correct path and numbering.
But it fails to load the file system.
So basically the current status are no-go if you need to use the ncrs/glm scsi driver to access the disks with your zfs root pool.
File-Safe works and can mount the zfs root pool, but that's no fun as server OS :(

Max File size in UFS and ZFS

Any one can share what is max file size can be created in Solaris 10 UFS and ZFS ?
What will be max size file compression using tar,gz ?

A sparse file can have a logical size of one terabyte.
However, the actual amount of data that can be stored
in a file is approximately one percent less than one
terabyte because of file system overhead.
As for ZFS, well, its a 128bit filesystem, and the maximum size of a file or directory is 2 ^64^ bytes, which i think is somewhere around 8 exabyte (i.e 8192 petabyte), even though my calculator gave up on calculating it.

This is where is I saved my file

But I don't really understand how to convert the class file.
May I know what is this for?

You should find another extranal system id in order to mantain uniqueness, but you could also use the name field (that supports 50 characters), but it deppends of which entity you are using.
Which is the entity? and...if the only way to insert data is by web services the you could use more than one field to verify uniqueness since you can query more than one field at the time.

To whom it may concern,
Does anyone know how to convert a Web app into a channel inside the Portal server 6.0?
I developed the web app and tried to create a provider and a channel for it, but the Portal server did not recognize the WEB-INF folder and give me errors saying that it couldn't locate the class files.
I also have a problem with URL inside my jsp page (channel).
For example, I have two jsp pages:
/etc/opt/SUNWps/desktop/default/MyCustomProvider/test1.jsp
/etc/opt/SUNWps/desktop/default/MyCustomProvider/test2.jsp
and when I try to put a link from test1.jsp to test2.jsp using
... and make a channel based on test1.jsp. The channel will display the link as "http://mydomain/portal/test2.jsp" and result in "Error: page not found". I want the link to point to
/etc/opt/SUNWps/desktop/default/MyCustomProvider/test2.jsp
To summarize my questions,
1) Where should the web app be located in the Portal server?
2) How to make a link inside one jsp page (channel) to point to another page inside the same folder?

The portal server keeps reporting "Server Error..." when I tried to add query at the end of the href.

Don't use SSIS to convert. Use SSIS to FTP the files out.
How you convert to PDF: the format is owned by Adobe so there might be royalties involved, but there are paid and free (OSS) libraries to doing so. Just search online.

Very Urgent--- How to Convert Non Valuated stk into Valuated

Dear GURU'S
Actually for a material A when i see the stock in MM03 in accounting tab i see less stock then when i see in MMBE
i.e in MMBE if i select Material A and Plant B(Which is depo in my case) i see stock as 39
but for same material MAterial A and Plant B ,if i see in MM03 --in accounting tab i m able to see less stock i.e only 1

Well the problem is In MM03 I cud see only valuated stk i.e qty as 1
And in MMBE for a partiocular material for a particular plant the stock was 39
i.e Here i am getting Valuated + Non valuated stock
i.e i am getting difference of 25

To get into the root cause
I have gone to MB5B where i can get all the transaction that has been done on this material with movement type also i got the intial stock ,Goods recpt ,Goods issu and total stock
No for a particular material
In MB5B it is showing
Stock on 01.01.2005    = 38
receipts total               = 238
Issues total                  =237
Stock as on 18.02.2008 = 39(which is equal to Stock in MMBE)
=============>This is for valuated +Non valuated stock
Where as if i want to see only valuated stock it was showing
receipts total      = 238
Issues total         =237
Stock as on 18.02.2008 =1 (which is equal to stock in acctg view in MM03)
====================>This is only for Valuated Stock
======================================
Now how to solve this :
The initial qty(38) which has been posted it was at the begining that is at the start of the project
And the people who have posted it ,it was non valuated
that is the reason it is showing difference in MM03 and MMBE
First thing
How can i see on which date this initial stock has been posted
Second Query
How to convert this non valuated stock into Valuated stock
So that the quantity in MMBE and MM03 gets matched

Actuallly i have checked the history of that particular Item in MB51
I have gone through all the documents created for this material
Now this material also exist in DEPO which is located at chennai and plant is at mumbai
So Initially in the year-2006(31-10-2006) whater documents are created i.e STOP has been created and delivery has been made (Mov type-601)
are non valuated stock ,means they have been posted without any valuation
But from year 2007(01.02.2007) the documents whiohc have been posted are valuated
i.e is the reason when i am executing transaction MRN9 to check the history of valuated stock
I cant see non valuated stock
Well now how to do the valuation of this stock which have been posted in year 2006 so that
In MMBE and MM03 there is no difference of stock

Sorry for the interruption.I am also facing the same problem.I am using DEJDecompiler.But my application is not J2ME But J2EE.( a Swing application).I opened .class file and made some changes but I dont know how to convert into a .class file again.
I tried saving .jad file to .java file.Then it is showing lot of errors in Eclipse Platform.I doubt if there are any errors in the .class file already,then how could the program would run.I put all the programs in the respective platforms only and then testing.It fails.
(2) one more question,is if I do not need to disturb any existing coding and need to create a seperate java file which will do my customisation,then what should I do.I could not get any interfaces in the program.
Please help me as the matter is most urgent.

Although i have seen a few programs (that are platform specific) that will embed a small jvm into an exe with your class file, it is generally excepted that you cannot create an executable file using java. The JAR executable file is probably the closest your going to get

Beside this I wonder where you get your error from since AFAIK 12c comes with java 1.6.

OP isn't using Oracle 12c database.
They are using Oracle R12.1.3 - which is the E- Business Suite.
