How to convert vis made in 7.1 to 8.2

Hi
I am new to LabVIEW development, so my queries may seem silly.
We have our control system written entirely in LabVIEW 7.1 and now I want to update it to 8.2.
How do I do it? Has anyone of you migrated from 7.1 to 8.2?

thanks, it wasn`t as easy as you sugest, but i have found the rigth help whit your suggestions, here is the full way to repair this error for any one who has this problem:
To use an Agilent GPIB card with NI-VISA, do the following. Be sure to reboot when prompted.
1.      Install NI-VISA (version 2.5 or later).
2.      Install the Agilent IO Libraries Suite. Choose the Typical installation (which will detect NI-VISA and default to side-by-side mode), or choose the Custom installation and specify side-by-side mode when prompted. Once the installation is complete, turn your computer off.
3.      Install the Agilent GPIB card in your computer, following the instructions that came with the card. Turn the computer on.
4.      Run Agilent Connection Expert. Select the GPIB interface corresponding to the card you have just installed, click Change Properties... and specify a VISA interface ID other than GPIB0 (for example, GPIB1). If you previously installed and used NI-VISA, run NI MAX to ensure that the VISA interface ID you have selected is not already being used by the NI software.
5.      Use the NI Measurement and Automation Explorer (NI MAX) to enable the Passport for Tulip.
6.      Close MAX; wait about 5 seconds to allow the computer time for reconfiguration; then restart MAX.
7.      The Agilent GPIB card should now be accessible from NI-VISA and visible using the NI MAX and Visa Interactive Control (VISAIC) programs.
8.      See the Known Problems using Agilent GPIB with NI-VISA 2.5 topic for information on how to correct a problem which may prevent NI-VISA from finding the GPIB interface.

I am not very sure, what is your exact requirement. Correct me if i am wrong, you want to convert .wsdl(service) to java service.
Web Services are
- Reusable application components
- Connect existing software , in other terms it doesn't care about platform and service developed language
- Web services help solve the interoperability problem by giving different applications a way to link their data.
- Using Web services you can exchange data between different applications and different platforms out of System Firewall.
If your want define the Same ABAP Function Module Service to EJB/ JAVA Service you need to write all the business logic in JAVA. It creates same .wsdl for the service and you use the same in your Web Dynpro. Accessing in Web Dynpro is same for any kind of service.
If you want to access BAPI Service in JAVA instead of Web Dynpro, you need to create a Proxy (Deplyable / Standalone) and call this service in EJB. This is useful if you want to move your service accessing logic from Web Dynpro to some middle ware (EJB), this is useful.

Very Urgent--- How to Convert Non Valuated stk into Valuated

Actually for a material A when i see the stock in MM03 in accounting tab i see less stock then when i see in MMBE
i.e in MMBE if i select Material A and Plant B(Which is depo in my case) i see stock as 39
but for same material MAterial A and Plant B ,if i see in MM03 --in accounting tab i m able to see less stock i.e only 1

Well the problem is In MM03 I cud see only valuated stk i.e qty as 1
And in MMBE for a partiocular material for a particular plant the stock was 39
i.e Here i am getting Valuated + Non valuated stock
i.e i am getting difference of 25

To get into the root cause
I have gone to MB5B where i can get all the transaction that has been done on this material with movement type also i got the intial stock ,Goods recpt ,Goods issu and total stock
No for a particular material
In MB5B it is showing
Stock on 01.01.2005    = 38
receipts total               = 238
Issues total                  =237
Stock as on 18.02.2008 = 39(which is equal to Stock in MMBE)
=============>This is for valuated +Non valuated stock
Where as if i want to see only valuated stock it was showing
receipts total      = 238
Issues total         =237
Stock as on 18.02.2008 =1 (which is equal to stock in acctg view in MM03)
====================>This is only for Valuated Stock

Now how to solve this :
The initial qty(38) which has been posted it was at the begining that is at the start of the project
And the people who have posted it ,it was non valuated
that is the reason it is showing difference in MM03 and MMBE

How can i see on which date this initial stock has been posted
Second Query
How to convert this non valuated stock into Valuated stock
So that the quantity in MMBE and MM03 gets matched

Actuallly i have checked the history of that particular Item in MB51
I have gone through all the documents created for this material
Now this material also exist in DEPO which is located at chennai and plant is at mumbai
So Initially in the year-2006(31-10-2006) whater documents are created i.e STOP has been created and delivery has been made (Mov type-601)
are non valuated stock ,means they have been posted without any valuation
But from year 2007(01.02.2007) the documents whiohc have been posted are valuated
i.e is the reason when i am executing transaction MRN9 to check the history of valuated stock
I cant see non valuated stock
Well now how to do the valuation of this stock which have been posted in year 2006 so that
In MMBE and MM03 there is no difference of stock

How to convert a .jad file to .class file in JAVA Swings.

Sorry for the interruption.I am also facing the same problem.I am using DEJDecompiler.But my application is not J2ME But J2EE.( a Swing application).I opened .class file and made some changes but I dont know how to convert into a .class file again.
I tried saving .jad file to .java file.Then it is showing lot of errors in Eclipse Platform.I doubt if there are any errors in the .class file already,then how could the program would run.I put all the programs in the respective platforms only and then testing.It fails.
(2) one more question,is if I do not need to disturb any existing coding and need to create a seperate java file which will do my customisation,then what should I do.I could not get any interfaces in the program.
Please help me as the matter is most urgent.

How to convert LV Vi's from LV 7.0 to higher versions or viceversa.I need the steps.

For example i have labview 7.0 and i wan to open in LV 8.0 or still higher..so how to convert my VIs to higher versions or vice versa..I need the steps to convert.

If you want to convert a vi written in LV 7.0 to a higher version (say 8.5) open the vi written in 7.0 with 8.5 and then save the same. (once you save it to 8.5, you can not open it with 7.0 since 8.5 is higher than 7.0. So male sure to back up your 7.0 version files)
Now to convert a vi from 8.5 to 7.0 (for example) it gets a litle complicated becase you have load the vi in LV8.5 and then select the option File-->Save for Previous version and select the appropriate option (like 8.2, 8.0 or any other that gets populated in the drop down menu).
Now say that you have selected the option 8.0, Again the vi saved in 8.0 and follow the same procedure to save it to 7.0 version of labVIEW.
The reason i said it gets complicated becasue you must have installed all the version of labVIEW (in the above case its LV 8.0) for a sucessful downgrade.

How to convert .MOD files into .DV for iMovie import

I am urgently (and desperately) trying to import some .MOD files into iMovie 09 for editing. They were made on a JVC cam, but I only have them on HDD now. I tried renaming files to .avi, but still cannot import them. I used Handbrake to convert to mp4 files and can import them now, but quality seems to be reduced even though destination file size is similar.
Can anyone tell me how to convert the .MOD files to .DV files easily? I have read about the ffmpeg tool that you can use in the Terminal, but am not confident to do this as have never used Terminal !
Any help and advice would be very much appreciated.

I have a JVC everio 30 GB hard drive video camera and I'm trying to convert the videos as well. Mine are also in mod format and my computer won't convert it either. Should I upgrade to quicktime pro 7 for $30 or just pay $20 for the mpeg-2 add-on? This is for a family camera that is used mainly for occasional family vacations/get together's. No editing, I just want to get these off the camera's hard drive because the hard drive is running out of space and I wanna be able to make them into DVDs so we have a hard copy in case anything happens to my laptop. I'm not sure which is better for my use? The add-on is cheaper but is there other advantages for me to get pro?

I like to create a set of font, and I have made them in a image editing tool, I have FontForge downloaded but decide to use it to convert instead direct design them inside.
So now I don't know how to convert the PNG image to vector image required by the FontForge, I read some post mentioned Ubuntu has utilities to convert, but I'm not sure OS X has that function too.
Could anyone let me know how to convert PNG so I can create my fonts?
If PNG can't, the software can export TIFF or jpeg or similar.
Please help me, I need make them this few day.

How to convert pulses into RPM

I am using a counter to count the pulses given from a hall sensor to detect the speed of a motor. I can see the pulses on the graph and I have the operation running in a while loop but I am having issues with setting up a fixed time for the counter to run. I am using a USB 1208LS DAQ which requires Universal Library and I don't know how to convert the pulses that I get into a frequency or RPM's.
I just learned how to use Labview so this is getting pretty frustrating.

I am not very familiar with the hardware you have or the Universal Library. It seems from the spec page for the device however that it does not have any counters on it. So is this being read in as a digital channel or an analog channel, because I did not see any specifications on the sampling rate of the digital channels?
If this is coming in as an analog signal there are some signal processing VIs that you can use to determine frequency. Specifically Extract Single Tone Information.VI will find the frequency of your analog signal.

How to convert Sequence file documentation from TXT or HTML to MS Word ?

Hello, I would like to modify a DocSupport.prj which in default generate only TXT or HTML to support MS Wors *.DOC. I have already change the dialog (add *.doc filter..), that was simple. But the major problem is how to convert the output from doc.c to some *.doc file. I found somewhere here Word9 ActiveX Instrument for CVI, but I don't understand, how the CVI gets informations about the steps etc. from *.seq file for another use. The original code in doc.c is quite hard to understand it quickly. Thanks for help.

You should be able to just change the file it saves to's extension to .doc. You'll notice there is a define for txt, you could either change this to doc or if you still want to be able to use txt, create a new define and use this. If you do this you'll need to also add a define above (as you see it defines an integer for each different format type and uses those throughout the program as well). That should give you a good starting point for modifying this code. Unfortunately it is quite extensive to actually accomplish this, or else I could give a step by step guide, but it is rather long. But you should be able to get it working from this. The reason this should work is because Microsoft Word (.doc) files understand plain text just like .txt files. However, if you want to add formatting (fonts, bold text, etc) you would need to use the ActiveX Instrument for CVI which just access the ActiveX server from Microsoft.
