How to convert XPS file to a PDF one via Adobe Acrobat XI Pro with command line?

Hello,
How to convert XPS file to a PDF one via Adobe Acrobat XI Pro with command line?

It is not good. If I need to export some hundred of separate *.XPS files to hundred separate *.PDF files, I need to do this manually with each file. It is stone age.

  • Why can't I create Fillable PDF Forms using Adobe Acrobat X Pro and upload to Dreamweaver?

I can create fillable PDF Forms using Adobe Acrobat X Pro. I can email them to someone using Adobe Reader (free) and they can fill them, save and email to me. But when I upload the form to Dreamweaver CS5, the form is not fillable. And yes, I saved it as a Reader Extended PDF-Enable Additional Features.

I see no reason for this form to fail in Reader. Some questions for you.
    1. On the system with Adobe Reader, what is the system and the version of Adobe Reader?
    2. Are you viewing the PDF in a browser on the system with Reader, or in an Adobe Reader window?
    3. If it's a browser
    (a) what is the browser
    (b) if you download the file instead, and open directly in Reader, what happens?

  • Problems printing PDF's using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

During the last two weeks, I have been unable to print a PDF from my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. They appear okay on the screen, but print as gibberish.
After consulting the forums, one workaround suggested was to print as image. Tried it, also prints gibberish.
Another suggestion to update my printer software, did it. Still prints as gibberish. My priner is an Epston Stylus Photo R220.
I'm a writer, not a software technician. I am not using a bootleg copy of the program, but an educational version, so Adobe won't offer me any advice over the phone without payment.
Anything else I could try before paying?

I have same problem as described above, but not always.  Seems to depend on the web page I am trying to print to Adobe. One consistent culprit is Bank of America.  Looks okay until I print to Adobe Acrobat 9 or 10. Then it's gibberish.  i had to copy to Word and then print Word to Acrobat or printer.
    . Various computers,
. same problem with either Acrobat 9 or 10.
. Not a problem printing to Acrobat from a Word or Excel or Outlook document
. Only from certain websites and not the entire page, only the OCR part. The objects: logos, pictures are okay, only text is messed up.
Definitely would like Adobe to fix this.

  • Converting pdf to word Adobe Acrobat XI Pro trial

I am using a 30 day trial of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, when I convert a pdf to word doc, it has several hidden letters & symbols, is this because it is a trial?

The trial is fully functional so, no.
That being said, the Acrobat forum is at http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat. You'll want to ask your questions there.

  • Viewing PDF Portfolio using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro in Sharepoint Foundation 2013

When opening a PDF Portfolio, created using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, in Sharepoint Foundation 2013 the pages are blank in the default Layout view but you can see the contents in File view. How do we correct that so the files appear in both views? Local IT stated it is an ADOBE problem.

  • Why is exported file coming up read-only in Adobe Acrobat 9 pro?

Hi. Would appreciate  whatever help anyone can give me. I spent the last 2-3 weeks  working on a scientific poster for my brother, who is a doctor. I did  the work in Adobe.com and came to the realization I was not going to be  able to save it outside the program, since it is a trial.
However,  I chanced across the Export command and exported it into Adobe Acrobat 9  Pro. Only problem is it is now a read-only file. I can't manipulate the  text. The poster is going to be about 3' X 3' and right now it has been  formatted for 8 1/2" X 11" pages. I think the Fed Ex folks are going to  need some editing power.
So,  does anyone know if I can change this document to be edited? Or if it can be edited? Tried  saving to a thumb drive, but that didn't work either.
(Please  help me! This Adobe site is so complicated it is driving me mad!)
    Thanks!

  • How do I get rid of the trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

I downloaded the trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and now my trial is over.  I can no longer view any .pdf files on my computer--every time I download a .pdf file it just takes me to this site and tries to get me to buy the product.  I tried to uninstall this program, and when I do it says, "Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transforms are valid."  Please help me get rid of this so that I can re-install Adobe Reader so that I can view my own files!

When I go to remove it, it says, "Error applying transforms.  Verify that the specified transforms are valid" & will not let me remove it.  Do you know of anything else I could try?

  • How can I download Adobe Acrobat X Pro with the serial number but no CD?

I purchased Adobe Acrobat X Pro months ago, and I need to install it on a second computer. I can only find one of the CDs in the case with the serial number. I can't view my order in the history because it was months ago. The history only shows past 30 days.
If there a way for me to download what I need since I have the serial number and another license?

Download the trial version from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-x-10-pro-reader-suite-direct-download-links-ddl.ht ml
Follow the Very Important Instructions on that page first otherwise the links will not work.
When you launch the trial, enter your serial number to convert it to a full version.

  • Converting XPS file to PDF

    Hello,
I need to write program which automatically convert all xps files from foler into pdfs. One of my ideas is using pattern -> Opening XPS file, then printing it with "Adobe PDF" printer.
Can you give me any help how I can write a program to do it? Or maybe you have another idea how I can do it?
    Thank you for your help.
    Best regards,
    Robert

    Hello,
Thank you for your answer. I really appreciate your help, but I need to write this conversion part manually and put into my macro (which is making a lot of more stuff, and this will be one of it functionality). Do you have any idea how I can do it?
Basically, write I wrote before it just need to open a file, and print it with "Adobe PDF" printer. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do it.
    Hello,
For converting xps file to pdf, if your pc installed Office, then you could consider the way shared in the following thread.
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/4301147c-cc84-43ed-993f-691a8cb682b1/convert-xps-to-pdf-file-in-vs-2008?forum=vbgeneral
something like  (don't forget to reference Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel)
    Dim Exapp As New Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application
    Dim ExWB As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Workbook = Exapp.Workbooks.Open("yourfilename")
    ExWB.ExportAsFixedFormat(Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.XlFixedFormatType.xlTypePDF, "yourexportedfilename")
    and
    Hi narayanan_1983,
This article will tell you how to convert XPS file to PDF in vb.net:
    http://www.aspose.com/docs/display/pdfnet/Convert%20XPS%20files%20to%20PDF%20format
From this article, we know that you could use  a class named
[{{XpsLoadOptions}}] which is used to initialize a LoadOptions object. Later, this object is passed as an argument during the
Document object initialization and it helps the PDF rendering engine to determine the source document's input format.
' Instantiate LoadOption object using XPS load option
Dim options As Aspose.Pdf.LoadOptions = New XpsLoadOptions()
    ' Create document object
Dim document As Aspose.Pdf.Document = New Aspose.Pdf.Document("D:\source.xps", options)
' Save the resultant PDF document
    document.Save("D:\resultant.pdf")
If you have any other concern regarding this issue, please feel free to let me know.
    Best regards,
    Youjun Tang

  • While creating a PDF document usinf Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, it generates additional blank pages.

While creating a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, it generates additional blank pages. How do I resolve this issue?

I might make a wild guess that you are using WORD and have used hard page breaks. If that is the case, then likely what happens is when you print to PDF the document is being reflowed to match the printer and the forced page break may end up on the next page and be forcing a second page. Just a guess.

  • Problem printing with Adobe Acrobat X pro. No File Save As dialog

We have a C++ program to print a formatted report, by selecting the configured  printers. "Adobe PDF" printer is available on install of Adobe Acrobat Pro.
During report print  when "Adobe PDF" printer is selected, the report use to get printed in a PDF document & saves at the path provided by the User.
Internally it uses printer APIs like  OnBeginPrinting, StartDoc, OnPrepareDC, StartPage, OnPrepareDC etc.
Report printing was working fine with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1. But since I installed Adobe Acrobat X pro (with update as 10.1.3) I am unable to print PDF document using "Adobe PDF" pinter.
StartDoc API does not pops up the "File Save As" dialog at all.
Any help in this regard, would be very useful.
Note: My code is working fine, if I use freeware like CutePrinter.
    Thanks,
    Amit Agrawal

    Interesting. My approach would
    1. Try on a different system if available. If still bad...
    2. Try to create a simple test application with CreateDC and StartDoc, and really nothing else not absolutely needed.
Test that.  If it is good, look for other problems in your application (e.g. memory overwrite).
If your little example is still bad, post it here and other people can try and compare your results.

  • How can I make a 1-Click short cut for a specific tool in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro?

How can I make a 1-Click short cut for Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for the function "Create" > "PDF from Scanner" > "Black & White Document"?

    No, Acrobat can't do that.

  • Graphics in FrameMaker 9 lost when converted in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

Since upgrading to FrameMaker 9, some graphics that appear fine in FrameMaker become black boxes in the PDFs created by Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. By finding the original graphic and reimporting it, the problem is solved, but the original graphic is not always available. Is there any other workaround to this problem created by the software? Suggestions would be gratefully appreciated!

I use Save As PDF (book). When I print to PDF, I don't get the problem (but I don't get the bookmarks)
I think you find in many places on this forum that the best practices for making a PDF is to print to the Adobe PDF printer, either directly or indirectly (saving the ps file and distilling with Distiller). It is my understanding that there are problems with Save As PDF.
In any event, you should be able to get bookmarks by printing to Adobe PDF printer. In the Print dialog, select Generate Acrobat Data and click PDF Setup. In the PDF setup dialog > Bookmarks tab, select Generate PDF Bookmarks and select the formats to bookmark. It is the same dialog that displays when you do Save As PDF.
Because your graphics are COPIED into the Frame files, I know of no way to get them out again from the Frame file. That is why I always import graphics by reference, so that the original graphic is always available if needed for editing or reimportation.
If you absolutely need a graphic file AND the Frame to PDF workflow is working properly, you can always create the PDF for the page with the graphic (turning OFF all resampling and compression). Then open the file in Illustrator and delete all but the graphic; then save as PDF or eps. Or open the PDF in Acrobat Professional and export the image (if a bitmap) or delete all but the graphic and save as PDF.

  • Missing characters in generated PDF - Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

PDF documents printed from Framemaker or Microsoft Word are missing characters. Usually the missing characters are after bold text or headings. If the text is underscored, the underscores are printed, but the text is not. When I have these source files printed to PDF by someone using Acrobat Distiller included with FrameMaker 7.2, all of the text is included.
I apreciate any ideas yo may have.

    Install the following Microsoft Hotfix.

  • Adobe reader XI no longer plays video or audio embedded in PDF created with Adobe Acrobat X Pro.

    Help please!
Embedded video and audio content in PDFs created using Adobe Acrobat X Pro does NOT play on some school computers after Acrobat Reader XI is installed. The media content played fine with Acrobat X. This is seen with both XP and Windows 7 machines.
Bizarrely, other machines with Windows 7 and XP play the video and audio content fine when Acrobat XI is installed.
Please help, as the PDFs are the delivery mechanism for a very effective literacy programme for children, and this bug has halted delivery for a considerable number of schools and thousands of children are in trouble!

    Hi Raman,
I think we have found the source of the problem. It relates to how different browsers are detected by Adobe when updating Flash Player.
To make the videos play within PDFs either from DVD or on the hard drive, it is now essential that Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin (now version 11.5.502.113) is installed. (Adobe Reader 10 had its own internal flash player, so an external player was not needed)
We have discovered that, when Google Chrome is the browser, automatic updates of Flash do NOT download this programme. Flash 11 ActiveX is the only programme that is downloaded, and the videos do NOT play from DVD or harddrive.
Also, it is not possible to manually download Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin as this option is not presented to the user. Presumably Adobe have set it up this way, because the Adobe site recognises Chrome is being used, and assumes that the computer does not need the plugin flash player, as Chrome has its own internal flash player. However, other programmes may need it!
We went to FileHippo to download the non-IE version (even though we were using Chrome!) at
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_firefox/
Then the videos played from DVD or harddrive.
I have not been able to test how this works with other browsers. I hope that Adobe can sort this problem out asap!
    regards
    Buffy
