How to Copy a DVD on HP TouchSmart 300 desktop

I have a HP TouchSmart300 desktop. Is there a program that comes with the computer that will copy a DVD. Not trying to copy a protected DVD. I am use to using Roxio and Nero on my old laptop, but have not had success trying to do this on this new computer. Would appreciate help. cm

Here's one method you could use.
Download and install the free software ImgBurn.
The easiest way to then copy a DVD to a blank DVD is as follows.
1. Create a Disc Image file of the DVD you wish to copy on your PC - a guide to doing this is Here.
2. Write this Disc Image to your blank DVD - a guide to this is Here.

Open System Profiler (In your Utilities folder) and under Hardware Overview, look for the model identifier. That will identify the MBP.

How to copy from DVD

Hi.
I have a dvd which contain my friend's wedding movies. The problem is that everytime I played it on the DVD player, it gets stuck and said 'skipping damaged area'. But when I played on an actual player on the tv, everything's fine. Recently my friend asked me to edit the video so I wanted to copy the files to my hd.
But it has two different files, Audio_TS and Video_TS. In the audio file, there's no sub-files. I've tried copying both of the files but it doesn't work. And I've tried ripping it by using iSkysoft DVD Ripper, but when it's finished, the audio's missing.
How can I solve this matter? I would really appreciate the help.

You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:

which is free, but you must also have the Apple mpeg2 plugin :

which is a mere $20.
Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:

which costs $25.
For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.

I have searched through the forums, read many other related posts related to this subject, and studied the manuals and tutorials, however I have not been able to figure out how to do the basic DVD burning. I apologize if this seems to be a simple task to many of you.
I would like to copy You Tube videos to DVD. These are instructional videos, such as how to make sushi, and the like. I'd like to record various episodes on disks and categorize the contents, so I would have them readily available.
I would also like to copy my bookmark menu to DVD.
Basically, I just want to know how to burn DVD disks for various purposes.
I have a iMac, Snow Leopard OS, and have DVD-R.

I'm trying to connect my new mobile which can only connect via Bluetooth but neither the PC or Mobile can find each other. I have the connectivity and visibiity turned on on the mobile but can't work out the PC. The word Bluetooth is written on the rear of my PC but there are no Bluetooth settings menu's that I can find under then control panel.

How to copy DVD

After searching the forum, I can't get a clear sense of how to copy a dvd I made with iMovie and iDVD on my wife's MacBook. I made a two DVD's on her computer a couple of years ago before we got a Mac desktop. I would like to rip/copy/transfer (?) those dvd's onto the desktop and synch them to my iPod also. Our desktop is OS X 10.5.8.
Won't you please help the lost and deficient?

Can anyone please tell me how to copy a home made movie from DVD to my hard drive? I'm trying to add it to Apple tv, and it's in a TS format and I can do nothing with it. I mean, when I made it, I made a beginning, which my titles are sitting on. I bought it so I assume I own it in the same way as if I bought a dvd from a store, so I would like to sit down and watch my programs and or films I buy on itunes on my normal tv set rather than in my office or on a small screen. If I am unable to do this then there seems little point in decluttering my life from DVD boxes etc to buying online content.

Just like a DVD you buy from a store you limited rights to watch the content you have purchased. For iTunes protected content you are allowed to view and copy it between your autorised devices, not transcribe it to a different format. You can transfer the file between your devices over a computer network, with a memory stick, external drive or data DVD, but copying it to standard DVD Video format is not permitted.

Is this a mini DVD-R, burned directly in a camcorder? If it is, Do Not Attempt To Put It In Your Macbook Pro's Optical Drive!!!.
Mini disks cannot be read by your Superdrive, and they will get stuck in it, perhaps damaging it in the process. Apple will not cover any such damage.
Disk Utility will image, then produce as many copies as you like. But, doing so with a mini disk will require that you use an external, tray-loading drive capable of handling the mini disk. Of course, you can use your Superdrive as long as the disk is full-sized. With the disk mounted, select it in Disk Utility and click the "New Image" icon in the Toolbar. You need to create a "DVD/CD Master" image.
