How to copy and modify the existing page layout

I have page layout which has 3 webpart zones. i need to modify and save as new page lauyout with 5 webpart zones. can someone guide me the steps.

Open your site in sharepoint designer
-Open page layouts gallery
-Copy your page layout and past it there only, it will create new copy like yourPageLayout Copy.
-edit this page layout and new webpart zones by copying already present webpart zone (change their id's) or add from ribbon.
-save and publish it.

I want to publish a book with Blurb. They don't have Russian fonts, so I have to type the text in Russian in Notes in my iPad, send it to my e-mail box, and then open the e-mail box in Mac, and copy and paste the text into the book template of Blurbs. I don't know how to make a Russian keyboard in Mac to be able to type quickly. I asked about it in the Apple store, and they showed me how to find a Russian keyboard in the net, but it takes much time to type using a screen keyboard, and the texts also cannot be copied and pasted, when they are in Russian. They are erased when I press 'command+C", and all I have is a single letter 'c' instead. No problems with texts in English. Maybe Russian is not supported for copying and pasting?:(

How to copy and paste a multi-page table of contents?

Hi everyone.
I have a large document with a Table Of Contents extending over two pages. I'd like to copy the entire TOC then paste it into a new Pages document.
I have been able to copy the TOC however when I try to paste it into a new blank Word Processing pages document the following Error message appears: "The table of contents is empty because none of the paragraph styles selected in the Document Inspector are used in the document."
I can paste it into a blank Page Layout pages document however it pastes it into a text box with only one page of the TOC in it. Even if the new Page Layout document has two pages and I extend the text box over the two pages only one page of the TOC is copied into the new Page Layout document. At the moment the only work-around I can do is to take a screen shot of each individual page of the TOC and paste them individually into a new pages document. I have tried exporting the entire original document to a plain text file however all the formating is lost (obviously). I have also tried exporting the entire original document to a Word document (.doc) however it won't let me copy the multi-page TOC and paste it into a new Word document.
Is there any way to successfully copy a multi-page table of contents to a new Pages document?

How does one export individual pages from a Pages document?
I've also tried to copy the TOC section from the document thumbnail however I can't figure out how to select multiple pages in the document thumbnails. It only allows me to select one at a time. Furthermore, when I do select a single page from the thumbnail section and attempt to drag and drop it into the the thumbnail section of the second document it picks up the whole document and wont allow me to move it from the thumbnail section of the original document.
Shift click to select multiple pages, and I did say Copy and Paste, not drag and drop.

Hi Le,
What exactly do you want to modify. The Desktop inner page consists of your detailed navigation and the <b>Content Area</b> iview. The content area iview renders all the iviews, pages and whatever you add to your roles.
So do you want to change the layout of this section or something else?

I am making testing forms and each question has the same multiple choice answer selection. I have been having to type each one of them individually instead of being able to duplicate it for each question. How can I do what in Word would just be a "copy and paste" function?

The only thing I can think of is that you could "capture" the user trying to paste into a cell/row in your table (maybe in the onFocus or onClick events), then grab the data, parse it out (but looking for some character) and then have your code distribute the data across the rows. However, I personally think that would be a lot of overkill and prone to other issues and errors.

Copy and Modify the BPEL Process

Does anyone know a good way of copying a BPEL process and modifying it? For example, copy the BPEL_ProcessA and rename it to BPEL_ProcessB and then customizing the BPEL_ProcessB.

Easiest way to copy:
1. make new BPEL project with the desired name
2. close JDeveloper
3. delete all files from the new directory
4. copy source files to new directory (without <output.dir> and <CVS.dir>)
5. Search & Replace all files for <Process_A> and replace with <Process_B>
This includes: .BPEL, .XML (especially with Usertask), .XSL (has references to proces_a)6. Rename all files that have <Process_A> in them:
a. when using transforms: rename the xsl
b. when using usertask: rename the taskConfig<ProcessA>.xml, taskConfig<ProcessA>WFFields.xml
Changing the internal references to <ProcessA> can be done with a tool like Search & Replace.

Modifying the existing page

Hello all,
My Apex version is 3.2.1
I have an application with some 14 pages in it, where page 3 and 4 are based on a particular table. But, later we dropped that table and moved one of the column from that tableA to tableB.
Now, I have deleted the page 2 and page 4 from my application. And added the new item to page 6 where page 5 and page 6 belongs to the tableB.
Did I do anything wrong here? Is this the correct way to do?

Unfortunately there are too many variables for anyone on this list to say that you did or did not do this correctly. The thing to look out for here is that your page items (assuming you have form pages) reference valid column names in your replacement table. Check and double check your data to make sure everything is getting inserted/updated correctly. If you see what you expect then you should be good to go.

I was working with SharePoint 2010 in one of my Virtual machines.Now that the lease for my Virtual Machine is going to expire, I want to shift the entire contents of the project to another machine (local) with SharePoint 2010. Also, I want the pages
in the other machine to be editable.
How can I copy the solution files to the other machine? And I want the exact path where the files are located, so that I can shift them to the other machine.

...that's not a good approach.
Deploying customisations can be as simple as files being copied onto the file system. Most of the time however there is a lot more happening behind the scenes and simply copying the files won't work.
Also that is assuming that you mean solutions rather than the pages themselves (or the contents of document libraries) in which case you want to copy databases, not just files.
SharePoint isn't a simple thing to move, you may need to look at this a bit harder.

You can do as the followings:
Create a blank form with InfoPath Designer 2010,
Add a Rich Text Box control and Submit button in the blank form
Publish the form to your SharePoint site
Open the form library and create a document
Copy the table with text from word file
Paste the table in the Rich Text Box area, the paste option is Keep Source Formatting

Hello, I plan on setting this new build up with SATA RAID 0. I tried to follow the ReadMe file in the RAID drivers download but think I am not fully understanding. The ReadMe says to copy all files to the media...it said floppy but I am going to use a flash drive. I did so but there were two folders, X64 and X86. Do I open those two folders and copy all the contents or do I just copy the two folders directly to the drive?

don't update the BIOS when everythink is working...

copy them as is.. directly with sub-folders included.

I can not figure out how to copy and paste, the instructions said to open the user.js file in my profile directory but there is no such file. How can I fix this?

I searched the site for a fix but the instructions weren't very clear about inserting files and lines. I could not find the user.js file and i was not sure how to create a file, but i could create a folder. Could I use a microsoft word file or what?

i am unable to export the clients designed invoices and all designed ones to XML as well as i am not able to find where these templated are getting stored
i did like this after finishing the invoice design ->went to file -> export to XML.
when i click this its not asking destination and its gone
if i want to import the designed templates again what the procedure
