  • How to copy a query

    Hi everyone,
Can any one please tell me how to copy a query?
    just explain me the steps....pls
    Thanks in advance,
    Soumya

    Hi,
If you want to copy the query on same InfoProvider, you can use the 'Save As' option.
If you want to copy the query from one InfoProvider to other, you can use the transaction RSZC. But InfoProvider structure must be same before using the RSZC option.
If your InfoProvider structures are not same, then you can use a function module to copy the query.
There is one function module available to copy the queries from one target to other. We can achieve the copy even if the Source and Target InfoProviders are different.
    Here are the steps..
Step 1. Bypass the standard functionality.
Use transaction SE37 and enter the function module name RSZ_I_COPY_QRY_TO_CUBE.
Set a breakpoint after the line Perform check infocube to manipulate the SAP BW original compliancy check. Search for and set the breakpoint at IF l_subrc 0 OR l_is_compliant = rs_c_false .
Step 2. At the next stop in coding, enter the InfoProvider name in the occurring dialog in your defined breakpoint. In debug mode, set the return parameter l_is_compliant to X by typing the parameter name l_is_compliant in the field name input box
    Step 3. Copy the query.
The system next asks you what query to copy The system believes that the target InfoProvider is compliant, but displays the objects that could not be found and copied Step 4. Add the missing elements.
You can add the missing characteristics manually after copying the query.

  • How to unlock BEX query

    Hello,
I am trying to modifiy a BEX query but whenever I open and load the query, I am prompted with a lock object error and am unable to add or remove any objects to that BEX query. Anyone know how to fix my problem?
    Thanks

Hello, due to a WIFI connection shutdown, I am suffering the same issue with a Query locked under my user name.
I am mostly using/connectig BW through the BEX Web Portal (not BPC / BW through the SAP GUI).
I have tried SM12 transaction in BW but for security reasons I am not authorised by my company to use that transaction.
Is there any walkaround to delete the lock through Query Designer ?
    Thanks

  • Copy BEx Query from one SAP BI system to another SAP BI system?

Experts please help me to Copy a BEx Query from one SAP BI system to another SAP BI system?
    Thanks in Advance.......

    HI,
    Just assume like below,
you are creating your query in Development server(BI),
Before creating query, you go to SE09(t code), here you create a workbench request by clicking the create button.
Give some description here to be identified by you in future.
Now a requested will be generated(ex: DW5K50098) with prefix of your server name.
now you go to query designer, you create query, when you save the query, it will ask you request, now you click button 'own request'. you choose request(create by you in SE09).
it will be saved under this request, now you will have one more request under your request in SE09
    parent request(DW5K50098) and child request(DW5K50099).
First you click child request and relese(click lorry button in se09),second you click parent request and lorry button.
next steps will be related to your organization, you can ask your team leader, he will be taking care of it.
    Regards,
    Ranganath.

  • How to copy BEx Workbooks from one user's favourites to another user's

Is there a way to copy BEx Workbooks (Excel Analyzer) from one user's 'Favourites' to another user's Favourites?
A user is away on vacation and we need to get at a couple of workbooks that are stored only in that user's Favourites. We do not have access to that user's user id and password.
    We’re on BW version 3.5.

    Thanks Ravi.
We are aware that if a workbook is assigned to a Role then other users can access the workbook.
In order to assign the workbook to a Role, we need to be able to see it in the first place.
The workbook is currently saved only in a specific user's Favourites, and that user is away on vacation. We can not assign it to a Role unless we sign on as that user. We do not have the user's logonid and password.
So we are still interested in finding out how to copy from that user's Favourites, perhaps via a program or via the Administrator Workbench.

  • How to copy existing query report into new query report in SQ00

    Hi Experts,
    Hi Experts,
I want to add fields "company code" "'region" to existing  query report AQZZ/SAPQUERY/FKF1============
(list of vendor address) for this i done as following:
1.In SQ01  go to "EDIT->other user group" and i selected user group as /SAPQUERY/FK
2.I typed F1 in query field and click change button
3.I clicked next screen button and entered into "change query f1: select fields screen".here i clicked "basic list" button and searched company code checkbox and saved it as result company code is appearing in the standard report"AQZZ/SAPQUERY/FKF1============"
but unfortunately there is no region field(LFA1-REGIO) for this i think i should copy the existing  query report  into new query report(Ex:Z_LIST_OF_VEND) which should be 14 characters.please tell me briefly how to do this because this is first time i am using SQ00.

    Hi Experts ,

  • How to copy Bex queires from another multi provider

    Hi Experts,
I developed one new multi provider in dev box, i need to developed some queries on this multi provider but same queries having another multi provider.
finally i need copy some exesting queries to another new multoprovider with different technical name? how to do that?
    Many thanks
    David

    Hi David,
RSZC allows to copy queries from one cube/mutlirprovider to another cube/mutliprovider having same structure..
if not you use the below procedure to copy between multiproviders of differnt structures.
    Function Module Name : -       RSZ_I_COPY_QRY_TO_CUBE
    Step :- 1
Open the Function Module in se37.
    Step :- 2
Set break point in the line below.
      IF l_subrc <> 0 OR l_is_compliant = rs_c_false.
Itu2019s the check just below Infocube compliance check.
    Step :- 3
         Run the FM.
    Step :- 4
Give the inputs for source infocube and target infocube.
    Step :- 5
It takes you to the breakpoint set in the FM.
Change the value of l_is_compliant to u2018Xu2019 in the Variable screen.
    Hit F8.
    Step :- 6
The system takes you to the select component screen.
         Select the query and transfer.
    Step :- 7
It now leads to Rename component screen. Rename the query as per naming convention.
         Hit Enter.
    Step :- 8
You see a lot of error messages because of the incompatibility of the cubes. Just scroll down in the log to end. Your query copy message should be in green. If it is green that shows the query was copied
Once the query is copied , you need to open the query on the target multiprovider and then you need to save in eitther cases..whether using RSZC of same source/target structures or using the above procedure for non simialar strcutures.

  • How to integerate BEx query with Portal (Java)

    Hi folks,
I installed SAP Netweaver 2004s Sneak Preview ABAP+JAVA , Stack 9 for Linux with VMWare test drive. I have configured and enabled BW/BI  in Netweaver. I have also configured SLD and its Status is "running" in J2EE engine.
I designed one simple BI application through Tcode: RSA1, and then created Query for data analysis thruogh Query Designer. How can I establish the link between AS ABAP with AS JAVA to publish the query on portal. I want to use BEx Report designer and Web Application Designer, but I can't execute the result on the portal from these designer tools.
Do I need to create RFC destination on both sides ABAP and JAVA, but how , anyone can give an example for the required procudure.
    thanks.

    Hi,
Thanks all of you, Venkatramani Hariharan  , with the help of your given link I am able to to apply the part of the configuration from the document as described by the writer.
But on Step No. 6 : Step 6: Import BW Certificate to the Portal
    Under Step 6:
I succeeded to complete first 6 steps but from step 7 , author guided me to continue in Visual Administrator and choose <SID>/Server<#>/Services/Security Provider
    - Under Component, choose Ticket.
    - Choose the Authentication tab page.
    - Change the options for com.sap.security.core.server.jaas.EvaluateTicketLoginModule and enter the following values:
    like
    trustedsys<Number>=<BW_SID>, <BW_CLIENT> (for example, BWP, 000)
    u2022
    trustediss<Number>=<ISSUER_DISTINGUISHED_NAME> (z. B. CN= BWP, OU=SAP Web AS, O=SAP Trust Community, C=DE)
    u2022
    trusteddn<Number>=<SUBJECT_DISTINGUISHED_NAME> (z. B. CN= BWP, OU=SAP Web AS, O=SAP Trust Community, C=DE)
But in the window all the modification button(s) are disbale like "Modify", "Remove", "Add New".
So, Is there any way to make those enable to apply the changes. Please help me in this context.
    thanks
