How to copy part of a blueprint to a new project

Dear all,
we are using projects in the solution manager for testing. I want to copy a part of a blueprint structure to an existing project,
but within solar01 I can only select scenarios from the business process repository (bpr) and not from my project.
Can you please tell me how to do this?

AppleMan Thanks very much for the information, however I could't make it work. I followed your instructions to the letter, in fact I tried every which-way. I created a dedicated file into which I copied and pasted the project from "package contents" but it was still greyed out when I went to retrieve it. I also found that the file size was reduced to only a few Kb. Any further step-by-step instructions would be appreciated as I am obviously doing something wrong. Babowa It appears that in imovie everything has to be "finalised" before it can be used or shared elsewhere in the same way as a disk has to be to be played elsewhere. Funnily enough an MOV file I converted to Mp4 was not greyed out and I was able to import it.... an exercise I am not keen on because of resolution loss during conversion

How to copy part of non commercial dvd and use it in imovie?

I want to use some video from my school that are burned in a dvd (with a PC) and put them on a project that I made with imovie. I have the files audio_TS and the video_TS but I don't know how to use them. I want to import them (or the movie) in imovie but it doesn't work. Somebody have an idea?

and for free the tool Streamclip
in Streamclip you can select the parts you want to "copy"...

Is there a way to copy some or all of the workof one projedt ( clips, transitions and effects) into another project. I would especially like to use the same rolling credits in all my video's. I've tried copy/paste and Get Media from a file but I get "file format not supported" when I try to import a .prel (project)

There is a also a Clipboard "extender," ClipMate, that will allow one to Copy/Paste from one Project to another. I have not used it, but many have and few have any issues.
The Export to DV-AVI method is the main one. The only thing to think about is that you will want either a perfectly tight edit, before the Export, or a very loose edit (I'd go so far as to add 02 sec. of Black Video between un-Trimmed Clips), as you will not want to, say replace a Transition, as you would have to Trim even more of your Clips to create the necessary Handles.

Copy part of a symbol into a new page

Hello all-
I'm trying to break down a rather large symbol. If I highlight the second half of the symbol and copy it into a new symbol on a new page, it becomes all garbled to the point it is impossible to use it.
I tried using Duplicate but don't know what it did other than it looked like it copied all the elements into the existing symbol?
So,
1. What does duplicate do and when would it be better than copy/paste?
2. How can I copy a piece of an existing symbol to create a new symbol?
BTW - The idea of copying the existing symbol and then removing the part I don't want, although sounds like the best way to do it, will not work as whenever I copy the symbol, or even try to load it into a new page, it becomes garbled as before (This is another discussion, "symbol corrupting on save?").

Make a comp of that segment and Export it to a New Track, or Export it to Selected track (your "master" track).

I have several playlists in my Itunes library on my PC. How can I take just one playlist and copy it over to a new iPad?

Just select that one playlist and - only that one playlist - to sync . You can select the content that you want to sync to the iPad in each tab of the iTunes window in the right - while the iPad is connected to your PC and with iTunes running.
Just select your iPad on the left side under devices, click on the music tab, click on the playlist that you want to sync - go into every other tab and choose the content that you want - make sure the headings have been selected as well - i.e. Sync Music, Sync Apps, and so on. After you have made all of your selections, click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.

I used my friend's itunes sometime ago, then i have all his music on my ipod. now i want to use my itunes, but the problem is, if i sync my ipod using my itunes, then all the previous songs that exist on my ipod that i got from my friend's itunes will be disappearing. is there any way to copy music from ipod to itunes?

See, that's why they made iPods to really only sync in one direction - from PC to iPod.
The artists want you to buy your own copy of those songs. You're not supposed to share with your friends!

How do I copy multiple clips and sequences into a new project

Hi Folks,
I've spent a while on the net trying to find an answer to my problem - so far without success. I have successful finished a documentary project (on climbing Mt Kilimanjaro) and now I want to lift the most dramatic sequence (the summit) so I can advertize the thing on my website and elsewhere. I have two audio tracks and two video tracks with multiple still photos in one of the video tracks.
There must be a way to do this but I can't find it.
Any ideas - and if this is a simplistic question I apologize - I've been learning as I go on this project.

Okay everyone - thanks for your help - new problem.
I successfully "built" my 4 minutes clip from the original project. But I couldn't find a way to delet the material past rthe point at which I wanted it to end. So I went in and manually deleted everything. Inow have a 4 minute clip but when I try and convert it to a Youtube friendly file format it tells me the clip is 26 minutes long. I checked it out and it just kepy playing black with no sound. I dug around alittle and founf a sort of mini-compressed timelione of all that material and deleted it. tried again. It now stops playing after 4 minutes but once again tells me the clip is 26 minutes long when I try and convert the file. Are there pixies living among the pixels?

Cannot figure out how to copy saved library from external drive to new pc

Now, I am unable to get the data back on to my reformatted PC with the playlists, etc., intact. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Press *and hold* the shift key while starting itunes. When prompted, choose to open an existing library.
Browse to the ITL file you backed up on the exHD.
The ITL database file is what holds all the metadata you're missing.

Time Machine Files - How To Copy

Short story: I am trying to transfer my Time Machine files from one external hard drive to another. I followed the instructions at the following Apple link:

This did not work. When I started up Time Machine on the new drive, Time Machine indicated that the old backups were there, but when I tried to access them, Time Machine could not find them.

Long Story: I got a new external 2 TB external to replace my 1.5 TB. I wanted to use the new one for Time Machine and iTunes. I stupidly did not partition it. This is a problem since Time Machine will fill up a hard drive. I tried using Disk Utility to partition after the fact, but I kept getting an error. So I followed the instructions in the Apple link and copied "Backups.backupdb" back to my old drive, reformatted and repartitioned my new drive, then copied "Backups.backupdb" back. Now Time Machine cannot find my old backups, although they appear to exist in the time line. When I look at "Backups.backupdb" there are a bunch of alias that do not link to anything.
So I assume there must be some hidden files.
Have I messed up my year of Time Machine backups and need to start over?

I know it's tempting to want to use all the vast space on a large drive your not using, the problem is when your hardware fails, it takes both backup partitions with it when it goes.
Have multiple copies of your personal data on separate hardware, in separate locations, using easily accessible means and maintain two copies of your personal data off the machine at all times.
Your at that stage where you need more options than TimeMachine provides, you might want to consider cloning.
With cloning you could have just cloned the entire drive to another one no sweat, also you can access the files directly from any computer, Mac, Windows or Linux machine. Plus you can boot from cloned drives and do other things, like data recovery etc.

How to copy recorded live stream to new drive

I was wondering if anyone out there knows how to copy a recorded live stream to a new drive on the server? I can copy the file within the virtual app directory but not to another drive.
The only solution i found was to edit the application.xml:

But unfortunately i need to rename the file once its recorded, and i'm having a hard time accessing that drive/directory where the file is located.

What I understood from your query I am providing you a solution:
1. You can use the below to copy recorded live stream to new drive/directory in Application.xml

2. By default, a script can access files and directories only within the application directory of the hosting application. A server administrator can grant access to additional directories by specifying virtual directory mappings for File object paths. This is done in the FileObject tag in the Application.xml file, as shown in the following example:

3. Create one application folder suppose test and then create main.asc file inside that which will have the below code

This server side application rename files but since the folder which we had to access was outside application directory of the hosting application we had to map it using step 2.
