How to correct an acquisition posting in an parallel ledger

Hello,
I have the following situation:
We are using New GL concept and have setup one parallel ledger (16)
We have setup two depreciation areas, one pointing to the 0L, the other one to parallel ledger
During vendor posting of an asset the capitalisation is done in both ledgers posting to the capex balance sheet account (standard behavior). For reasons the customer wants to redraw the capitalisation but only in the parallel ledger, he wants to post it as costs ( P&L account)instead of the balance sheet account.
Whats the best approach here?

Hi You Need to define following settings:
Assign Depreciation Area to your Parallel Ledger i.e. Non Leading Ledger
SPRO>IMGFinancial Accounting (New)> Asset Accounting> Valuation>Depreciation Areas>Define Depreciation Areas
The GL Column will be 3 and Target Grp will be 16 in your case
Now Create a new Transaction Type which will be copy of your 101 and restrict this Transaction type for your Depreciation Area whihc is specific to your non leading ledger.
Now post ABSO and ASKBN

I create a group ledger only with the leading ledger and assigned it to the depreciation area but the acquisition is still being posted in all non-leading ledger.

Yes, I understood your question.
Let me explain:
1) First make a normal posting with a normal transaction type. You can use any of this transaction codes for example ABZON.
All values posted into the leading ledger 0L has to be posted in all other ledger groups.
Example:
Real Posting to G/L Ledger
Area..01..X..1..0L
Area..15..X..3..TL
Area..16.....6..TL
2) The correction posting has to be done with a TTY restricted on non leading ledger(s). The idea behind: Because of the fact that posting to the leading ledger, results in posting to all ledgers you have to make a second posting to clear all other ledgers.
- Please copy the transaction type from the first posting
- Limit this transaction type to post to all ledgers expect 01 and parallel areas.
- Set the sign ANSHKZ from S to H

How to get ABIF to post only to leading ledger ???

I have set up the investment support measure (valuation area 51) and don't know how to restrict it only to one ledger (leading one).
As it stands today ABIF is going to leading and non leading (local gaap).
I have defined the depreciation area 51 to post only to leading ledger for the depreciation run and it is posting only in that ledger.
However transaction ABIF post to both ledgers and so my question is what do I need to do to have ABIF post only to the leading ledger rather than posting to both???

Restricting Area 51 to post it to leading ledger does not mean that it will not flow into non-leading ledger. All the transactions except depreciation postings flows from leading to non-leading. This is std. SAP. You might want to post a ledger specific entry to your non-leading ledger and reclass the amount which is posting from Area 51 (flowing from leading to non-leading) to a different GL account so that it does not show up in your balance sheet or whatever reporting you are using.

If you are running Mac OS X 10.7.3 then you have Lion installed, not Snow Leopard. It's probably not important to this discussion, but something you should be aware of.
What application are you printing the PDF files from? Have you tried opening the PDF file using the Preview application that can be found in the Applications folder? Does the issue still occur? Have you tried other PDF files from a different source?
Another poster in the following discussion thread reported that this method resolved their black blank PDF issue when viewing (and presumably printing) PDF files from Safari.

There's a solution if you want to see the PDF inside Safari's window :
Go to the folder : Your Hard Drive / Library / Internet Plug-ins.
If you see a file with PDF in its name drag it to the trash.
Quit and restart Safari to test with a PDF.
If it works you can empty the trash.

I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. We have two Airprint capable printers thagt my wife uses with her Samsung Galaxy s4 but both printers are NOT listed on my iPhone 4s. any ideas why and how to correct??

There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage. There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.

when checked at AS83 no values found under taken over value for the group asset

As I said, go to AS82 and upload the Income tax values for this group asset....
Unless you do that, system wont allow you to proceed.. May be you can enter a nominal value if it is important to sell the asset now and later on correct it

Am creating a sub asset 001 for my_asset_1, via 'BAPI_FIXEDASSET_CREATE1'. Fine.
Then, am trying to post the Asset transfer for my_asset/001 by using a BAPI of 'AMDP_BAPI_CALL_ON_TRANSACTION'.
But, am getting the Error(via ABUMN am NOT geetting any ERROR)- <i><b>Posting with trans.type Z30 not possible (No acquisition posted)</b></i>

FSCM 9.0: COBOL program does not post a Journal into Ledger correctly

Hello. I am working on FSCM 9.0 General Ledger module. To FSCM 9.0, we need to compile COBOL by ourself.
I downlaod and install "MS Visual Studio 2005 professional" and "Micro Focus Net Express 5.0". Then compile COBOL successfully. The executable files are copied to PS_HOME\CBLBINU.
Editing Journal is working correctly as follows:
General Ledger > Journal > Creare/Update Journal -> Add -> Line -> Edit Journal ->Process, Total amount comes up correctly and Journal status becomes "V". All debit accounts and Credit accounts are posted into Database PS_JRNL_LN table correctly.
But posting Journal is not working correctly as follows:
In Journal Line page, after select Post Journal -> Process, Journal status becomes "P". But when check Database table PS_Ledger using select * from PS_LEDGER, only Debit accounts of a journal are posted into PS_LEDGER table, all Credit accounts of a journal are not posted into PS_LEDGER.
Because posting a journal into PS_LEDGER table only debit accounts and no credit accounts, all general reports, such as Trial balance, cannot be generated.
Thus, my questions are:
First, does COBOL program GLPPPOST.exe have a problem ? If yes, how to solve it ?
Second, do I set up something incorrectly in General Ledger module and cause only Debit accounts of a journal are posted into PS_LEDGER table and not Credit accounts ?

How to correct bad PDF display of Excel 2007 graph-Adobe Pro X?

Just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro X; previously had Adobe Pro 8, which worked fine. Have Excel 2007 files with an Excel graph and a JPG image on the spreadsheet tab. Both the graph and the JPG are too big, are displaced, and hide spreadsheet data, when the Excel file is Saved As a PDF using Adobe Pro dialog or Excel dialog, or the Excel Plug-In to Create PDF. For some strange reason, printing to PDF works, although that is limiting. All of the settings are the same for the Adobe Printer as Adobe Pro settings. Changing them or going to default did not help. Just did the latest update; that did not help.
The graph and JPG are too large for the PDF page. Paper printing from Excel still works fine. Producing a PDF on another machine with Pro 8 still works fine. Could not find this problem discussed anywhere. Using XP, fully patched. This should not be a complicated process, nor a complex spreadsheet. What is going on?

Regardless of the method and Adobe product used to create the PDF, including the Excel tool button, the single common factor whether the PDF correctly displays a JPG or graph in the Excel file that is being done at anything other than 100% size is whether the Adobe Printer or a Physical Printer is selected as the default printer in the Windows Printers and Faxes-Settings. This is true even though the printer is not being used. I have created the same PDF using every method/product and the results are always the same, and only properly display when either the setting is 100% size or the system printer is selected as Adobe Printer. This is true only after installing Adobe X (8 was previously installed, and worked as expected).

You say the settings for the printer work fine, but do not for PDF Maker (I am assuming this is what you meant). PDF Maker no longer uses the printer and the settings are independent. Check the settings for PDF Maker under the create PDF menu.

Debug the script and check where exactly those are getting populated. Definately you will get it. Check the conversion parts means character to numeric conversion.
If your version is 4.7E then select unicode check box in the reports attributes. It will display the error message so that we can solve very easily.Hope this helps you, reply for queries, Shall post you the updates.

How to correct or report location errors introduced with iOS 4 vs. iOS 3.x?

When I use location services (via any application) on my iPod touch (1st gen - iOS 3.1), including Find-my-iPhone, my touch's location is precisely located. I have even reported both my wireless routers to Skyhook to assure this accuracy at home.
My iPad, however (via any application, including Find-my-iPhone), has a location error of about 250 yards to the south south east. All of my neighbors with new WiFi-only iPods and iPads think location services is crappy, because it doesn't locate them in their home. Those with 3G support don't generally have the problem.
I've tried to find out where I can report the precise coordinates of my personal hardware (as I did for Skyhook) so Wi-Fi location is improved AND notify the proper organization that an entire swath of East Texas has been scanned with a large location bias, turning data into garbage. Anybody know who to talk to?

Basically, Apple need to inform people how to correct their router info that is contained in their faulty "Locations Service Database" - now, in theory, Apple could collect this information from a user by means of a simple web based form on their support site that asked for the MAC address of the router and either latitude/longitude info or even the users' post code (Zip code). However, in practice this might be harder to do owing to security concerns...
I have had problems with the WiFi provided location service on BOTH my iPad and iMac for at least 2 weeks now. It shows me as being in central London when I am in fact in Central Scotland - very annoying!

I still have you in my Buddy list.
Whereas you were showing just plain "Norma" you are now showing "Norma Howe" in Capital Letters.
The only way I know to achieve that at my end is to View any Display Name that was set up or Add those "First Name, Last Name" Details to my address Book and list your Screen Name against them.
IF the AIM Settings Display Name items does not List NORMA HOWE and in fact lists something else the only thing I can think of is another App allows the Display name to be set from there and this is overriding the AIM Setting info.
I fired up an old version of AIM for Mac (version 4.7 from 2005) on my G4 computer running Leopard.
This Identifies Buddies that have entered Display Names (puts them in the Quotes as in "NORMA HOWE")
In the Preferences of this version of AIM for Mac it has a Sign On tab.
This has a box to enter how you show up (i.e. the Display Name) This version hints at adding Capitalisation and Spaces to your Screen Name.
Actually when I tried to change it to anything this version refused to let me.
So I changed my regular Name to "Ralph Johns r"
This however does not change the AIM settings page
