How to correct distorted raw image?

The image i took was one of my desktop accessories from about one ft. away  and at 24mm wide angle.  in the image"s  four corners is the black edges of the lens.(raw one)  Also the front edge of the desk is curved inwards and i have some bowing of the desktop accessories.  how can this be corrected? I am sending two images one jpeg  and the other the raw image. The  second one is the RAW one.thanks!!  what else can be corrected in the raw image.

thank you. I used this filter ie the distortion slider  and then the edge slider  and this straighted out the image  and the black vignetting of the lens on all 4 corners of raw image.  Have a good day!!

The RX100M3 is supported only by version 8.5.  It sounds like you need a newer version.

  • How do I convert raw images with side car to Dng and

How do I convert raw images with side car to Dng and preserve the sidecar info in the DNG?
I have tons of raws + xmp sidecars that i want to convert to dng, because the raws are from different camera brands and i want to get everything simplified. so that i do not have to worry if I will be able to access the raws in the future, if I decide I want to rework some of the files.
    T.I.A.

If the images are already in your catalog you can select them then choose Convert Photos to DNG from the Library menu. You'll be given the option of deleting the original raw files. Either way, Lr will only display the newly created DNG files.
The alternative, which is better suited to images not already in the catalog is to use the Adobe DNG Converter

  • How do I open RAW images from T1-XMG CR2?  Adobe DNG converter will not recognize these files.   HELP?

How do I open RAW images with T1-XMG CR2? I have adobe DNG converter but it will not recognize these images.  I have had no problem with converting other images.  and ACR will not recognize them either.  Help!@

The screenshot did come through once I added the period between dropbox and com, making URL:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/o7q829t2n3uuuqg/screenshot%202014-07-01%2012.36.28.png
The screenshot shows the first raw file is named T1-XMG_3306.CR2 which probably corresponds to a normal raw filename of IMG_3306.CR2.  It is not clear where this name came from.  I guess it is possible that you’ve entered in a renaming template in LR’s Import panel that replaces the initial I or _ with T1-XM and so the files are renamed.
What I have asked for is not a screenshot of your filenames, but one of the CR2 files, itself, which you can upload to dropbox and post a link to.  You should use copy/paste to get the link into a message, rather than typing it in, if at all possible.
This is because it was my understanding that these oddly-named CR2 files don’t work, and I wanted to look more closely at them to see if they were recognizable as some other type of file.
Do you have a raw file named IMG_3306.CR2 that these files correspond to?

    Hi there
Unfortunately, CS4 does not support the Nikon D7000. You'll have to download the Adobe DNG converter (links below) to process RAW files from your camera.

  • How to open multiple RAW images in Elements 7

With Elements 5 I can open any number of RAW images and process each one separately, one at a time, applying corrections to each image individually in the RAW dialogue, clicking Open Image, repeat.  When done each image is in the work space, allowing me to work further, crop, fix, Save as JPEG, CLOSE, etc.
With Elements 7 the capability to process multiple RAW images in the workspace seems to have degraded.  I must process one RAW image at a time, or open many RAW images, Select All and have the correction(s) I apply to the first RAW image apply to all the RAW images.  The first alternative is very time consuming while the second alternative is not acceptable.
Any help appreciated in how to regain the function I had with Elements 5.

If I select more than one image in the
left pain, either individually or by
Select All, Elements 7 dutifully opens
the RAW images selected in the
    workspace.
The rub is that Elements 7 then applies
the RAW adjustments from the RAW image
    dialogue (e.g., Brightness, Contrast,
Clarity) for the first RAW image to all
    the RAW images
before placing them in the workspace for
    further editing.
Elements 5 provides a RAW image dialogue
for each RAW image individually, one at
a time, when I open them en masse.   As
near as I can tell, Elements 7 does not,
    forcing the user
to either open each RAW image
individually or presume that the RAW
adjustments made to one image should
apply to all the others before opening
them in the workspace for further
    editing.
This presumption will generally be a bad
presumption, forcing the user to the
    one-at-a-time option, which is very,
    very slow.
    Thank you again,

  • How to import only RAW images from folder with RAW & JPEGs?

My system is set up that I have both RAW & JPEGs in the same folder since I shoot JPEG+RAW. How can I import just the raw images without also sucking in the jpegs? There is no way to distinguish the difference in the Import box and also no way to easily separate the the two in the Import box. I've tried using the List View and separting them by File Size, but Aperture has a stupid bug here and it tells me that the JPEG file sizes are in the teens (like 17-18 megs) and they are still hard to separate from the RAW which are about the same size.
Why can't Aperture do this basic thing?

I'm not doing anything. What I wrote in my workflow example above is exactly what I'm doing. I've been trying some experiments to see if it was "A Better Finder Rename" that is causing the issue. So far, no go. I have taken just a couple of JPGs only and pointed Aperture's Import to the folder that contains them. Aperture is reading that there are only 2 jpegs (which is what there is) and their file size is right on the mark.
Ok. I just narrowed it down to something. The flaw is showing up after the RAW files are converted to DNGs. The JPEGs do not show up in the Import box when there are camera raw files like NEFs or CR2s and the corresponding JPEGs. That is Aperture's normal behaviour. But, and this is a big BUT, when the raw files are converted to DNGs and they are in the same folder as the corresponding JPEGs, that's when Aperture pulls its shenanigans. It has something to do with the JPEGs and DNGs having the same name. Even though the files have different extensions, Aperture is doing something to the file size of the JPEGs that make them seem that they are much larger files than they actually are.
I figured it out like this:
I had 2 CR2 files and the corresponding JPEGs in a folder. Pointing Aperture's Import to that folder, Aperture did what it is supposed to do; it saw only 2 raw files (doesn't matter that the G9 CR2 files are not supported yet). So, I renamed all the files using A Better Finder Rename and Aperture still only saw 2 raw files.
    So far so good.
Then, I converted just the 2 CR2 files to DNG and kept them in the same folder. Aperture saw 2 DNGs and 2 CR2 files. No jpegs were seen. Business as usual. Then I removed the CR2s and renamed the jpegs so they had the same names as the DNGs (except for of course different extensions) and that's when Aperture saw the jpegs as separate files and saw them with bogus file sizes.
So I tested that by altering the jpeg names so that they were different from their corresponding DNGs and Aperture went back to seeing the jpegs with the correct file sizes.
Therefore, Aperture is having some difficulty with two separate files, one JPEG and the other DNG, when they both have the same name (different extensions, of course).
Try it if you have a moment. Take one raw file and convert it to DNG and place it in a folder with its corresponding jpeg. Rename both to the same name and different extensions (.dng + .jpg) and see what happens when you try to get Aperture to import. Chance are Aperture will show bogus file sizes for the jpeg.
Let me know if that's clear.

  • How to retrieve original RAW image after cropping and opening RAW file?

    Hi
I have a Canon EOS 350D camera and now have PSE 9.  I have taken some RAW images & imported them into PSE 9 OK.  I know the original RAW image is retained after editing.  However, after cropping a RAW image in the Editor and then "Opening" and "Saving as" a PSD or JPEG, I then close the image in Editor and the cropped image appears in the Organiser.  That is as it should be, I think.  If I then wish to start again from scratch on the original RAW image, it seems to me that I have to manually delete the edited version and the .xmp file in Windows Explorer, and then double click the original RAW file in Windows Explorer, which then opens correctly in PSE 9 Editor.  Can this be done from PSE 9?

When you open the original camera raw image, go to the flyout menu
and choose Camera Raw Defaults, that resets everything but the crop, straighten,
    and rotatate settings.
To get rid of the crop and/or straighten settings, click and hold on the crop tool and choose Clear Crop.
To reset the Image rotation settings, you have manually rotate back using the image rotate buttons.

  • How do I download raw images into photoshop elements 11.

I am having difficulty downloading my raw images to photoshop elements 11.  Files are currently on a thumb drive, but I don't know how to download to elements.  I have the thumb drive plugged in --- not sure where to go from here. I have verified that I have the plug in - version 7.1.0.354.
    Any ideas?

You can either drag them in Organizer workspace or import the folder. Or you can also use Adobe Photo Downloader. There are many options listed here http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/getting-started/import-camera-or-card-reader.htm l

  • How do they guess raw Image resolutions in Photoshop?

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew how photshop guesses the resolution of raw images when you open them (most of the guesses have been right for me).
    Thanks,
    Sham

It doesn't guess, the resolution is set in Adobe Camera Raw.
It's in the workflow setting, click the text at the bottom of the ACR screen..

  • How do i preserve RAW images in iphoto

I store my Canon Raw images in iphoto.
But when I retrieve them for printing they have turned into jpegs.
How do I turn them back into RAW images so I can play with them?
Thanks in advance for any help.

You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor.
Next, in the iPhoto Preferences -> Advanced tab check the box at 'Use Raw when using External Editor'.
Now, when you send a pic to Photoshop it's the Raw that will go there.
*Note: When you've finished processing the Raw you must save it to the desktop and then import it to iPhoto again.*

  • Iphoto is distorting RAW images from canon on mac mini

    Good Afternoon,
Please could some one help with a problem that has started to occur with my RAW images which i have been trying to import from My Canon 700d
When importing to iphoto the pictures seem to distort and either as below go multi coloured or cut half the image off.
i have the latest firmware installed on my camera and have the canon utilities installed on my mac mini and have also tried transfering the images via cable and via a card reader.
the images appear fine on my mac book pro and on the camera
my memory card is also a class 10 30mbps

You could try to revert to the Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update, that came out in December.
For example, Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 5.07
or  to RAW support 6.01. It helped in a similar case:
Re: Digital Camera Raw Compatibility 6.02 - Nikon D800
Any of the earlier raw support versions 5.01 or later should work, since your camera has been supported since Mavericks.
Make a backup of your system and try to downgrade the RAW support to version 6.01
To downgrade the RAW Support to the last version from before the last update try this:
To reinstall the 'RAW Compatibility Update' it is necessary to uninstall the currently installed raw support. Otherwise the installer will rightfully say, that you already have the latest version installed.
If your tests are showing that the problem happens also in a different user account, try this:
The RAW support files are installed in the System Library in the folder "/System/Library/CoreServices" Folder:
To open this folder, use the Finder's "Go" menu. Click the smiling Finder icon in the Dock to bring the Finder forward.
Then type the keyboard shortcut ⇧⌘G  (for "Finder > Go > Go to folder")  and copy and paste "/System/Library/CoreServices" into the text field. Click the "Go" button.
In the Finder window that will open, delete both the files "RawCamera.bundle" and "RawCameraSupport.bundle". You will have to enter your Administrator password. (don't empty the Trash, so you can put the files back, if need be)
Download the current RAW support update from Apple's Support Site:
Digital Camera RAW Compatibility 6.01 http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1777?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
In the Downloads folder you will find the disk image with the installer. Double click it to open and run and the installer.
    Then restart your Mac.

    Try this:
RAW files suddenly show up as "not supported" (Aperture 3.5.1, OS X 10.10)
    From the post:
The solution was to remove and re-install the RAW support from Apple.
    The solution was to
remove "RawCamera.bundle" and "RawCameraSupport.bundle" from the /System/Library/Coreservices Folder
(In Terminal.app: "cd /System/Library/CoreServices/", "sudo rm -r *Raw*" (WARNING, THIS REMOVES THE FILES INSTANTLY!))
    Reboot the system
Re-Download the Raw Compatibility update 5.06 form Apple Support: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1757 and install it
Restart Aperture, reprocess the affected files and order the photo book.
