How to creat test variable for required year value.

Hi All,
I have one report in that report description i want to display year value(zvar_year).
Ex : report description like "&zvar_year& report" in runtime it can show "2011 report".
when i run this report from feb to dec i have to show current year value, when i run this report on jan it have to show previous year value
For this i used diff type of test variable as fallowed bellow
1) test variable using replacement path with info object :
variable type:test
char:zyear
process type:replacement path
replacement variable with:infoobject
replace with :key
(or)
iam trying bellow variable method but iam unable to see in variable list its charectaristic value variable
variable type:test
char:zyear
process type:replacement path
replacement variable with:variable "this is customer exit variable built on zyear unable to see in variable list
replace with :key
2)test variable using customer exit:
variable type:test
process type:customer exit
*Problem:* when i used &zvar_year& in the description its showing "&zvar_year&" only not "2011" value.
please let me know how to get the values into test variable

Hi,
For that you need to modify your customer exit as shown below
Data : zyear(4), zmonth(2).
zmonth = sy-datum+4(2).
if zmonth = '01'
zyear = sy-datum(4).
Zyear = Zyear -1.
elseif
zyear = sy-datum(4).
endif.
CLEAR L_S_RANGE.
L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'EQ'.
L_S_RANGE-LOW = zyear.
APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE

Hi Arnaud,
Go to Conditions-> Right click -> New Condition -> Edit -> NEw -> Selct the KEy figures from the dropdown( the KFs that are used in the rows/columns) -> Select Less than from the operator drop down (less than is for you case) -> Values, there is an option to create a variable -> Select the variable -> transfer. It will appear on the top.
Save & Execute, you will find it in your selction criteria.

Anybody know how to create presentation variable for a column (i.e., i need to create it in edit formula section itself). And then, I should use it in Narrative section to display that column value.      Description: computer corporation FA ID#: 4576

I think we can create this type of report using either Narrative or Static Text. But I am not sure whether it is possible or not? And also another thing is that sectioning is applied for SUID Tag # column. So, depending on the dashboard prompt if the SUID Tag # retrieves two or more values.
Then the first value for example 123456     and the values for the other columns related to this SUID Tag # value should display in the first page (i.e., page 1). And if the next value of the SUID Tag # for example say 678901 then the values should move to second page that is like this:
     SUID Tag # :678901               Year Mfg: 2008
     Description: Computer Manufacturing FA ID#: 4577
     Model Number: 4570 hESC: #eth
     Serial Number: 78946 Flags: G
Department: Hematology
User: Rehman

- Navigate to Setup + Financials + Calendars and open the GUI Accounting (Navigation for R12)
- Query the used calendard (used from jour Set of Books/ Ledger via the GUI
- Enter for each Period (= Period Type 13, 16, 18,...) one Record, have a look to the existing data, used the same logic.
In the GUI, defined the calendar for 2 Years

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the CTO processes in Oracle (if not check out the CTO user guide/manual), but kits work very similarly in that they have a bill of material structure and the components are optionally exploded to the sales order pad on saving/booking (depending on the setting of the profile option OM: Included Item Freeze Method).
Each line has its own workflow in OM - again, in the same way as a configuration does except that in the case of a kit all of the components are required.

Custom exit variable for fiscal year/period

Hi BI Experts
1) In one of the column i just want Budget data to be displayed for the entire year..i.e even if the user enters 005/2006 for fiscal year /period that column should display 001/2006 to 012/2006 Budget.
I have created a restricted KF for 0AMOUNT restricted by version(for Budget), valuetype (for Budget )
now how do I assign variable for Fiscal year/period...and the problem is posting period is not populated ...I mean there is no transformation for that...
Can you share your experience on that ...full points wil be awarded...

Creating test data for a problem

Hi,
I've been using this forum for a few months and it has been extremely useful. The problem is that I actually have no idea how to create test data for a specific problem. I've tried googling but to no avail. I have had other users create test data for some of my problems using a 'WITH' statement but it would be great if someone could explain the logic behind it and how to approach a specific problem where in the query I use multiple tables.
I know it's probably a stupid question and I'm relatively new to sql but it would help a lot if I understood the process.

Ex., DATA CST_ELMNT TYPE 0COSTELMNT.
DATA QTY TYPE 0QUANTITY.
To get the variables listed in the variable screen you need o create variables at aggregation/filter level for the required characteristics.

here is an example (put the like statement into the where field)
SELECT T0.CardCode, T0.CardName FROM OITM T0 WHERE T0.CardName Like '%%test%%'
The %% sign is a wildcard. If you need start with write 'test%%' and otherwise ends with '%%test'. For contains you need '%%test%%'. You also could combinate this statements like 'test%%abc%%'. This means starts with test and contains abc.

Variables for Fiscal year YTD, MTD and Quarter to data

Hello Gurus,
I have a fiscal year that runs from September to August. Is it possible to create a customer exit variable for Fiscal year YTD, fiscal year MTD and fiscal year QTD (quarter to date) based on sy-datum and not though user entry.
If yes, then how should I restrict my key figures so that the user don't have to enter any date and the varaibles derive the data based on sy-datum.

Hi Rishi,
I understand your query some extent,You can create Characteristic varaible with processing type Customer exit for fiscal year MTD and fiscal year QTD (quarter to date) based on sy-datum.
If you want to see fiscal year MTD and fiscal year QTD values in the column level, you have to create Text variable with replacememnt path.
Do as follows.
1) Create Characteristic varaiable with processing type Customer exit. Search for required code in the SDN.
2) Create the restricted keyfigure on required keyfigure. Restrict it on fiscal year MTD and fiscal year QTD with Char variable to enter year value.
3)After maintaining the restricted keyfigure (In the same step ) Create a text variable to get the value populated with the year specified with the processing type Replacement path with characteristic Fiscalyear.

You have to create characteristic variable processing by Customer Exit by considering 0CalDay as a Reference Characteristic
After creation of the above variable, you restrict your KF with the above created variable.
Now you can create a Text variable for the description of your KF. This way it works...........
