How to create a browse button in applet
Hi All,
Need another help...
I want create a Browse Button in java applet frame such that if I click on that button, I can pick a file from any folder of my machine.
Is there any way to do so? If yes, can you give me a small code as example.
Regards,
UjiHey Ujjal,
I know it's late and I don't know if you're still having this issue but maybe this can be helpful to the next person who has it. As was already said, I think you should probably consider doing this project as an application rather than an applet to avoid file access permission problems. That said, here's how I would do it (since no one has answered your question directly):
First this class should extend JFrame or some other window class
Next create a file object (it's static so it can be accessed by anonymous classes later):
private static File myFile = null;Then, inside the appropriate method (probably something like init() or main()), make the button and give it some functionality with an anonymous MouseListener:
JButton myBrowseButton = new JButton("Browse");
myBrowseButton.addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter(){
// an anonymous MouseAdapter
public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e){
...now in here you'll want the code to make a JFileChooser in a dialog window
// create a dialog window
final JDialog myChooserDialog = new JDialog();
myChooserDialog.setTitle("Browse");
// an anonymous JFileChooser
JFileChooser myFileChooser = new JFileChooser(PATH){
// an anonymous instantiator to set the text of the select button
{ setApproveButtonText("Select"); }
// what to do when the user clicks select
public void approveSelection(){
// you might want to make sure the selected file is valid before this step
myFile = getSelectedFile();
myChooserDialog.dispose();
// what to do if the user clicks cancel
public void cancelSelection(){ myChooserDialog.dispose(); }
...add the chooser to the dialog and make it visible
myChooserDialog.add(myFileChooser);
myChooserDialog.setVisible(true);
myChooserDialog.pack();
});Now add the button to the frame and make it visible
add(myBrowseButton);
setVisible(true);
pack();A few notes:
1) Replace the word PATH with the path to the directory you want to browse (e.g. "." the current working directory)
2) Make sure all of that code except for private static File myFile = null; goes into a method and isn't just floating around
3) If ANY of this was confusing then go D.A.F.T (Do A Fecking Tutorial!)
good luck!

appleButton.setName("Yes");
appleButton.setValue("Yes");

JDeveloper - How to create a "back button" using JSF
As simple as it sounds, I'm having trouble creating a basic back button on my JSF page. I'm using a af:goButton with the Onclick attribute stating history.back(). I've also tried history.go(-1) to no avail.... is there a trick to this?
Thanks,
RichardIf you are looking for a more advanced case as describe, you will need to reference the last navigation outcome in a managed bean so that you can execute it when the back button is clicked.

How to create a radio button on OA Page using Personalization

How to create Message Radio Button and bring them under one group.
ThanksYou should use jdev to define a radiogroup and radio buttons under that, wrap that definition inside a stackLayout in jdev, use personalization to add a stackLayout and extend the region which you had created earlier in jdev.

How can we create such navigation buttons using Flash CS4?
Hi,
How can we create such navigation buttons using Flash CS4 is in the following website? Please help me with any such tutorial to make my custom navigation bar/buttons.

Thanks.While the Note 4 is a reasonably large device it still falls into the phone layout bucket. We need this layout to function on very small screens some as low as 320 pixels high and 240 pixels wide. These sorts of devices don't have the space for a full toolbar.

How to Create a Persistent button on the top HTML gallery
Hi,
In my InDesign Folio I have an article with full page HTML photo gallery. The photo grid occupies the full screen. I want to create a Persistent button on the top of this gallery which user can tap to go to the Main Menu page. This button is always visible at one place even as user scrolls up and down the gallery. I tried creating it on the top layer, and on the top layer for Master page, but the button disapperas when the HTML gallery loads.
So the user does not see any button to navigate out of the gallery to another article.
Any ideas how to create the persistent button ?
Thanks in advance.
-MPDepending on if you are using the HTML as either an article or in an overlay, you may be able to either use the standard navto and goto hyperlinks syntax or place a blank button on top of your link in the HTML.
I am not sure if using the standard navto and goto syntax will work between an HTML article and an Indesign article. Maybe Bob Bringhurst, Bob Levine, or one of the staff members can clarify. If you are using your HTML in an overlay, you can add a transparent button on top of your link or image to return to whatever page you like. -

How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
Eric Steven Raymond
Rick Moen
Write in clear, grammatical, correctly-spelled language
We've found by experience that people who are careless and sloppy writers are usually also careless and sloppy at thinking and coding (often enough to bet on, anyway). Answering questions for careless and sloppy thinkers is not rewarding; we'd rather spend our time elsewhere.
So expressing your question clearly and well is important. If you can't be bothered to do that, we can't be bothered to pay attention. Spend the extra effort to polish your language. It doesn't have to be stiff or formal ? in fact, hacker culture values informal, slangy and humorous language used with precision. But it has to be precise; there has to be some indication that you're thinking and paying attention.
Spell, punctuate, and capitalize correctly. Don't confuse "its" with "it's", "loose" with "lose", or "discrete" with "discreet". Don't TYPE IN ALL CAPS; this is read as shouting and considered rude. (All-smalls is only slightly less annoying, as it's difficult to read. Alan Cox can get away with it, but you can't.)
More generally, if you write like a semi-literate b o o b you will very likely be ignored. So don't use instant-messaging shortcuts. Spelling "you" as "u" makes you look like a semi-literate b o o b to save two entire keystrokes. -

How to create a modeless dialog using commandlink
i want to create a modelessdialog using commandlink. and my code is

<h:commandLink onclick="javascript:modelesswin('popup.html', 300, 300)" value="click"></h:commandLink>
</h:form>
</body>
</f:view>
</html>
when i click the buttonlink the dialog box is not in a stable state that is its will appear and within a second it will disappear .. can any one of them can suggest me how to create a modeless dialoge using commandlink or by jsf option button
regards
subramanianIf I had to guess (and I do :), the onclick is firing, bring up the dialog, but the commandLink causes a form submit, so the page is submitted. There is no action on the commandLink, so it's navigating back to the same page, causing it to refresh and your dialog to disappear. It would appear to me that you need a h:outputLink or simply <a href="# onclick="..." /"></a>

How to implement hyperlink in java using swing components
hi.....
pls help me to find out solution
how to implement hyperlink in java using swing componentsI've got the same problem here.
I want to implement a HyperlinkListener to a JLabel. (Unlike suggested above, it is only supported by JEditorPane and not JLabel)
The goal is, that if a user clicks on a Link in a JLabel, the standard browser opens and displays that page.
Can somebody please help?
My ultimate goal would be to also be able to add clickable HyperLinks in ToolTip texts, but i guess that'd be even more complicated. -

This is something I've wanted for a long time and am very surprised to hear that it's possible with Reader since they took it away long ago. Can you explain exactly which usage right is required for this? How about a sample file that demonstrates it works in Reader? In other words, I'd have to see it to believe it. -
How to create a custom button/ double button
First of all I am relative new to
Java 2D programming; therefore,
I am seeking some help and advice of
how to create a complex double button
a big one which is responsible for
the use case and a small one which
will show some help text if pressed.
| |
| Use Case _____________|

A 3D effect should distinct and signify whether the Use Case
button area or Help Case button area is pressed.
I am looking for some example or best practice that
explains to me how to create a double button
so that it can carry or depict at least a:
1) Title
2) Subtitle
3) Pictogram (Graphic Icon)
4) Round or organic borders
5) 3D effect
Thanks in advance.What you are asking here is something complex enough that nobody is going to explain it to you in one forum post. We are talking about creating your own custom button component. I would suggest you check out the book [Filthy Rich Clients|http://www.amazon.com/Filthy-Rich-Clients-Developing-Applications/dp/0132413930/].
