How to create a connection to access outside of a proxy server?

hi there
i am working beind a proxy server, now i need to write a program that is going to invoke some functions on the internet. how can by pass this proxy server? what do i need to use to create a connection? thanks

When you run the application use:
java -Dhttp.proxyHost={ip} -Dhttp.proxyPort={port} {app}
where ip is the ip address of your proxy
port is the port the proxy uses
app is the app you are running.

Can someone help us with the steps to create an ODBC connection between Oracle APPS using Oracle 10g database and MS SQL Server.
Requirement is to extract the transactional data from MS SQL Server on a daily basis and dump it into Oracle tables for an interface to be run. Currently it is being done through Dataloader tool which we feel is causing the data issue with Arabic characters. We want to create the ODBC directly between Oracle and MS SQL Server and check if the data is being pulled correctly.
The data is in sql server 2000 which has data in Arabic_CI_AS character set which is moved to Oracle 10.2.0.3 database with characterset AL32UTF8. The table data is moved to oracle using the dataloader 3.6 standard edition licensed version. We cannot change the character set of Sql Server 2000.

Hi,
If you're trying to PULL data from SQLServer into an Oracle database, you wouldnt use Oracle ODBC driver for that, so you may want to post in the Heterogeneous Services forum instead:

If you're trying to PUSH data from SQLServer into an Oracle database, you could use ODBC but most folks use OLEDB for that, and the following note on MOS should help:

As with any NLS related issue, the first thing to do is dump the codepoints of the data in the Oracle database to see if it is stored validly, rather than relying on what the data "looks like" from some tool or other. It's best to check a single row, with only a few characters in it if you can, and you can do that via
SELECT DUMP(<columname>,1016) FROM <tablename> WHERE ...

Regards.I am using Generic Connectivity in the present.Before that i used to use ODBC to connect ORACLE with MS access but for diffrent client i had to encapsulate the MS access sequel as well any enhancment mess the code.
As well I tried to centralised this practice at server side for that i had to encapsualte these sequel and coding into procedure for the client accesbility.
As well if i had to connect outsource others db like sybase which knows diffrent sequel so i had to cope with other db.
But thanks for ORACLE they give us a very nice NON-ORALCE connectivity tool (generic,transparent gateway) it fade up all those garbage which i compelled to follow.
Its like one interface mutltiple methods :)
However, it also enabled me to control which columns were visible and what they were called in MS access or in Sybase etc.
So i would suggest to OP go for HS service rather old fashioned ODBC with DSN.

I am using IBM WebSpher 5.1.1. And i want to create a back end using ms-access. Can any one suggest me how to create the connection.
While i used
Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
i am getting class not found. So i assumed that IBM doesnt provided such driver in the IDE.
So can any one tell me the alternative to make a back end connection for Ms Access.

I have just nw, got it succeeded.
I just granted
SQL> grant sysdba to sri;
After that I am able to create connection with role 'sysdba'. Hope this post would be useful for someone who tries.

According to your description, you want to connect multiple database from multiple servers using dynamic connection.
If in this case, we can create a Table in our local database (whatever DB we want) and load all the connection strings. We can use Execute SQL Task to query all the connection strings and store the result-set in a variable of object type in SSIS package.
Then use ForEach Loop container to shred the content of the object variable and iterate through each of the connection strings. And then Place an Execute SQL task inside ForEach Loop container with the SQL statements we have to run in all the DB instances.

How to activate and utilize the Creative Cloud with a proxy server.

Anyone know how to get the cloud activated from behind a firewall / proxy server?

My Adobe Application Manager connects, updates and downloads all applications.
However, when I open an application, it does not detect a connection to the internet and states that an "Internet connection is required for subscriptions."
So what is it that I have to do to get this to work? Many people are having this issue, do a google search on this and you will not find a solution. We need one from Adobe.

How to Create a connection pool in OSB java callout

Dear Team,
In our project, we need read some data from DB, and do corresponding operation. currently, we need setup the connection first, execute the SQL, and close the connection.
But the concurrency of call is very high, is there a way to create a connection pool, then we can use the connection pool to get the connection and execute the SQL, then return the connection to the pool.
if connection pool is not available, is there any way to create the connection outside the java callout, that we can just execute the SQL in java callout.
The OSB version is 11.1.1.6.0

Thanks for your help.
What I need is not only the db connection, may be other kind of things, such as read configuration from file...
If I write the code in java callout with static java method to create and close the connection, each time when request come in, OSB will create a new connection (or read the file), I think it's not the best practice to do this kind of work.
I think the weblogic is running in JVM, is there any way we can define variables or new object in the JVM directly?
