How to create a Custom Screen for executing a report in the backend ?

Hello Everyone,
I have a requirement to develop a Custom Application on the Cloud to capture few fields from user and trigger an execution of a report in the background in CRM. There is no need to display any results after the triggering execution. Just need to show a message that "Background Job was successfully submitted".
I saw the types of screens available for creation as explained in this link Screen Types, unfortunately none of the screen types works out for me.
As seen from the requirement, there is no need to store any data send from the UI in backend. So, it doesn't make sense for me to create a Business Object. So I tried creating a Query Object to see if that works out, but query object also requires a BO to execute query on and it also makes result list view mandatory and asks me to pick atleast one field to show in the result list.
I also tried Mass Data run which doesn't fit the bill.
So, I'm looking for the best possible UI screen and approach to build a simple custom application with 5-6 fields and an execute button. Please suggest me the best possible option available in the C4C.

Hey,
first of all: if you really need a button, you will need to create your own business object with an action.
If you just want to trigger the service you could add an extension field of type indicator to any standard Bo and the put logic in the before save of this Xbo. Then you just add the indicator to the UI. But the user would always have to go to this screen I.e. The customer...
so i guess maybe a custom business object with only one instance, a button, some logic in an action and a generated UI including a workcenters 'backend report execution' is the best way for you!

The numbers in the RGB and other fields change as various numbers are changed.
I wanted to create a pale orange:
Hue               13      Red      255
Saturation   240      Green 177
Luminosity    86       Blue     140
I'd selected one of the orange squares in the color grid, to display the general orange area of the slider.
I moved the slider to select a pale orange, which generated the above numbers.   Since this wasn't directly available to save to a Custom Color, I tried to edit the numbers. Unfortunately, the other numbers changed, making it impossible to actually create a color.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Note: I used Techsmith's Snagit to show screen shots in a Word document.
When I attempted to browse and upload the file, the error message said "[The content type of this image is not allowed.]"

Then I create a cube with use compression off, and in rules sum for example.
After, I create a measure and I select Override the aggregation specification for the cube, in rules I put nonadditive and I would like to create aprogram to assign distinct values to each level of the dimension. For example, I put 1, 2 3, and 4 values, but at the end I would like to put count(distinct(values)).
for that I create another program:

What you have done is perfectly right. The password file doesn't have anything else apart from the password
for example in your case
$echo password > /tmp/password.txt
However I remember that in windows install, the Application server used to wait for a user's input when a deploy was to be done for the first time. So Can you read the Release notes or the Readme file which has come with windows.
The solution was,
manually use asadmin command of application server to deploy some war (any webapp will do), at this time, a question will be prompted to accept a certificate. once this is done, deploy portlet should work fine!!!

Please try the following steps to display the cover sheet and replace it with custom one:
How to change a portfolio’s initial view setting to show the cover sheet (and hide the contents):
Open a PDF portfolio and run the following JS in the console:

Save the portfolio, close and re-open.
The cover sheet will now be displayed when opening the portfolio.

Here are the steps to replace the default cover sheet:
Open the Portfolio.
Perform a View > Portfolio > cover sheet to open the cover sheet.

Right click on the cover sheet page in the pages panel, select “Replace Pages”.
Replace the cover sheet page with the desired cover from a page in another pdf.
Save the portfolio.

First of all, you're OT.
Second, you can find this everywhere in the net.
If you got a manifest declaring main class (an classpath if needed), just create a file named whatever.bat, within same directory of jar file, containing:
javaw -jar ./WhateverTheNameOfYourJarIs.jar %*By the way, assuming a Windows OS, you can just double click the jar file (no batch is needed).
Otherwise use:
javaw -cp listOfJarsAndDirectoriesSeparedBySemiColon country/company/application/package/className %*Where 'country/company/application/package/' just stands for a package path using '/' as separator instead of '.'
Don't specify the .class extension.
Javaw only works on Windows (you asked for batch, I assumed .BAT, no .sh), in Linux please use java.exe (path may be needed, Windows doesn't need it 'cause java's executables are copied to system32 folder in order to be always available, see PATH environment variable if you don't know what I'm talking about) and use ':' as classpath (cp) separator.
The '%***' tail is there in order to pass all parameters, it only works on Windows, refer to your shell docs for other OSs (something like $* may work).
This way you have a command you can call to launch your code (instead of opening NetBeans just to see your app working). You could schedule tasks on it or just call it in any command prompt (hope you know what it is 'cause there have been people in this very same forum with no clue about it, if not just hold the 'Windows button' and press 'R', then type 'cmd' and run it).
Finally add dukes and give 'hem away.

How to create a custom theme for discussions similar to jive?

I have worked in Jive earlier and saw that there was greater flexibility in the way you can work with themes. Oracle has extended it and looks most of the features are removed.
In Jive, I was able to create a new theme and was able to change the look and feel for each piece of page that appeared in jive site. E.g I was able to change the ftl of header, fotter, account controls area etc. There were around 20 diffrent templates that were available and I could control each and every template to give a total diffrent look and feel for the Jive site.
How do I do the same with Discussions in WLS_Services now? Also don't see an option for defining themes for wiki site.
Do we have a developer guide for customizing discussions and wikis?

How to create a custom tag for a custom converter

In Jdeveloper 11g, I have a project where I have created a custom converter class that impements the javax.faces.convert.Converter class. I have registered the converter with an id in the faces-config.xml file of the project, and the converter works fine by using the <f:converter type="myconverter"> tag. However, the custom converter has a field which I would like to set from the tag itself. Hence, I would like to add an attribute to <f:converter> tag if possible or create a custom tag that has the attribute.
I have done some reserach and I found that a custom tag can be implemented: I need to create a class which extends from the ConverterTag class or javax.faces.webapp.ConverterElTag class, which I did, but I also need to create ".tld" (tag library) file which defines the tag itself.
The part about creating the ".tld" file and registring the new tag is what I'm not sure how to do.
Does someone know how to do this?

that's a good document, and it explains how to make a custom converter. I already created the custom converter, it converts a number to any currency pattern. I know java already has a currency converter, but it doesn't support Rupee currency format, and I need that format.
My converter works, but I would like to pass the pattern of the format through an attribute in a tag. Since f:converter doesn't seem to support that, I created a custom tag which uses my converter, and it enables me to pass a pattern to the converter.
All of that works, but I need to be able to pass the pattern as an EL expression, and it's not evaluating the expression before passing it to the converter. It just passes the whole expression as a string. I'm thinking It may be something I'm doing wrong.

/1PAPA/FEAT610PPMOD the generated program for the feature.
You are forbidden to change this generated program. Ideally whatever logic regarding the feature needs to be put through pe03 tcode of feature and not in the program.
Still if there are any changes that need to be done to the program you can enhance the program.
To enhance the program you need to go to se 38 and open this program and press Shift + F4
Then Goto->Enhancement operations->Show implicit enhancement operations
Then go to yellow line right click on mouse and Enhancement implementation->Create
And put your own code in the implementation.

How to create a custom symbol for quick inserts

I have found it extremely tedious to recreate statistical symbols over and over when it appears to be an unnecessarily lengthly process, when many stats students are in need of these characters and we have such a huge database of other less-used symbols in the database.
Isn't there some easy way to simply add symbols (e.g., D-bar, Null Hypothesis, t obtained, etc) that don't already exist in the special characters list?
OR is there just a way that we can create the symbols we need and add them to our favorites for quick insertion? This seems rather unwise, since so many users are looking for the same symbols, but it's a start...

From what I can tell, MathType would be awesome, but I'd rather not have to pay for additional software when it seems to be a feature built in to Pages, as it is for Word. I've always experienced superior software from Apple when compared to Microsoft, but in this case I have to say I'm disappointed.
However, I did read on a different discussion board that there is the Equation Editor Application built into the Apple Suite, and I was able to use it, albeit it is definitely not as user friendly as Word's insert function for equations, right on the toolbar.
I have tried creating a pages document where I actually spent the time creating these symbols, hoping I'd be able to copy/paste and that isn't as simple as I had hoped, either. Especially because items from Equation Editor can't be copied from one pages to another...why this is so is beyond me.
I will try the keyboard shortcut option, though! Great idea!

How to create a custom transition for further use?

I created a transition which looks like CoverFlow (like in iTunes): clip moving from full screen to the left hand side in a distorted position with a reflection underneath, then fading out while on the right hand side the new clip fades in and moves then to full screen. Looks rather nice...
Instead of typing all the keyframed coordinates again and again, I would like to make it into an transition effect which I use just like all the other transitions.
Is there a way to do this in FCP 5.1.4?
