I was reading a document about WAD, and mentioned the "Role Menu" web item, so i tried to configured in my web template but i could do it.

So, Can anyone tell me , How can i create a role menu in a web Template?

All you have to do is use the role menu web item and do not set it equal to any roles. Once you logon to the web template,it will show you all available queries, web templates, URLs, Crystal Reports, etc... this can be filtered out. Are you receiving any errors?

How to create a quick toolbar ribbon in Acrobat?

In Office 2007, I find that the ribbon (i.e., quick access toolbar) is extremely handy.
I use it whenever I open the Office 2007.
In Acrobat 9.0 which came with both CS4 and CS5, I don't see the ribbon.
Is there anyway to create the ribbon?
I recently purchased Nitro PDF. It came with the ribbon. Why not with Acrobat?

The ribbon is a design/ui that Microsoft designed. Some people like it. Obviously the company that created Nitropdf fall in that category. Adobe doesn't. Generally, they try to make their applications work the same on all platforms using a similar interface. I doubt you can. Those browser toolbars are done by implementing to an API provided by the browser. That API, I don't believe, is provided via Java. But of course, that would be entirely up to the browser, not Java.

How To create Authorization for a Web template in Bw 3.5 ?
I have a requirement to restrict a particular Web templated in bw 3.5 So that all the end users should not be able to access that template only a particular user should be allowed to view the template?
I cant find any authorization object for the WAD template in bw 3.5 ?
Can anyone tell me the procedure to include the WAD template authorization?
Should i include the authorization template in the Menu - in pfcg??? . i have added the template in the Menu in the PFCG but still it didnt work.

As you said, the authorizations for the WAD templates should be given in PFCG roles.
But you have to include the access/authorization details in the authorization objects. WAD templates have been created with including info/multiprovider, info cubes right.. first you have to include these objects inside the Role in PFCG.
S_RS_COMP,S_RS_COMP1,S_RS_MPRO,S_RS_ICUBE.
just assigning WAD template in the menu of the roles is to display when you login with the userid.
Please request your BASIS folks to do the same.

More generally, if you write like a semi-literate b o o b you will very likely be ignored. So don't use instant-messaging shortcuts. Spelling "you" as "u" makes you look like a semi-literate b o o b to save two entire keystrokes.

This are all standard Web Items in the WAD. Drag them onto your template and then make the changes you need to them in their Properties.

How to create global toolbar for some common operation like add, delete etc

I want to create one global toolbar which contains buttons for common operations such as add, delete, modify etc.
I have one globl .jspx page and in its center facet, I am loading my each screen's .jsff page.
Now I want to create global toolbar on my .jspx page and when I click on toolbar's add button at that time it should call, currently loaded .jsff (loaded in center facet of .jspx page) backing bean's add method.
How can I get the instance of currently loaded .jsff backing bean in my toolbar's backing bean and also I need it with its current state( means whatever UI components have values I should be able to get it in my instance).

Hi,
since page templates don't support method expression arguments there are two options I can imagine
- define a contract between the toolbar buttons and the availability of a managed bean available for the consumer page. If for example each page has a managed bean like <viewId>_toolbar then the Toolbar could reference exposed methods on this bean (which must be consistent)
- Another option is to have the page passing in the EL string to access the iterator to operate on as an attribute of the template you use. Then you create a ValueExpression from it and call it for the button action events that you point to the managed bean you deploy with the template

you can't change the smart bar. All you can do is to create a hrizontal toolbar canvas.

Not sure if you can create a check-box in wad but for sure you can set properties of the table in which you display your data. There should be something like "Selectable rows" (don't have access to the system now). When you switch it on you will be able to select rows of your report. Then you need to set filter based on the selection you made.

Use SET PF-STATUS 'ZABC'.
Double click on it.
It will display Application toolbar. Create the buttons.
I think the limitation is bcz of the LABEL of button, if you create buttons with a Single TEXT, then you would be able to create many buttons, including toggle button. The Toggle button would switch the buttons.
i.e say initially 10 buttons are displayed along with toggle button. You click the toggle button , then remaining 10 buttons are displayed.

how do I edit the toolbars? for example remove the open and create button. with the customize feature I can only find a way to edit the tool set, but I want to edit and rearrange the whole toolbars, that I have only the features needed on one row, instead of the default two rows.
