How to create a date range in Web Application Designer

I am using 3.1 version of Web App Designer. I need to create a report with date ranges. I can get one date to work but not two (I need a start date and end Date). My Query has 0CALMONTH with a variable for Interval. When I select it as a dropdown (??) in Web App Designer, I only get one date prompt in web app designer.
Any suggestions??

1. My private key (simply generated in the server)
2. Import Root certificates from NS
3. Import Trusted certificate issued by NS
Then when I sign with my private key surely an association will be formed to the trusted authority certificate. The problem I'm having is when I first made my private key I used openSSL as it was only intended for HTTPS. Now I need to create a keystore so I can use jarsigner to sign the jar file, and I can't see how to create a keystore using my existing private key. Surely if I created a new key and self sign, then import the trusted certificate the association will fail, as the private key will not be the same 1 that I used to make the CSR when applying for the trusted certificate.

1> Open a command prompt and cd to the application's dir:
<TOMCAT_HOME>\webapps\abc
2> Use the java archive command 'jar' to bundle up your application:
jar -cvf abc.war *
3> Move this to any other server and work with it!! :)

Web Application Designer - Concatenate two queries

Hi All,
we using BI 7.0 SAP GUI 6.40 Support Package 14.
I created two Queries one with characteristics within hierarchy(1) and one for the result (2).
I put the first one in filter pane item (1) and the analysis item for the second (2).
If I executing the query I see a drop down menü for the first query (1) and the complete report on the second query(2).
So, when I choose a characteristics from the drop down(2) there don`t changed the data at the second query(2) (result).
How can I concatenate 2 Queries in Web Application Designer?
Please give me a step-by-step solution.

Basically you have one query in your dropdown box and when you select one from the dropdown box you want to affect the second query. If that is the objective, then you can do that only in one query, attach the field you need in the dropdown box and create view for the table (analysis Item) and attach the view to the item. Make sure in the first dropdown box, check on the affected area which is going to be the table (analysis Item).

i am bw learner and want to know few things
1) how do we publish report developed in web application designer so that we can access it on internet. Is there any webserver offered by sap.
2) how that report will be authenticated in browser, do we have to create a login page for users or is there any built in one.
3) Does web application designer comes with Sap GUI (like bex analyzer) or do we have to install separate programme.

I would suggest that you search the forums first ...
1) how do we publish report developed in web application designer so that we can access it on internet. Is there any webserver offered by sap.
SAp BI comes with a ABAP Web server and a JAVA web server. You can publish the web template / report using these servers ... they can be directly accessed using the URL ( the application has a feature to execute the same in the web ) or the same can be published as a page on Enterprise portal and then accessed from there.
2) how that report will be authenticated in browser, do we have to create a login page for users or is there any built in one.
The access for the same will be through the BI login. When you execute the URL , you will be prompted to login by the server and you do not need to create a separate login page for the same. You can also access them through Enterprise portal where the user needs to login to the enterprise portal and then access all systems using a Single Sign On or SSO.
3) Does web application designer comes with Sap GUI (like bex analyzer) or do we have to install separate programme.
The front end for Web Application designing is called Web Application designer and it gets installed along with your GUI installation and you can design the templates using the same.
Note: WAD is getting phased out by Xcelsius as part of the BI BO roadmap but then with extended support you will have WAD supported till about 2016 I guess so nothing to worry right now.

Just wanted to find out if anyone knows how the style sheets are referenced in Web application designer 7. I need to change the colour of the total line. I can do this in se80 but how the style sheet is refrenced in the designer its self i what i would like to find out. I may be going down the wrong path and the layout and colours maybe controlled directly in the application designer itself, I am not sure, new to BI 7 tool set, use to 3.5!

I created a template in WAD (Web Application Designer) and inserted table which is connected to Query. Given Query consists variable also. However WAD generating report without any variables.

1. Check if your variable is input-ready (if it's not - it shouldn't appear on variable screen). If yes - pls.follow
2. Try to set parameter Reset variable values - On (WAD-> your Template --> Web template parameters --> Behavior)

just check by which format your date is coming
just create a one variable and check =UserResponse("Transaction Date From (mm/dd/yy)")
if your output is in format of("mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss a")
then some format we have to write in todate syntax
then your final formula for date would be
=FormatDate(ToDate(UserResponse("Transaction Date From (mm/dd/yy)");"mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss A");"dd/mm/yyyy")

Dear Experts,
Scenario:
I have a query in validating the date field in my BSP application. My application is for maintain infotype 0023 Other/Previous Employers online by employees in the company.
As per our design we are maintaining the all employment details of the employee both ( with in the current company / previous employment outside the company) in the same infotype.
Every employee will have a hiring date within the SAP HR system. We consider this date as the cutoff date between current and previous employment in our application. When the employee updating the details wia BSP page I need to check the following.
Record inside current company: Validation that, the user should only able to enter BEGIN DATE (BEGDA) greater than or equal HIRING DATE and END DATE(ENDDA) should be greater than FROM DATE (BEGDA).
Record outside current Company: Validation that, the user should only able to enter BEGIN DATE (BEGDA) less than or equal HIRING DATE and END DATE (ENDDA) should be greater than FROM DATE (BEGDA) and less than HIRING DATE.
Technical Requirement:
How to set a date range for date field, i.e. how we can limit the date range in a HTMLB date field? Can this it be achieved via standard functionality of HTMLB?
Following is the code to describe date field in my application.

positions ,jobs , Org units
Path:IMG->Personnel Mgmt->OM->Basic Setting->Maintain Number ranges.
IMG go to Personnel Management -> Organizational Management -> Basic Settings
-> Maintain Number Ranges.
Select subgroup $$O to maintain number range for Org Unit and click on Number range Maintenance. Then click on change Intervals. Now you can create both internal and external number range for Org Unit according to your requirement.
Similarly for Position select subgroup $$S and follow the same process.

Hi Kaleemullah,
To create OTR Text, T-Code is SOTR_EDIT. If you run this transaction then one screen will appear. There you can choose Long Text or Short Text based on your
Text. You can choose language also. In Text field you can enter your text. You can put WDYV in your Object Type field. In Text block Length can be increased to 25 as it may be problem if language conversion of Text happens. You must fill your package field and save the OTR.
I hope you can be able to create OTR Text now.

You can place the below code in the initialize event of the field to display the current date and time.
Set the language to FormCalc.
You can play around the formats to get the desired format of date and time.

endif
You can not restrict the input area in Date time field instead you can validate the input while existing the field.
(OR) set the field to either readOnly or protected mode.

How to create own Web Items for Web Application Designer

Hi all,
is it possible to create own Web Items for the Bex Web Application Designer? Each Web Item has a Master Web Item and a class that is responsible for rendering data. I need a solution to get the Web Item's data - i.e. the content of a table (if Web Item = table). So my approach would be to create an own (Standard) Web Item with an own class. For example I would like to change the table's Web Item parameter <param name="ITEM_CLASS" value="CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_GRID"/> to an own class...
Is this possible?
Or ist there any possibility to get the Web Item's data by an interface?
