How to create a fold effect with depth

Hi all,
I'm fairly competent in Illustrator, yet I'm having difficulty understanding how this effect below was created. Folds on a sharp angle are easy to get my head round, but these ones are particularly tricky. Especially the area around the “bend” where you see the stroke width changing.
I suspect there may be a 3D application involved but I'm certain this can be created in Illustrator alone.
Does anyone have any idea how this would have been created? Credit to the amazing work of Hey Studio – http://heystudio.es/

It might be as simple as creating your left path and your right path, creating a blend between them, and then doing some Pathfinder work.

Hello guys,
I hope you can help me with this question:
I am working on a private cartoon project, designing the backgrounds. One of the scences is located in the desert. I really want to create a realistic stone, with depth (like you would in Photoshop with the smudge tool) but I dont really know how.
I tried the following things so far:
1) Drawing the shadows ect by hand with the pentool (didnt bring me the results i wanted)
2) Trying to add a texture (same problem^^)
3) Trying the gradient mesh tool (It is just not doing what I want)
So does anyone of you know a good way to create good looking cartoon rocks?
Does anybody know a tutorial for this? (I didnt find anything in the net)
Is there a trick to it?

Can you explain this a bit more detailed? (I am not particularly an illustrator genuis and no almost nothing about photoshop )
So you are advising me to draw the rock in illustrator and create the shadows in protoshop and place them behin the image? And make the rock transparent?
Or you are saying I should trace an Image I made in photoshop?

How to create shiny/mirror effect with a background.

HI there we have been trying to create a shiny effect and
found the following tutorial.

The only problem we have is that we have a textured
background and the tutorial talks about having a colored background
with not texture.
When we create the shiny effect you can see the white or

To create a user defined member, in the Hierarchy editor on the bottom right of the screen there is an add buton, if you click on it, you will get a list. Included in the list are user defined child and user defined sibling. These create user defined members. Don't worry that the binding says unspecified. When you save the hierarchy, it will change it will change to be a text value equal to the name you gave the member. To get the members you want to put under that member, I find it easiest to create a Dimension element that has filtering to get select the I need for example if I create a user defined member called diet drinks. I'll create a Dimension member called diet skus that has a filter to select skus where the alias contains the word diet. I'll put that member under my diet drinks member. Whil it might be a little late for you. The Essbase Studio book I'm working on will be available late this week. It has examples of what you are asking about.

You can batch process a set of prepared slides from Full Edit (see image) using:
File >> Process Multiple Files
In the PMF dialog you can choose filename, date, or description (caption)
Make sure you choose a separate destination folder to your source folder so as tot to permanently overwrite your originals.

any idea how to go with this with director?

It somewhat depends on what the effect is intended to acheive.
Here is a simple behavior script that can be applied to any bitmap. It wobbles, in the sense that it has a radom movement about its axis.
That is acheived with the random() statements. The amount of wobble can be controlled by changing the value added to each parameter on each iteration.
The last three statements keep the wobble from randomly walking off the frame. Again, wobble can be changed by setting the corrective value at which point the bitmap returns to its original state.

I readed the "Oracle Olap developer's guide to the Oalp api" and I found there's 2 type of Cube: Solved and Unsolved Cubes. And this document says: "... if all the data for a cube is specified by the DBA, then the cube is considered to be Solved. If some or all of the aggregate data must be calculated by Oracle OLap, then the cube is unsolved ..."
I tried with awm 10.2.0.3.0A to create an unsolvedCube but I can't. All cubes I created are solvedCube. To know if a cube is solved or unsolved, I wrotte an program in Java to read informations of package mtm.
Some one can tell me how to create an unsolved cube with AWM ou other soft please!

SH is not a relational OLAP data model which is quite different from the GLOBAL schema which is based on an Analytic Workspace.
If you change the aggregation method you will need to re-compute the whole cube which can be a very big job! You might be able to force the unsolved status be de-selecting all the levels on the Rules tab in AWM. However, I think by default analytic workspace OLAP models always provide a fully solved cube to the outside world. This is the nature of the multi-dimensional model.
Relationally, as keys are located in separate columns a cube can be unsolved in that the key column only contains values for a single level from the corresponding dimension tables. If more than keys for different levels within the same dimension appear within the fact key column then the cube is deemed as being solved.
Therefore, I am not sure you are going to get the information you require from the API. To changes the aggregation method you will have to switch off all pre-compute options and also disable the session cache to prevent previously calculated data being returned when you change the aggregation method.

You can get Row Source Statistics only *after* the SQL has been executed. An Explain Plan midway cannot give you row source statistics.
To get row source statistics either set STATISTICS_LEVEL='ALL' in the session that executes theSQL OR use the Hint "gather_plan_statistics" in the SQL being executed.
