How to create a gallery wrap

I have watched Randy Hufford's presentation on
episode 159 of Photoshop User TV
at least 50 times but I can not complete the gallery wrap
procedure from the point of sizing the canvas.
When I move the area created by the Marquee tool it
does not fill. Can someone give me a step by step procedure
I may follow or point me to a written procedure.

Okay, where you're going wrong is the step you numbered "5."
5  To drag I used the Move tool and positioned the blank canvas over the pixels
Don't use the Move Tool. Leave the Marquee Tool active. With the pointer inside your active selection, clicking and dragging with the Marquee Tool will move just the marquee...not the contents...although...
The repositioned ‘canvas’ does not show any pixels. The previous position of canvas is shaded yellow.
...that bothers me a bit. It doesn't correlate to any Photoshop behavior I recall, and I've been using it since version 3. You shouldn’t be able to "reposition" pieces of blank canvas.
Anyway, that's really the key thing going wrong here; you make the selection on the blank canvas area simply so that it corresponds with the size of the blank canvas area. What you want to actually SELECT is a potion of the image. So, as already mentioned, you move just the selection marquee to the image, so when you press Ctrl+J, you're duplicating image content.
It looks like you have the rest of it relatively correct, though once it goes wrong, there's no saving it. Start over, following the steps I' had already posted, and don't change to the Move Tool when repositioning the selection.

  • How to create a gallery website

What would be the best way to create a gallery site for a
photographer who has many (dozens) of images (9 main
categories, multiple categories within these 9 categories)?
She wants a site that looks slick and professional, but also to be
able to easily modify it herself.
She does have Dreamweaver, and we talked about doing an html
based site, where she can change and add images in Dreamweaver.
However, I'm wondering if we can make it look slick enough in html
    format?
We decided not to do a flash based site because it would be
hard for her to modify, and expensive to do the whole
interface in flash, since it would take too much programming
time, and the search engines wouldn't see it. (Plus, I haven't
had time to really learn flash yet.)
    My questions are:
    1. Are there online gallery programs (free, no monthly fees)
that you like, and that can be easily customized to look slick?
    2. Do you know of any gallery type websites that look
professional and elegant, either in html or in one of the gallery
programs, that we can look at ?
    3. What would you recommend for this situation? I've been
stuck on this for about a week.
Thank you in advance for any insight or suggestions!

    Free? Sheesh....
I would recommend ImageGalleryMagic - worth every DIME and
    not so
    expensive....

  • How to create photo gallery rollover?

I want to create a photo gallery similar to that created by the slideshow widget where rollover on the thumbnail changes the enlarged image but I wish to place the individual thumbnails wherever I want (not grouped) eg. one thumbnail on the right, one thumbnail on the left etc. Can someone direct me to a tutorial or step by step instructions on how to accomplish this. I am trying to evaluate the software for purchase. Thanks

    I answered my own question.
It's Design tab/ Object/ Insert Composition/ Lightbox Display. The thumbnails can be moved anywhere unlike the slideshow widget where they are grouped in one location.

  • How to create a gallery in Catalyst beta 2?

    Hi there,
I'm using the latest build of Catalyst and I'm trying to create a simple inventory data list for cars.
Basically right now I have a simple data list like this:
So you can see I have three buttons (asian, domestic, euro) to link to each page which shows a list of the cars from different makes
and I basically want to be able to click each thumbnail in the list, and it'll display the rest of the pictures of the cars.
Each car has 6 pictures from different angles, so how would I go about implementing something like this so it's easy to manage all the data if I have to change the inventory every 2 weeks or so?
    Thanks!
    - Matt

    Thanks for the breakdown Ty!
If I want to go more advanced, say bring in a working system of streamlining the upload process, I assume I'd have to work with flash builder to achieve that right?
Basically the inventory is something that needs to be updated weekly or bi-weekly, which consists of 6 pictures per car, usually each update would require me to upload 100-200 photos, then add the info/options to each car.
Is there a way to work with the layout so I can pretty much drag and drop and make some minor adjustments to make it work simplier?
I was thinking of having each picture or row in the data list be given an ID or something and it reads dynamically from a database?
maybe like Row 1 thumbnail will be like 1.jpg and then the 5 other pics would be in sequence, or whatever, so I just need to batch edit/name the pictures according...
    Is such a feat possible?
Please keep in mind I have no coding experience, but I hope I can pickup some skills along the way
    Help is greatly appreciated!
edit: Actually I saw a tutorial online where someone made different component/packages, can I do the same and make like a functioning gallery script? So basically when they click on a row, it goes to another state which has the gallery package placed on the page and it allows the user to go forward and back between the 6 photos...

  • How to create a dynamic button to download a photo gallery in Adobe Muse?

I need to create a gallery in Muse, so far so good, but when each photo was displayed automatically would have to see a download option that picture, ie, individual download each photo gallery. Is how to do this? Is there a script for Adobe Muse or widgets?
    I thank your attention !!

    Hi Terry,
As I already said, this is really a helpful tutorial to me.
I have one question though. Is it possible to make a dropdown menu that gets triggerd by pushing only the menu button itself and not the whole header? It doesn't seem possible to me, as the accordion panel has to be the same size as the menu. I can't think of any solution but to align a small menu to the side of the screen, which would not be my first choice to do.
    Any workaround suggestions are welcome!
    Thanks in advance!

  • How to Create a Persistent button on the top HTML gallery

    Hi,
In my InDesign Folio I have an article with full page HTML photo gallery. The photo grid occupies the full screen. I want to create a Persistent button on the top of this gallery which user can tap to go to the Main Menu page. This button is  always visible at one place even as user scrolls up and down the gallery. I tried creating it on the top layer, and on the top layer for Master page, but the button disapperas when the HTML gallery loads.
So the user does not see any button to navigate out of the gallery to another article.
Any ideas how to create the persistent button ?
    Thanks in advance.
    -MP

Depending on if you are using the HTML as either an article or in an overlay, you may be able to either use the standard navto and goto hyperlinks syntax or place a blank button on top of your link in the HTML.
I am not sure if using the standard navto and goto syntax will work between an HTML article and an Indesign article. Maybe Bob Bringhurst, Bob Levine, or one of the staff members can clarify. If you are using your HTML in an overlay, you can add a transparent button on top of your link or image to return to whatever page you like.

  • How to create animated xml flash gallery ?

I am a new starter . I want to create a xml flash gallery ,
but i dnt know how to create it ....Can any one let me know what is
the procedure to do this dynamically .....
    Thanks

If you are using Actionscript 3, there is a pretty good
tutorial on working with XML files here:
    http://www.gotoandlearn.com/player.php?id=64
The home page of that site provides numerous other tutorial
links that may come in handy for you in other projects.
You will also need to become familiar with the Loader object
and the addChild method in order to dynamically insert externally
stored images. Look for the "Loading display objects" section in
    the Flash help documentation.
I'd recommend just getting one image to load/display to
become familiar, then you can decide how you want/need to make the
    rest of the design work.

  • How to create a grid-gallery ?

I want to create a gallery similar to this one : http://jeretslack.com/
    featured on this page: http://www.adobe.com/be_en/products/muse/jeret-slack.html
basically, i want to use the thumbnails as the main images of the gallery (so no lightbox)
When you scroll over the thumbnail, text appears. I have tried numerous times to insert text into the thumbnail, with no success.
Then, once you click on the thumbnail image, it takes you to a gallery with more images.
I have taken the time to go through many tutorials and forums, but haven't found any clear answers. Thank you for your time.

Consider both as separate images i.e. the one that appears on load and the other one that appears on mouse hover. You can create this effect by simply selecting a rectangle tool and fill an image into it (for the Normal state). Then select the rectangle again, switch to the States panel and apply an image (the one with the text) to the Rollover state. Now create as many you like and align them to your liking.
    Thanks,
    Vinayak

You should use jdev to define a radiogroup and radio buttons under that, wrap that definition inside a stackLayout in jdev, use personalization to add a stackLayout and extend the region which you had created earlier in jdev.
