Hai All
Could Any Tell me the steps to create a hierarchy tree in oracle forms
My table is employee_master and fields are
Empcode number ,
Empname varchar,
deptcode number,
gradecode number and etc
Here i need to create a tree with Deptcode in that every employees are seperated by grade code

Hi Leon,
Creating a BP group (customer) hierarchy in CRM system is very easy. Please refer to the following very good help document : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/12/cfea3b31aac554e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
But in CRM 5.0 every time you create a hierarchy node and saves it, then hierarchy automatically get disappears. You need to implement the following notes in your system to get rid of this problem : 958122, 960384 and 956066

You can use ABAP program in the process chain.
I guess there are some OS level commands in ABAP which will allow you to open, close, read , write and move files.
Serach in ABAP help or on net.

I need DRILL DOWN functionality in forms. Im trying to Study / Create Hierarchi Tree Concept in Forms 6i, but couldn't able to manage /Understand how to create this. Please any one could help me. and im giving my scenario also here, whether it can support or not.
Our routes having lot of terminals, like Our Bus travels from KENYA to SOUTH AFRICA passing TANZANIA,ZAMBIA,MALAWI,BOTSWANA countries. so i need the No of records to be dynamic i cant fix 10 records and scroll etc, Rather im trying to use Heirarchi Trees to achive this.
My Table is like this.
Table #1 Route_quotas
Route_no,terminal_name,quota_station_from,quota_station_to,no_of_seats,seat_no_start_from,seat_no_ending
Data is Like this:
1,GNT,GNT,HYD,10,1,10
1,GNT,GNT,VJA,40,11,50
1,VJA,VJA,KDD,10,11,20
1,VJA,VJA,HYD,30,21,50
I need data to be displayed / functoned like this. If One select Route_no 1 in a List_item. Down to that i should show which terminals having quotas in this route. those are.
GNT
VJA
Next ... If One selects this node like if one Expands GNT node the sub nodes should be like this having three coulmns (i.e quota_station_from,quota_station_to,no_of_seats columns)
GNT HYD 10
GNT VJA 40
Next again.. if One select the first subnode it should give ...the seat Nos
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 (please Omit the commas) and from there i should be able to select one seat_no and do some actions based on that. like RESERVE or ISSUE what ever i like. i need that Seat_no value.

Rama,
I would use nested PLSQL cursors to populate a record group and create the tree from there. This way you can also concatinate multiple values to show as a single name in a tree.

as the title,if the node has the property to indecate it is a internal leaf!

To create an internal leaf node for a hierarchy tree item:
1. In the hierarchy tree, select the parent node for which you want to
create an internal leaf.
2. Right-click on the node and choose Create Internal Leaf from the
context menu, or choose Tree > Create Internal Leaf from the main
menu.
3. MDM adds an internal leaf node named u201C[parent]u201D as the first child of
the selected node.
NOTE ►► The name of the internal leaf node is the name of the
parent node in square brackets ([]).
For more details refer to pages 333 onwards in Data manager reference guide.

I am not sure I understood what you meant by decision tree. If you are simply talking about arriving at an answer based on one or more inputs, then it is a simple IF ELSEIF ELSE statements or CASE statements.
Can you please elaborate/give example of what you mean by decision tree?

How to create a dynamic tree report

hi experts,
i have a requirement to create a dynamic tree report in OM module.
this report should show the number of people positions required in a org unit, and also the number of people available in a org unit.
There is something called as qualification catalog to which qualifications are attached, to these qualifications org units are attached, these org units will have some positions attached to it, and each of this position might have a person attached to it.
The user will enter the qualification catalog number in the selection screen for which he should be getting the result in a tree format which flows from qualification catalog to qualifications, from qualifications to org units, from orgunits to the total no of positions present in this orgunit and the no of positions occupied in the orgunit.
This is a challenging job as far as i am concerned.
Please suggest me a way to approach this,i promise to reward the answers.

How to create an Hierarchy from 2 tables in Essbase

Currently We have 5 dimension tables and one fact table in Star Schema Model.We have requirement to create an hierarchy which pulls from multiple tables
For Eg:
Table:1 P1 P2
Table:2 Q1 Q2
Expected Hierarchy :
P1
Q1
While we try to implement it shows inconsistent results.Can some one let me know the alterante solution to fulfill this requirement.

Your JOIN doesn't work?
You'd have to post what the tables look like, what you're joining on, etc., etc. You aren't supplying enough information.
I am (to put it kindly) a SQL hack. I have found that if I go to a company's dba with my childlike SQL and ask, "Can you improve this?" almost 100% of the time they take pity on me and improve my code to no end. I know that's not what a dba is really for, but they tend to like well formed SQL touching their databases. Failing that, is there someone at your firm that is good with SQL who can help? You're on an Essbase board, not a SQL board, so you are likely not going to get the help you need here.
