How to create a  index for solution database - CRM5.0

Hello Experts,
We want to have knowledge search in our IC web client
Trex 7.0 is alreasy installed.
I have done configuration in SAF.Also have created problem/solution in IS01-tcode
When I tried to compile SDB, I am getting error " 2007 - Index does not exist.
Can any one tell me how to create a index and how to assign a problem to SDB.

Hi,
Please ensure the following are correctly configured.
At IMG location CRM > Enterprise Intelligence > Software Agent Framework
1. The knowledge base has been configured - "Name and Configure Search Engine".
2. The knowledge base has been included in application - "Configure Application". The knowledge base should be in both application "ALL" and "ICWEBClient". (SAP note - 1091759 refers to similar error)
Then, as you might have executed the BSP application, CRM_EI_CMP_ADMN->default page, and select some language & click on Full index.
You might want to monitor the indexing process in TREX with the help of TREX admin. If nothing is shown in the index queue after the detail compilation shows status as finished, then the problem is in the CRM side and the documents are not flowing to TREX. So you might want to put breakpoint at CL_CRM_SAF_SE_TREX_ABAP classes' FULL_COMPILE method and analyse.
Kindly get back with any more details that you find if the problem doesn't gets solved.

    1.In the EP 6.0 you can create index System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Index Administration
    2.TREX is search engine that will proccess the documents that you have specified in the index Data sources when you have created the index.
    The status of TREX you can see in System Administration -> Monitoring -> Knowledge Management -> TREX Monitor or Index Monitor for indexing monitoring.
    If you don't have connected any TREX engine to J2EE, just start the visual administrator and configure the TREX service.
    To install the TREX you can follow the instguides for TREX service.sap.com/instguides SAP Netweaver->Release 04 or 2004s -> Installation -> Cross-NW

    Hi everyone,
    I'm using InDesign CS2 to create a 250 page catalogue. Most of it is finished now, and I've come to creating the index.
    The catalogue is spread over about 10 InDesign files. How do I create an index for this? No paragraph styles were set up when it was started, but there are character styles.
    I've done some searching - does it need to be booked so I Can index? And can I book it without paragraph styles?
    (I've only been using InDesign for about a year, mostly self taught.)

    Creating a book from your files should be no problem at all. ID does
    i not
    synchronize styles across documents -- unless you order it to! (That's what the checkboxes at the left of the book documents are for. Do Not Use, in your case.)
    The Index function itself is book-savvy, but you might want to search this forum for a few recurring problems.

    I'm not very familiar with CRM business partners, but the common way - to include the repository where the documents are stored to the KM using [CM Repository managers|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e3/923227b24e11d5993800508b6b8b11/frameset.htm].
    You need first to create a repository manager for you repository and only then you'll be able to create an index.

    but after this when i tried to connect the ORCl database with user 'kumar' it is giving me the ora-01017 error.

And if you are configured properly (actually, if you are configured by default), the same listener listens on port 1521 for connection requests to all databases on the server.
    If you were connecting to the wrong database with 'conn / as sysdba' it's because you had the wrong environment value for ORACLE_SID. In fact, with that connection request, you weren't useing the listener at all. When you added "@orcl", the connection request looked up "orcl" in the tnsnames file, and asked the OS network stack to pass the request on to whatever was using PORT= at HOST=. And that should have been (and obviously was) the listener.

    I have a requirement something like, I will be getting some huge amount of data from external system via CORBA, I have to display the data in jsff page in <af:table>. My requirement is If User updates any of the row I need to identify what are all the rows user updated and Need to invoke again a CORBA call for only UPDATED Rows.
    Basically here, I am not dealing anything with the Database, I assume using Entity we can find out a status of the row whether the row is updated/deleted/created .
    How can I create an Entity object in this case.

  • How to create an index for bi-lingual text column

    I have a column that keeps the full file name of the attachment document file of a record. I need to build an index on the column so that we can search the attachment document file. The content of the file will be in English or French, but we don't know which one is in English and which one is in French. How I should build the index so that it will support 'contains' query and 'about' query for both English and French documents? What lexer, wordlist and stoplist I should use?
    Here is something I am thinking:
    lexer: basic_lexer
    stoplist: build a custom stoplist that contains the stopwords for English and French.
    wordlist: use the default for US should be OK since we don't need to support fuzzy and stem search.
    The only problem is that it will only create the theme index properly for the English document but not the French document. This is because the NLS_LANG setting for the session is always in English. Therefore, the English knowledge base and lexicon will be used. I cannot use the THEME_LANGUAGE setting to overide it because I don't know the language of the document. Is there a way to merge the English knowleage base and lexicon with the French ones so that we can create a correct theme index without knowing the language of the document?
    I am also thinking about using the multi_lexer. However, it won't help since we don't the language of the document.
    Can anyone give me some help?

    Creating a primary key, by definition, creates a (unique) index. Either inline at table creation, or via an alter table.
    If its a composite PK, the alter table or inline constraint definition, after all the column declarations, is the only way to do it that I'm aware of.

    "... constraint <schema.>t1_name_pk violated ... " is much more informative than "... constraint <schema.>SYS_CNNNNNNNN violated ...".
    The created index gets the same name used for the constraint as well.

    We are using Database Project in Visual Studio.NET to source control the SQL Scripts of SPs and Tables.
    Now, while creating commad file, it asks me select all the files to be included. thats fine. But after creation, if I open and see...It starts like....
    osql...test1.sql.
    osql...test2.sql
    but, osql is commad of SQL Server not of Oracle...if am not wrong..!
    Is there any settings that can help me create command file that works on Oracle?

    We inspected both environments, Oracle 9iFS and Oracle CMSDK (Application Server 10g 9.0.4.2, CMSDK 9.0.4.2)
    We use the same SQL command "execute ctx_ddl.sync_index('IFS_TEXT'); "as Oracle 9iFS for create INDEX.
    But full-text search function cannot work correctlly in OracleCMSDK when we use Japanese contents file.(Otherwise Oracle 9iFS works correctlly.)
    Is this SQL command syntax correct?
    Any information would be helpful for us if there are some configurations to create INDEX in Japanese content of Versioned file.

    I am working on the same issue with Sri and will explain the requirement in detail.
    Requirement
    We need a Page which will have 17 questions and answers will Yes or No. Employee need to answer all the questions and then submit the page and after submitting, it will send the FYI Notification to concerned people.
    Old Approach
    We thought of developing it with the EIT page and decided to put Questions in EIT segment prompt and attaching YES_No value set. But the Question text is more than 500 characters and segment prompt can be only 80 char.
    Now we are trying to find a new approach to achieve the mentioned requirement.

    There seems to be some kind of misunderstanding here. You <i>cannot</i> create a secondary index on a cluster table. A cluster table does not exist as a separate physical table in the database; it is part of a "physical cluster". In the case of BSEG for instance, the physical cluster is RFBLG. The only fields of the cluster table that also exist as fields of the physical cluster are the leading fields of the primary key. Taking again BSEG as the example, the primary key includes the fields MANDT, BUKRS, BELNR, GJAHR, BUZEI. If you look at the structure of the RFBLG table, you will see that it has primary key fields MANDT, BUKRS, BELNR, GJAHR, PAGENO. The first four fields are those that all cluster tables inside BSEG have in common. The fifth field, PAGENO, is a "technical" field giving the sequence number of the current record in the series of cluster records sharing the same primary key.
    All the "functional" fields of the cluster table (for BSEG this is field BUZEI and everything beyond that) exist only inside a raw binary object. The database does not know about these fields, it only sees the raw object (the field VARDATA of the physical cluster). Since the field does not exist in the database, it is impossible to create a secondary index on it. If you try to create a secondary index on a cluster table in transaction SE11, you will therefore rightly get the error "Index maintenance only possible for transparent tables".
    Theoretically you could get around this by converting the cluster table to a transparent table. You can do this in the SAP dictionary. However, in practice this is almost never a good solution. The table becomes much larger (clusters are compressed) and you lose the advantage that related records are stored close to each other (the main reason for having cluster tables in the first place). Apart from the performance and disk space hit, converting a big cluster table like BSEG to transparent would take extremely long.
    In cases where "indexing" of fields of a cluster table is worthwhile, SAP has constructed "indexing tables" around the cluster. For example, around BSEG there are transparent tables like BSIS, BSAS, etc. Other clusters normally do not have this, but that simply means there is no reason for having it. I have worked with the SAP dictionary for over 12 years and I have never met a single case where it was necessary to convert a cluster to transparent.
    If you try to select on specific values of a non-transparent field in a cluster without also specifying selections for the primary key, then the database will have to do a serial read of the whole physical cluster (and the ABAP DB interface will have to decompress every single record to extract the fields). The performance of that is monstrous -- maybe that was the reason of your question. However, the solution then is (in the case of BSEG) to query via one of the index tables (where you are free to create secondary indexes since those tables are transparent).
