How to create a MYSELF Datasource

Hello,
can any body help me creating a MYSELF Datasource from which i can create a InfoCube ..
My requirement is
I want to partition my InfoCube for which i want to transfer all my data that is in my present Cube to another dummy InfoCube. So that i can make partition to my InfoCube..

Hello,
We use the 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER hierarchy datasource to load material hierachy in BW.
I had to modify the function module that creates the data for 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER.
Now, i need to create a new datasource based on the new function module.
To do so, i created a generic datasource (with SBIW), a master data attributes datasource.
I tried to put the same parameters that in 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER, but i didn't find how to indicate that it's a hierarchy and some other parameters (as you can see in RSA2 for 0MATERIAL_LKLS_HIER in the "semantic attributes" area).
Also, i couldn't run the new datasource in RSA3 because it didn't show me the right selection fields.
Could you tell me if there is a specific transaction to create hierarchy datasources ?

Here is my requirement.
I am asked to create a DSO and equivalent datasource for profit center. How to create a datasource for profit center in BW?

what does ur DSO has to do with the hierarchy? And subject line and the subject are misleading.

I'm trying to creat a internal datasource to pick up data from the USR02 table to a n infocube (tcode rsds).
Text error : "Creation of DataSources for SAP source system FBWCLNT010 is not permitted"
Help : "You cannot directly create DataSources for replicating source systems in BI.
The system terminates the process."

How to create a generic datasource from function module?

Dear experts,
I have created a generic datasource from function module. For this extrator, I created a function module and a structure.
I have now some difficulties to continue:
In this function module, i get data from different transparent tables. Then i put these data into an internal table.
I just don't know what is the relatioin between the structure i defined and this internal table.
I should make "iTab structure AA" in the source code?

Generic Extraction via Function Module

1. Create s structure with the fields that you need from the 4 tables . Activate.
2. Goto SE 80 Select The Function Group , Copy , Select the Function module
" RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE " and Give a New name starting With
Y or Z .
3. SE37 ->Your Function module name -> Change , In table tab give your structure
name by deleting the associated type given in " XXXX " .
4. Now select source code and Do the coding . Give Data source name in Coding .
In your case you have to take data from more that 1 table .
5. Activate the Function Group .
6. In RSO2 Create the Data source , Give the Function Module Name , And Save.
7. RSA3 -> Give data source name and Check for the Records .
Creation of custom datasource. (Using function module)
.Create a function group .
. Structure ZTXXXX
Create function module (i.e. ZTESTXXX) .
. Create the data source using transaction (RSO2).
. If structure exists for the table parameter of your function module then ok else create a structure for the table parameter .
Test the datasource in R/3 using transaction RSA3.
Transfer the data source to BW System and replicate it in the BW-System.

Hi to everybody,
I'm a little confused about creating a custom DataSource that i need to create a player
that shows as a video some jpeg images retrieved from an input stream.
question 1:
do i have to store all the images in the data source ? or i can just set the current image every time i rereceive a new image ?
question 2:
can i link my JpegInputStream to my custom data source in order to read the images ?

u will have to create DS using FM.
use the standard function module and edit the FM as per ur need.

please see above link for detail infomation regarding the attribute data load. now the language and description column of the infoobject s_saled is empty. i need to create a generic text datasource to load data from R3 to BW. the table which i use to extract attribute data is VBAK, but i don't find any filed relate to language and description.

go to transactio rso2 in your source system ie r/3.
there u have three three fields for transaction data
attributes.
text.
choose text and proceed as u did for trancsaction data load.

Here am providing you with a scenario when we go for Generic Datasource and also the steps to create a Generioc DS:
We can create datasource based on View, Table, SAP Query or ABAP Query, and Function Module.
Scenario for Generic Datasource.
      One of the Manager who using reports wanted to have the report which will him the list customers and sales document numbers created by them.
     In this case we can use of VIEW where kna1 and vbak tables were combined in the View definition or else u can say that ABAPer had given the required view.
How to create the generic Datasource.
      Goto RS02, select the Transactional Data, it will takes us to the next screen, where we need to give application component name say SD (01), then give the name of the Datasource that u wanted, select view and give the view name. Below that field we need give 3 descriptions. Then save and activate the datasource.
    Go back to the RSA6 screen transport it to BW system. Replicate the DS.

How to Create Myself System?

We are using BW 3.5 system and have an infosource that loads its data from itself. So we need to establish Myself Source System.
But in rsa1 trx, our source system is set as a Datamart, which is supposed to be "Myself System".
How do we change our source system from datamart to myself system? Or is there any way to create new myself system?

A BW system can be used as a source system to supply data to the same system or to another BW system.
When it is used as a source system to supply data to itself it is known as myself source system. All the data sources are available in datamart application component.
MYSELF is a special source system and you do not have to create it. Choosing a BW type source system (Create Source system option) will allow you to connect another BW system as source.
When you create datasource based on current source system (for example XML datasource or export datasource) it automatically mentions MYSELF source system.
The name of myself source system is the logical system name that your client has been assigned (in SCC4).

I am asked to create a new datasource 0vendor_attr in tcode CTBW
I am giving the details such as Basis datasource,class,client type,object table ,datasource type ,A datasource is getting created with naming convention 1CL_OVEN001,i am saving this datasource,I am not able to find this datasource in RSA5 or in RSA6 ,Also I need to add the characteristics to this particular datasource which I created,how do I give them,,

After you exported the charactersitic datasources (1CL*) into QA, I reckon you should have to change the client name in CTBW
and regenerate the datasource.
Open the client for customizing with help from ever-resourceful basis colleagues, then try and generate the char datasources in QA. 'Normally' there is no deviation from QA onwards, so you may not have to do this in PRD.

Step 1: Load Required Master Data for 0CostCenter in to BI system
Step 2: Enable Characteristics to support Hierarchy for this 0Cost Center and specify the External Characteristic(In the Lowest Node or Last Node) while creation of this Characteristic InfoObject
Step 3: On Last Node of Hierarchy Structure in the InfoObject, Right Click and then Create Hierarchy MANUALLY by Inserting the Master Data Value as BI dosent Support the Hierarchy load directly you need to do it manually....
Step 4: Mapping
Create Text Node thats the first node (Root Node)
Insert Characteristic Nodes
Insert the Last Node of the Hierarchy
Then you need to create a Open hub Destination for extracting data into the .csv file...
Step1 : Create the Open Hub Destination give the Master Data table name and enter all the fields required....and create the transformations for this Open Hub connecting to the External file or excel file source...then give the location on to your local disk or path of the server in the first tab and request for the data...It should work alright let me know if you need anything else...
