How to create a resource repository in OSB ?

Hi all,
I am using a set of xsds which needs to be used across projects, instead of copying all the xsds into each project I need to create a repository, which my projects will refer.
1) Is it possible to create such repository in OSB ?
2) If so will OSB automatically find the dependncies ?(like warn me if I remove an element used by some other project )

You can create a CM repository using the following path:
System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Configuration -> Content Management -> Repository Managers -> CM Repository
Click on the New button.

How to create an OWB Repository in a database

By default a database will have a repository installed into it. One has to create a workspace using Repository assistant within the repository.
database> repository> workspace
Question:
1. How can I create a new repository [either in same or a new database]?
2. Can one database have multiple repositories or is it limited to only 1?

Please note I'm aware of using Repository assistant to:
create workspaces on 11g and
create repository owners on 10g [we create owners and not workspaces on 10g]
In both the cases where do I define a specific repository, where do I give the name of repository etc.
In 10g ,OWB Owner is nothing but the schema which holds OWB repository
If you are creating a new OWB Owner that means it is a new repository.
If you are creating/registering a new OWB user when you can choose an existing OWB repository/owner to which the new user will be associated with.

Any clues on how to create a resource object to push a user object into res

I am working on a situation where I have to push a user object via a resource object and not having assigned to the user (in other words not linked to the user).
any ideas?
My approach is some thing like this
IN the "user" object I do set all the attributes required per the resource definition

I by no means want to sound belittling... so don't take me that way..
You need to understand the basics of files, and networks. You can't check if a file exists on another machine if you don't have a network protocol to communicate with. The reason \\ works under windows is because you are using an invisible (to you) network protocol. You probably know it as windows sharing. If your file were not shared under it's own name, that method wouldn't work (I'm assuming your entire drive is shared without a password... a horrible security flaw...but one thing at a time)
You can use FTP protocol to check if a file exists. You can either send the raw text FTP commands through a socket connection in java, or you can use a freely available FTP java API to make it a bit more simple. You could also write a small java server on the other machine, and have it tell you what you need to know with a socket connection. In this way, you have created your very own network protocol.

How To create a WebDAV repository...

Is there any documentation available for creating a WebDAV repository and making it available for TREX to index and search. I tried to follow the help doc in creating such a repository but the WebDAV rep. I created does not show up in the KM repository listing.
I'm running EP6 SP2 Patch 3.

If you need to create a CM repository with persistence mode DB, navigate to System Admin->System Config->Knowledge Mgmt->Content Mgmt->Repository Managers->CM Repository.
But before creating a new CM repository, you need to configure memory cache, the link for which is

Once your memory cache is set up, you may create a new repository with persistence mode DB. For the explaination on the various parameters of the CM Repository, please refer to this link

Training&Event : How to create "sub"-resources ?

I have a question from a customer. They use Training&Event (SAP R/3 4.6c) and they defined training rooms as resources (transaction PSVR). Problem : They can divide some training rooms into 2 or 3 smaller rooms. For example: Room 1 (40 seats) can be divided into two smaller rooms : 1A (25 seats) and 1B (15 seats). They also defined those smaller rooms as resources (same level). Actually, If they reserve room 1A for a business event, room 1 remain available for another business event at the same date.
Could someone explain me how to customize resources and relations to allow this room structure, and to avoid double resource reservation ?

Thank you for your answer. It was helpful. It's now a part of my solution.
To identify room and sub-room, I create a relationship (A/B230 - is part of/contains)
between the resources. With the user-exit SEMIN-RESOC, I implement a new function module to check the occupation.
I.e. If one sub-room is not available (directly allocate to a business event), I create a new record in table 'occupation' for the main room. I determine the main room with relations A/B230.
It works fine.

Dear Gurus,
i have an scenario where i have more than one resource giving same product as output having different capacities.
This resources capacity are utilised by more than one product and each reource has it own priority to a particular product.
example:
i have 4 products viz, A,B,C,D
and resources viz, RA, RB,RC,RD. the capacity is in nos of items per day.
lets say Resource capacities are
RA=150 nos ( can produce A,B,D)-priority to A than to B than D
RB=200 nos ( can produce A,D)-priority to D than A
RC=100 nos (can produce C, D)- priority is given to C, remaining cpacity can be used by product D)
RD=200 nos (can produce B,C,D)-pririty to B than D than C
how can i crate this scenario in APO..

Hi Kiran,
First of all you need to classify the resources RA, RB, RC and RD suitably so that when you CIF production versions (for the products) from ERP to APO, in the PPM appropriate alternate resources are created under modes.
Then in each PPM you need to assign the priority for the resource (other way round from what you mentioned as your business requirement).
So in the PPM for Product A the primary resource/mode would be RA but then alternate modes RB (suitable lower priority).
Likewise in PPM for product B the primary resource would be RB and RD is alternate mode with lower priority.
For Product C PPM - primary resource is RC with alternate resource RD having lower priority.
For Product D it becomes complex - primary resource is RD but then probaly RC >> RB >> RA would be the order for alternate mode priority.

Dear Team,
In our project, we need read some data from DB, and do corresponding operation. currently, we need setup the connection first, execute the SQL, and close the connection.
But the concurrency of call is very high, is there a way to create a connection pool, then we can use the connection pool to get the connection and execute the SQL, then return the connection to the pool.
if connection pool is not available, is there any way to create the connection outside the java callout, that we can just execute the SQL in java callout.
The OSB version is 11.1.1.6.0

What I need is not only the db connection, may be other kind of things, such as read configuration from file...
If I write the code in java callout with static java method to create and close the connection, each time when request come in, OSB will create a new connection (or read the file), I think it's not the best practice to do this kind of work.
I think the weblogic is running in JVM, is there any way we can define variables or new object in the JVM directly?

Using the workbench, when I try to create a web service from an existing WSDL, the workbench automatically uses JAX-WS.
JAX-WS does not offer support for asynchronous web services, since it supports only HTTP ports (@WLJmsTransport does not work).
Request your help in resolving this issue. One way is to use JAX-RPC but I do not know how to configure the workbench to use JAX-RPC instead of JAX-WS.

Currently, i am using osb 11g to develop a system. In the system we need to create a log file using log4j.jar library. This sub-program is working in the osb 10g base but fail to work in the osb 11g base. Can anyone give me some advice about this matter? Have anyone created one like this in 11g? Is it successful?
