How to create a video of photos in HD

Good day,
I have a Canon 40D as a digital camera and I wanted to created video footage in high definition(1920 X 1080). But everytime I import my images in Final cut, I see to be having black stripes on the sides of the canvas. I've tried many presets, but no success.
Is there a way to create a HD 1920 X 1080 from photos in final cut.

I'm creating a webstire entirely out of Flash using CS5 for a paranormal investigation group. In the past, using a Website Tonight template from GoDaddy had placed either an audio, video, or photograph with text above each item discusssing the content. Now, they would like this type of feature in the Flash website. I'm new to Flash, but seasoned in many other Adobe products ... not that this helps ... much!
Anyways, the website is looking great aside from this one set back, so I'm hoping someone out there can give me a helping hand. I'm willing to purchase a third-party template, but to incorporate that into our Flash file, seems daunting.
AUDIO
We need to load an audio that can play, pause, rewind, loop, and stop at the very least.
Then have text describing the situation around the audio.

New audio will be added to this section every week or so, and all the components need to scroll as the screen fills up. When adding new audio, we would add the new audio and text to the top of the list, pushing the remaining audio files down.
VIDEO
We need to load video footage with all the button features needed to play, stop, etc. I have found adding video quite easy, but to get the player to move with the text as the frame it is contained in scrolls down is another story. How do you do that?

As mentioned, building a custom application can be tricky, especially if you are not very familiar with Flash.
So you want a Web page with an audio player and selection list at the top (or where ever) and then a video player section, along with its playlist, and then at the bottom of the page you want a photo display area... Is that correct? and the scrolling you mentioned is because the page needs to be long enough to hold all 3 components? is that right?
Have you instead considered just using 3 different frames, one frame for each component and simple buttons to jump from audio to video to photos?
Or, skip the scrolling in Flash and let the html/css take care of the scrolling, just like any normal Web page. Just make the .swf as long as needed to display all your content.
Since you are new at this type of a project, I'd suggest you start small, take the project in steps... just build the audio player... then the video player... then your photo slide show..
Only after you have 3 working moduals would you but them together into one .fla
And yes, learn to use xml for ALL the data, audio, video, and photos.... very easy to update without having to re-publish any of the Flash.

But learning how to incorporate xml into your Flash project is very important in a project like this. And then broken down into 3 components, it's really not that tough to build a project like this.

How to create a Video Podcast?

Hi,
I have a question about how to create a Video Podcast.
What I like to do is record what I can see ON my screen. And I don't want to use a Video Cam to make Videos of it.
If anyone knows how to to that or if there is an application I could use it would be great.
What I am looking for more or less is an App like Audio HiJack Pro - well more like a Video HiJack Pro. The question is not about how to do the encoding once I have the Video.
Any ideas? Any would be great. Just tell me how its done and what I need to buy.

I use Snapz Pro X by Ambrosia Software.

The video gets jerky when capturing the video within iMovie, but it may be because I only have 512 MB of RAM. But for just capturing stuff like opening folders and what not, it will do the trick.

You can't. They aren't stored in the photo stream.
HOWEVER! With third-party apps like PhotoSync ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photosync-wirelessly-transfers/id415850124?mt=8 ), you can easily back up / transfer your videos to / via Dropbox, Picasa/Google+, Facebook, SmugMug, 500px, Flickr, Box, Zenfolio, (S)FTP, WebDAV and Google Drive. (But, of course, NOT Apple's Photo Stream.)

I would really like to get the high resolution videos from my phone and iPad to my Mac. I would like them to go into iPhoto on the iMac.
Is this possible? I can't figure out how to even get a shared photo stream to show up in iPhoto on the Mac.
Further, emailing the videos is not what I want to do because the iPhone and iPad downsample the videos before mailing. I want the full-strength videos taken on the iDevice to show up on my Mac. Is this possibel using Apple methods?

Anyone know how to create an album in iCloud photos on the Mac? It has a section for "My Albums" but I have no clue how to create one. I want to put all photos into named albums instead of just moments. I see how to do it on iPhone but it doesn't sync to the iCloud on Mac to look the same. You cannot yet create albums in the iCloud Photos.app, only in the Photos.app on your mobile iOS 8 devices, or in the Photos.app for Mac that has yet to be released.

How do you trim videos in Photo Booth on the OS X Mavericks?

I recently updated to the new OS X Mavericks. I don't know how to trim videos on Photo Booth though. Before I updated, there was a "trim" button on the bottom right side of the video that was playing, but I'm not sure where it is now. Is it even possible to trim videos anymore? Thank you

After you take your video and it appears on that little strip at the bottom, click and drag the video you want to trim onto your desktop. Then right click and choose Open With > Quicktime Player.app (It should be default.)
Then when it's open, press Command-T on your keyboard or go to the Edit menu and click Trim...
Then drag the little yellow handles to where you want to trim it to and hit the Trim button.
Then press Command-S to save it, or click the little share/export on the player controls to send it to Facebook or whatever you choose.

How to create alpha videos now FLV / F4V support dropped from Media encoder

Now that Media encoder has dropped support for FLV / F4V has anyone got any ideas how you would create a video with an alpha channel for use in flash professional. With flash professional only really supporting the H.264 CODEC, I can't see any way possible to use transparent videos now. I'm currently having to resort to installing an old version of media encoder to get back access to FLV. Does anyone have any other thoughts on how I could achieve this using the latest software.

There's all sorts of reasons why people still need FLV, in our case its the video format we use with Aurasma to be able to have animated text on a transparent background in an AR environment....
Why oh why would you just remove the option when h264 clearly doesn't replace all of FLVs features?

How to create HD Video for Web

After watching HD movie trailers on the Apple Web site I was wondering if anyone has information on how I can create 480P Video clips of my own work for my website? At the moment, I use compressor and the settings for Large DSL. It's good, but I'd like to basically copy the apple site, and give viewers the option of watching my work in HD if they want to.

I agree with Mr. Wolsky's advice for YouTube. However, I get the feeling sampan would rather have small file sizes for quick upload rather than high quality.
Without Compressor, it seems the smallest file can be generated using Share->Apple Devices... and selecting the iPhone option. If you want smaller than that you need Compressor unless you have another non-Apple compression tool that could be used to further compress the output.

If you are wanting to organise your photos on the fly on the iphone Im afraid you cant. But you can create a folder structure on your computer and from there sync those folders to your iphone.

Photo stream doesn't upload videos, just photos. If the video was in your camera roll when you last backed up your phone, restoring the entire backup should recover the video.
If you want to do this, go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings (which will erase the phone), then go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup. Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish.

Videos can only be downloaded from a Shared Photo Stream on a computer. Once downloaded, they can be synced to your iPhone via iTunes.
Can photos and videos be saved or downloaded from a shared album?
Yes. After photos are shared, anyone who can view the shared album can download and keep them permanently. Videos can only be downloaded to a Mac or PC. On an iOS device, videos are streamed from iCloud and can't be downloaded.
On a compatible iOS device, you can save photos to your Photos tab or Camera Roll.
In iPhoto or Aperture for Mac, you can add or copy shared photos or videos to your Library.
On a Windows PC, you can copy photos and videos from a shared album to any folder.
On the web, you can download photos and videos directly to your computer from the detail view of each photo or video.

an apple genius was able to record video in photo booth - now i don't see any way to do this...
does anyone know?

In the bottom-left corner of the Photo Booth window, just above the slides where it shows all your recent pictures, there are three buttons.
The first is to take a single picture.
The second will take a sequence of four pictures.
The third will record movies from your iSight camera!
