How to create adapters?

Hi,
I am a DBA and new to SOA and BPEL, I need to create a db, ftp and JMS adapter. Could some one guide me how I can do that? Can you direct me to a note or give me the navigation? I do not have jdeveloper, Is jdeveloper the only way to create an adapter? We are using bpel 10.1.3.4 on 10g Application Server.
Is there a way to create adapters through emconsole?

Are you trying to create adapters or JNDI names here ?
If it is adapter of diffrent kinds, then you have to build using JDeveloper only.
If you want to create JNDI you can do it in 2 ways you can use console to create or you can do it from back end which requires lots of experience in doing this.
If some thing goes wrong we can always restore the adapters application from the provided adapters by oracle.

How to create WF_BPEL_Q from Adapters ?

I have created a BPEL process and need to monitor the eBS outbound Business Event oracle.apps.ar.hz.Person.create. I have seen somewhere which I dont remember now that I need to create WF_BPEL_Q queue for this and need to monitor this queue.
Can anyone please send any document how to create this queue and enqueue and dequeue from this queue ?

I believe this is automatically created at design time by the Oracle Applications Adapter if it does not already exist - as does the subscription for the event

How to create the OSB artifacts in JDeveloper

The docs I've seen get me a little closer in being able to test the DB and AQ Adapters on the OSB, but it really does not help me understand how to do it through JDeveloper.
In the past we have done all of the OSB development in Eclipse and then imported it into the OSB.
Again, the docs I've seen shows how to do the Adapter configuration in JDeveloper and then how to create the Business Services and Proxy Services directly in the OSB console.
But I need to know how to create the OSB artifacts in JDeveloper then import them into the OSB or if this is even possible. I know there is an optional Eclipse component that you can install with OSB. Will we have to use both tools? (e.g. Eclipse for the OSB components and then JDev for the Adapters.)
Anyone have clarification?

OEPE/Workshop doesn't have these adapter plugins to generate WSDL and Bindings. Once the WSDL/Binding are generated you can either use sbconsole or OEPE/workshop for your usual development.
But I need to know how to create the OSB artifacts in JDeveloper then import them into the OSB or if this is even possible. There are no OSB artifacts that need development in JDEV. As you are aware the oracle adapters exposes back-end functionality in XML interface. This XML interface is modeled by WSDL. For adapters to work we need the WSDL and corresponding binding. Since OSB JCA transport uses adapters, we are required to provide these components.
Will we have to use both tools?For any services that are using JCA adapters, we need to use both (JDEV and (sbconsole or OEPE) ).
IF your services doesn't have to use JCA adapters then JDEV is not required.

How to create new OC4J instance in AS 10.1.3 with BC4J- and ADF-Libraries

I have done all the steps mentioned in this thread:
How to create new OC4J instance in AS 10.1.3
However, the new created OC4J instance obviously misses some libraries. If I deploy my Application to this OC4J I get an internal error: Class not found: oracle.jbo.JboException.
The same Application runs well in the "home" Instance.
What is the trick, to create a new OC4J instance, which more or less behaves the same way as the "home" instances (and especially has all the same libraries)?

I encountered this last month. I definitely agree that it is a glaring omission to not have "Create Like" functionality when instantiating new containers. Here's my notes on the manual steps required after using createinstance to create the fresh container. Not too bad. I've been deploying ADF applications to the new container with no problems after this.

The default (home) OC4J container is pre-configured for ADF 10.1.3 applications; however, when $ORACLE_HOME/bin/createinstance is used to create additional containers, these containers are not configured automatically to host ADF 10.1.3 applications.
I followed these manual steps:
1. $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/config/server.xml defines three shared libraries that "install" the needed JARs for Oracle ADF applications in your application server instance (container). Note that "install" does not necessarily mean available to applications (see Step 2). How to create a report based on a DataSet programatically

I'm working on a CR 2008 Add-in.
Usage of this add-in is: Let the user choose from a list of predefined datasets, and create a totally empty report with this dataset attached to is. So the user can create a report based on this dataset.
I have a dataset in memory, and want to create a new report in cr2008.
The new report is a blank report (with no connection information).
If I set the ReportDocument.SetDataSource(Dataset dataSet) property, I get the error:
The report has no tables.
So I must programmatically define the table definition in my blank report.

How to create a group calendar?

i am sorry but this is one more question on wiki-group-calendars.
*In short:*
I am not able to create a group calendar with the wiki frontend. the calendar that is created with a wiki is owned by the admin of the wiki. So it is always a personal calendar that cannot be shared in iCal.
LONG:
I want to create a group calendar that is viewed and edited through iCal.app and the web service. Apple´s "wiki deployment" guide says on page 57:
+"The web calendar allows you to easily schedule events for yourself or your group. ...+
+There are *two types of web calendars: personal and group*. You can send and receive event invitations through the personal calendar but not through the group calendar. Also, *while anyone in a group can create or edit events in a group calendar*, you can edit only events in your own personal calendar or event invitations you send to other people.+

But there is not mentioned how to create a group calendar. The calendar created with the wiki web-frontend belongs to the admin of that particular wiki. This is why the calendar data ist stored in folder named with the UUID of the wiki admin. Also the alias "http://server.fqdn:8008/principals/groups/mygroupname/" which i provided in iCal turns into ..._uids_UUID-of-the-wiki-admin and only the wiki-admin can access this calendar in iCal.app.
My research on this topic reveals that there were in issue that should be resolved in 10.6.4 (that is running on our Server). So, again, how to create a group calendar?

you need to go to the wiki page and add the wiki's there and then in the setting of the wiki is where you set permissions and services such as calendar, blog, and podcast you can also set all permissions for the wiki in the settings tab
fyi none of my groups were available unless i logged into the wiki as the Directory Admin not Server Admin

I went to http://ical.mysite.com/ical/ and logged in as the Directory Administrator but didn't see anything resembling what you described.

How to create a variant to a maintenance view (trans: SM31)

Hi gurus.
I have created a maintenance view (called z_jest). By running it from SM31 there is a variant option. However, I am not able to create the variant which I want to filter a selection upon in this transaction.
I have even looked into transaction SE54 and created a variant for the maintenance table view there( called z_jestv). Then going back to transaction SM31 and view z_jest, i push 'Variant' radiobutton and type as variant: 'z_jestv', I only get the message: "Variant z_jestv for object z_jest does not exist".
Can anybody please advice on how to create and/or connect the variant to the maintenance view?

When I look into the procedure, there is a prerequisite: "The basis dialog for which the maintenance variant is created already exists."
I am a little bit unsertain if I miss this 'Basic dialog'. Can you please advice on how to check / create this 'basic dialog' before I go on to create the variant. (I need this 'basic dialog' as input in the procedure you sent.)
(Note: I have already created a 'maintenance dialog' for the view, but I have a feeling, that is something different...)

Hi Deniz,
Go to se93.
Then create the new T.code.
Under that select parameter Transaction.
Then give the sm30 in the t.code in default values tab.
check the checkbox skip initial screen.
in classification tab.
click checkbox inherit gui attributes..
Now below..
In the default values..
select
viewname and give ur table name.
UPDATE= Xsave
view - table name ( Should be upper case
update X ( should be upper case).
