How to create advanvance search page style oracle web with adf?

i want create advance search page. it can add parameter at runtime (select attribute from drop downlist and click add) how to?

OK - so you want to be able to change the attribute you are searching on..In that case I'd probably do something like create a search form with all possible parameters..then using Expression Language, hid the ones that are not the selected value in a drop down list....
I'll have a quick play and see if I can get this working but thats the idea anyway.

You can find in knowledge exchange a script to create an flash file item type. With this installed you can add a flash file to an item region on a page.

Issue while creating a search page..

Hi,
I am trying to create a search page.
The requirement is:
Searching a SponsorDetails by Name.
I am having a data control getSponsorByName, which is created from web service proxy.
I created a table out of return object from getSponsorByName method. And passing pageflowScope parameter which i am setting at runtime.
The idea is in search form, on entering sponsorName and click on Search button i am setting the enter sponsorName to pageFlowscope and calling dataControlBinding.
But when i open the search page at runtime, getSponsorByName method getting called and returning error message. I am not setting any parameter at. How to stop fetching data onload of table. I want to get data on click on search only.

How to create a search with multiple criteria

I've a table that contain staff information. (name, dept. position, ext, email...etc)
I've created a search page that allow the user to search any field. The result should appear in the same page
first i've created the form:
enter staff First_Name:
enter Dept. :
select position:
submit button
Then I've created the record set that select all the feilds from the table, now i need a help in the criteria, This is what I used:
SELECT *
FROM tblstaff
WHERE First_Name LIKE %colname% AND Dept = coldept
for both colname and coldept
default = 1
runtime value = $HTTP_POST_VARS['First_Name'] - $HTTP_POST_VARS['Dept']
It seems to work fine when i enter all the values in the search form. but what if i left some fields empty? In other word how can I add (All in the drop down menu and accept empty value for the text search)??
can anyone help me?

The simplest way to do this is to add a wildcard character to the end of coldept and make the field optional.
SELECT *
FROM tblstaff
WHERE First_Name LIKE %colname% AND Dept LIKE coldept%
If the department field is left empty, it will match all departments.
By the way, you should not be using $HTTP_POST_VARS or $HTTP_GET_VARS. It's obsolete code, and will break on a modern installation of PHP. Use $_POST and $_GET instead.

Anyway if you are trying to connect to an Oracle Database you dont need the jdbc-odbc bridge as oracle provides a special driver for java applets/applications that is "the thin driver" and the "oci driver"..so if you are connecting to Oracle your connection will look like this:
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"); //not sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection ("blah blah, blah");
no need for the jdbc-odbc bridge.

How to create a html page

Hello,i am very new to dreamweaver 8,and i have searched
everwhere possible on how to create a html page.My website has a
navegation bar.And on the navegation bar it has links,like
forums,your accounts,and etc,but thats already integrated with the
website.Now i have an option in the admin area,wher i can create a
new category so that it would show up in the navegation bar,and i
have a drop down menu where i cans select what to put in that
category.But also i have an option to put a external url,so that
when they click on it,it will take them to where that link is
directed.The point is that i asnt to make a category in the
navigation menu that says Lirics.So that i can put lirics of songs
and etc,and that when users click on that link it will take them to
the lirics page..Do you guys understand?Sorry for the bad english,i
am now quite good with it..

How to Implement the Search page for Workflow Notifications?

Hi All,
I want to implement the new Search page for Workflow Notifications. Search page containing Company, Paygroup, Source, Initiator, Supplier Name, From date & To date fields. These fields(Poplist & Calendar) are getting the values from different tables and these fields are not in WF_NOTIFICATIONS table only Initiator & dates are there. After selecting the values in all fields or one field based upon these values I want to display the all Workflow Notifications ( Those are satisfy the search criteria only not all ) in Advance Worklist Table RN in the Notifications page. Is it possible to create the Search page based upon the above scenario if Yes Let me know how to implement this search page for Workflow. Page was designed but how to get the sortlisted Notifications and how to pass these values to next page?

I crete the Search page having 5 poplists and select the values from dropdown list and click GO button it serch the records and displays that records in ResultsTable in same page.
My case, Search page is running fine if I select the values and click GO button page is refreshed without errors but I am unable to displays the records in ResultsTable.
What I am missing?
