How to create and save a photo thumb

I feel a little stupid as I think I ought to know the answer - but nowmI must admit that I need some help. On the desktop the user select a folder with photos - for examples .jpg. The application then build a xml file successfully but I cannot succeed in creating thumb versions of the photos. Width and height must be max. 96 pixels each but how do I actually copy, resize and then save the thumbs? The resize portion of my function is the most critical part as I am stuck in my own code. How to create and save a file in flex web application ?

Hi,
I want to create and save a file form flex web application. Is it possible ?
I have done some googling and found that its only possible through file referece, which needs some serverside implementation be called.
Is it not possible with file reference to create and save file directly ?
Can any one suggest how to over come this.

code written with the Flex Builder 3 libraries will certainly run in Flash Player 10. However, what you need is not so much the capabilities of FP10 but the library functionalities of the Flex 4 package. And I think that Flex 4 code will only run in FP10 and not 9 (but haven't tested this as at work we have not yet been permitted to upgrade, so there is not a lot of point going for Flex 4!).

Becaus I need it often, I arranged a couple of buttons to create a new control.
I saved it as a .ctl file, but when I want to use it LabView says it isn´t a control.
Whats wrong? I couldn´t find a proper hint.

The problem that you file *.ctl can include only one control, so you have 2 options:
1) Create ctl file for each control
2) Put all controls to cluster and save as ctl file.
When you will insert this cluster to your vi, get out one of buttons and remove cluster.

Create and Save a Photo Colllage from Light Table

Hi Everyone,
I want to create a montage of several photos that I can save as one .JPG or similar, then take and have printed as a large photo collage.
I have had limited success using Apertures Light Table feature, however cannot find a way to save the entire light table as a single image for printing.
Can anyone offer any advise on this, or perhaps suggest a different application that will do the job?

If a PDF format works for you, then you can simply choose the light table, select FILE->PRINT LIGHT TABLE and in the window that pops up you can select SAVE AS PDF.
Then you can print that file...

Since you know how to create and print then saving it should be pretty easy. However, before I tell you how to do this, let me ask you have you got Adobe Acrobat (full version) or some other pdf creator? There are many free pdf creator out there but you might already have something on your system.
Assuming you have a pdf creator then instead of printing to a printer, try "printing to a pdf file" and this should allow you to save the file which can then be emailed to your friends and colleagues.

It's really too bad we can't see VJ's face when the concept sinks in. This is one of my favorite moments when teaching APEX classes. Most people love it, some people don't. If nothing else it really proves the power and performance of the Oracle database. Each page view can generate 40+ queries, yet on the average system this takes less than .04 seconds.

What do you want to achieve? Do you really want to create a copy of an image, and thus create a second copy of the master image file? You will waste disk space this way.
Usually you would create new versions of an image, if you want versions with different adjustments. Versions do not require much additional disk space. But all versions of an image have to be in the same project. To create a new version: Main menu bar -> Photos -> Duplicate Version
To create a copy of an image in another project (and to waste the space ) drag the image to another project while holding down the option key. This will create a copy in the other project.
Sofar nobody here could come up with a good reason why one would want to create a copy. I am curious what in your workflow requires you to do that. Would you mind to tell us?

Well my acquisition code runs perfect. The problem is reading it. I can't seem to read my data no matter what I do. My data gets saved as a string using the array to string vi but I've read that the string to array vi (which I need to convert back to array to read my data) does not work on the pda. I'm using version 8.0. So I was trying to modify the program posted in this discussion so that it would save data from my DAQ. I did that but I still can't read the data after its saved. I really don't know what else to do. All I need to do is read the data on the pda itself. I can't understand why I'm having such a hard time doing that. I found a possible solution on another discussion that talks about parsing the strings because of the bug in the "string to array" vi. However, that lead me to another problem because for some reason, the array indicators or graphs don't function on the pda. When i build the program to the pda or emulator, the array indicators are faded out on the front panel as if the function is not valid. Does this kind of help give a better picture of what I'm trying to do. Simply read data back. Thanks.

I would like to try to explain how to create an authorization profile.
1. you have to create a user with the Tcode SU01 at first
2. run Tcode /nPFCG.
3. enter a name for the role (naming convention is here very important) which you want to create and then click on "create Role".
4. enter a short description for the role and then click on Authorization tab.
5. now you are required to save the role. Click on it and continue.
6. click on the tab "change authorization data" and select the authorization template what you need.
7.change the authorization field value.
8.click on button "Generate".
9.click on button Back
10. click on Tab user to assign the role to the user which you created in step one
11.click on button User comparison and then complete comparison
